A/N: So I have this lifeguard class this week end (it's like 24 hours in total rip me) and I just wanted to let you guys know that I probably won't be posting one chapter a day like I usually do... I'm so sorry for those of you who requested, I'll try to work as fast as possible! ;^;

Note: all the (e) s in the french dialogue is because it's significantly harder to remain gender neutral in french, so if you use female pronouns, I would have to add an e at the end of certain verbs or adjectives. So I put the extra

E in parentheses.

You snuggled closer into Karren as the two of you were seated on the couch, watching a cheesy romance movie. Well, you considered it cheesy. Karren was definitely enjoying the movie, and you knew it. She was the type to love those cliché films where it ends with the couple getting back together after a misunderstanding and kissing in the rain.

You knew she'd never admit it, but you had a feeling she might want to try that with you. Kissing in the rain, that is. Not the misunderstanding. She loved it when you pulled off cliché romantic gestures like that.

"That's dumb." You muttered, watching the characters on the screen fight about how the guy apparently cheated on the girl, which was the misunderstanding you were talking about. Here comes the 'I should have known you didn't love me' speech...

"What do you mean it's dumb?" Karren asked, just slightly insulted that you didn't enjoy the movie.

"Well, she's not letting him talk or explain things. There's no communication. It's just dumb that she's just assuming things without seeing his side of the story. The worst part is, it's like that in the real world too." You frowned. "If it were me, I'd let you tell me everything before I make a decision."

"The difference here is that I'd never dream of even looking at someone else the way I look at you, meine Geliebte." Karren cooed, her grip around your waist tightening.

You smiled at her. "I love you."

"I love you too." She answered as you leaned in, the movie playing long forgotten. Just as your lips were barely brushing hers, your phone loudly rang and vibrated in your pocket, causing you to drop your head in the crook of her neck, loudly groaning at the disturbance.

"Didn't I tell you to shut that thing off?" She annoyingly groaned, the moment officially ruined. "Just ignore the call."

You nodded, about to do just that when you noticed who exactly was the caller. "Sorry, it's my mom. I have to answer..." You said apologetically, getting up from your comfortable position and sparing her one last look (she glared back at you. Ah, how you could feel the love...) before walking to your room to take the call in private.

"What?" You said a bit too harshly as you picked up. Why was it that parents were history's biggest cockblockers?

"(Y/N), c'est ta mère (it's your mother)." You heard the voice on the other side say, apparently off put by your answer in Japanese.

"Je sais (I know)." You groaned. "Tu m'as seulement interrompu(e), maman (you only interrupted me, mom)."

"Si tu le sais, pourquoi que tu réponds à ta mère en Japonais (If you knew, why did you answer your mother in Japanese)?" She answered sassily.

"Parce que, j'était un peu frustré(e) par ton appel (Because, I was a bit angered by your call)." You replied, rubbing your temples with your free hand. "C'est quoi que tu veux, au juste (What do you want, exactly)?" You just wanted to end the call and go back to your girlfriend already...

"Je voulais savoir comment ça allais à Tokyo! Je planifiais de venir te voir avec ton pè- (I wanted to know how it's going in Tokyo! I was planning on visiting you with your fa-)"

"NON!" You accidentally yelled. "Ne viens pas, les colombes sont trop nombreuses ici (Don't come, the doves are too numerous here)!"

Little did you know, the screech you let out had frightened your girlfriend and piqued her curiosity as of why you just let out the loudest scream of the french equivalent of 'no'.

Getting up from the comfort of the couch, Karren threw all remaining anger out the window to investigate just what was going on. Saying she was shocked one she heard your voice was an understatement.

"Mam, non... Je vais aller vous voir moi-même si tu veux tellement me voir, mais je refuse catégoriquement que tu risques ta vie juste pour voir ton enfant (mam, no... I'll go see you guys myself if you want to see me that much, but I categorically refuse to let you risk your life to see your child)."

