《Tokyo Ghoul X reader OneShots》Supernatural | Tsukiyama Shuu

A/N: I TRIED MAKING THE READER GENDER NEUTRAL OKAY I APOLOGIZE FOR ALL THE FEM READERS! And this one's slightly spooky because there's mentions of the supernatural like demons and poltergeists and such, so watch out.
If you don't know how to picture the creature, just try to think how that girl's soul that the demon thing was trying to take looked like from Insidious Chapter 3. It sorta looks like that (since it was just purely fuckin screwed up).
Also I made a joke during a moment that really wasn't the time to be joking around ok I'm sorry if it ruins the scene but I couldn't help myself.
Shuu watched as Matsumae entered the room, a small smile on her face. "Master Shuu, (Y/N) is here." She spoke. The purple head closed the book he was reading without even taking note of the page before getting up and following the dark haired girl in front of him, leading him towards the entrance.
"Did they say why they were here?" He asked. You hadn't told him you were stopping by, and he remembers you telling him you'd be slightly busy for the next month, since you moved to a new house. But a visit out of the blue like this was pleasant, nonetheless.
Matsumae shook her head as the two of them finally got to you. Shuu greated you with a bright smile and words as kind as ever, yet you seemed deep in thought, almost ignoring him.
"Is everything alright?" He asked, placing a hand on your shoulder. You flinched, but apologized for your behaviour, shaking your head.
"I'm okay, but I was wondering if you could sleep over at my place tonight? There's a few things I need help with..." You said, keeping your gaze on the ground. You'd understand if he refused your offer, but if he did, you'd have no choice but to go back there, alone. And that would probably mean you actual death, seeing how this plan won't work so well alone...
"A sleep over?" Tsukiyama asked, smirking. "It's about time! What kind of best friends would we be if we didn't have a sleep over?" This man's positivity was greatly appreciated, but you didn't think it'd balance out the pure evil in your new house. Plus, the title 'best friend' stung a little, too...
"Pack up the necessaries, because I'd like to get back with you, since there's a bit of explaining I need to do." You answered, scratching the red spot on your arm, which Matsumae took notice of.
"I'm sorry for asking, but what happened to your arm?" She asked hesitantly. Shuu soon noticed too and gasped.
Glancing down, you nervously chuckled. "It happened this morning." You answered. "It's sort of part of the explanation." You said.
"It looks like you got clawed by an animal. Do you have a stray problem?" Shuu asked, tugging you along with him upstairs to his room to gather the stuff he needed for the 'sleep over'.
"Sort of..." You muttered.
"You're being mysterious and I want real answers, (Y/N)." The male warned as he entered the room and immediately went searching for a bag.
"You'll get them, I swear." You answered, sitting on his bed. "But I can't risk anyone hearing me. They'll send me to an asylum in no time." You said, laughing at the image. You'd easily see Kanae ratting you out... He's always been rather salty about the idea of you and Chie being close to Shuu.

"I'm brimming with curiosity, dear." He said, zipping up the bag. How'd he get all his stuff this fast?! Damn, this man was quick. "Shall we get going?"
You nodded and got up, walking alongside him to the main entrance of the manor, smiling and nodding at Matsumae who was holing the door open for the two of you.
"Have fun, Master Shuu." She called out before closing them once again, and you made your way out of the Tsukiyama property, Shuu not far behind you.
The walk to your place was silent, aside from your friend's questions, which you refused to answer as long as you didn't set foot in the damned property you bought. You didn't want to risk anyone hearing you. God knows what they'd think.
"It's a lovely home." Shuu complimented once you arrived to your isolated house. At first, you found it quite nice to be away from other neighbours. It gave you some privacy, peace and quiet, but now, you just found it scary. If it caught you, no one would hear your screams and cries for help.
"Thanks." You muttered, climbing the three steps to arrive to the front door.
"Though, I think this window needs cleaning." Your friend added, pointing to a window a bit further off on the balcony. Humming in confusion, you set your eyes on a hand print on the glass. That wasn't yours. Your hands were smaller than that, and it wasn't Tsukiyama's, since the print was from inside. It was that thing's.
Your heart skipped a beat and Shuu took notice of your scared behavior. "Is everything alright?" He asked, before looking around for a sign of a break in. Nothing on the door, the windows... No one got into your home, apparently, yet you still looked troubled, and he didn't like it. He didn't want to see you scared like that.
"Listen well, and don't judge me too hard because I know damn well this'll sound crazy." You said, taking deep breaths. Your friend nodded silently, letting you explain everything. "There's something in that house. It's not a ghoul, it's not an animal, and it sure as hell isn't human." You muttered. "It's literally in the house. It... it torments me, it scratched me," You showed him the mark on your arm. "And it scared me through a mirror once. I think it's some sort of demon or poltergeist."
Shuu frowned at your words. Paranormal activity? He never believed in that stuff before, but if it scared you this much... "And you want me to sleep over to see if it'll still do something?" He asked, causing you to nod in agreement. That wasn't the complete truth, but you'll get to that once he fully believed you.
"Because if nothing happens, it just means I'm going crazy." You said, before unlocking the front door and stepping into the house, opening the lights as you went. Having a demon inside your home was one thing, but having a demon inside you dimly lit home was another completely different thing. You still couldn't believe you were dumb enough to sleep here for another night... And bring Shuu into all this trouble, too. He might get hurt, and you didn't want to be responsible for that. You wouldn't be able to forgive yourself if that thing managed to harm him.
He placed a hand on your shoulder, causing you to jump slightly. Turning towards him, he gave you a heartwarming smile. "Everything will be alright. I'm sure it's nothing."

Oh yeah, of course he wouldn't believe you. Just wait until the mirror, mister perfect...
Nodding, you smiled back. "Anyways, want some coffee? I can brew us some so we can chat-" Your proposal was cut short as a loud clang echoed through the kitchen, causing your heartbeat to speed up.
You had watched enough horror movies to know it wasn't a good idea to go check on the noise, but you were here for the night, weren't you? Maybe this way, Shuu'll see that you weren't lying or going crazy.
Looking back, you could confirm that the purple head heard the sound too, and the two of you made your way to the kitchen. Once there, you couldn't help but gasp once your eyes settled on the multiple knives prodding out of the wooden cupboard where you stored the tea, coffee, and other beverages.
"Looks like it heard me." You said, before attempting to take one knife out of the wood, to see if the thing wouldn't try to harm you.
To your luck, it seems as if the creature took a break, and you managed to safely place all the knives back before making coffee for a still horrified