Karren had no idea why she was as happy as she was hearing you speak french so fluently. She already loved you so much, but seeing as you were talented in a language other than Japanese just made her feel so much more endearment towards you. Now, the two of you could discuss things on the matter! She wondered why you never told her...

"Maman- Non mam, arrête (mom- No, mom, stop)..." You groaned as she heard your mother rambling about something on the other side of the phone. She felt slightly envious towards the relationship you had with your parents. She couldn't even talk to hers anymore...

"D'accord, d'accord, je vais aller vous voir dans pas longtemps... Non, je n'emmène personne! (Okay, okay, I'll go see you guys soon... No, I won't bring anyone!) ...Maman, je n'ai pas de blonde (Mom, I don't have a girlfriend)." You audibly sighed, making sure your mother heard you.

"Je n'aime pas la façon dont tu a soupiré jeune (I don't like the way you sighed, young)--"

"D'accord, mam, je dois y aller, c'est urgent (okay, mom I gotta go, it's urgent)." You lied, hoping to finally get off the phone. Karren'll murder you twice once you get back...

"Je t'aime, (Y/N), on te manque (I love you, (Y/N), we miss you)!" Your mom exclaimed.

"Je t'aime aussi, maman, bye (I love you too, mom, bye)!" With that, you quickly hung up before she could drag you into another hour long conversation once again.

Karren decided to make her presence known just about then.

"Since when can you speak french?" She asked, leaning on the door way of your room looking at you smugly like she had just caught you red handed.

"What? Er... Since I spoke my first word?" You asked more than answered. "How much did you hear?" You asked. "Or understand, actually."

"Ever since 'non', and none of it, other than 'non' and 'je t'aime'." She answered, her butchered french making you cringe slightly. "Were you ever planning on telling me?" She asked, confused and slightly ticked off as of why you never did tell her.

"It wasn't relevant..." You said, hesitating. "I would have told you when I would've introduced you to my family, of course!" You added upon seeing your girlfriend frown.

"I have a cousin who speaks french non stop," She started, looking at you like you were the dumbest thing on this planet. "And you say it's irrelevant for me to know that you might have some idea about what Shuu's babbling on about all the time?" Pure unfiltered Karren right there. You loved her sass.

"Ah, that's right, isn't it..?" You answered, sheepishly rubbing the back of your head. "I forgot Tsukiyama could speak French, but... it's not like his sentences make a lot of sense, to be honest. And same with his English. Who says 'monster show parade crazy crazy me' in a sentence?" You said, although your excuse probably wasn't going to be accepted by Karren.

"I won't be mad at you if you just do this one thing," she said, walking by your bed and settling down on it, looking at you expectingly.

"And what's that one thing..?" You asked, hesitantly sitting down beside her.

"Teach me french." She spoke, looking at you with a glint of determination in her eyes. "I want to impress Master Shuu, and in exchange I'll teach you German AND I won't be mad at you for keeping this from me."

"Oh gee, a two-in-one deal!" You sarcastically exclaimed, earning a cold glare from Karren. "Alright, alright, sorry! I'll teach you, I'll take the deal!" You quickly added, scared of what ever she was going to do to you if you didn't.

"Good." She smiled, all traces of anger gone.

"Let's start with the basics, just simple sentences." You said, before smirking. "Repeat after me, 'J'aime (Y/N) à la folie'."

Completely oblivious, she repeated your words before furrowing her (amazing) eyebrows. "What does it mean?"

"It means 'I'm madly in love with (Y/N)'." You answered, laughing when she slapped your arm. "What? It's not like it's a lie." You said, giggling at how flustered she became.

"Du hast Glück, ich liebe dich." She muttered, although you had no idea what she just said. "Because if I didn't, I might have just killed you over the matter."

"Nah," You waved off, ignoring the fact that she just threatened to kill you, technically. "You love me."

"I do." She hesitantly agreed. "Now proceed with the lesson, seriously this time."
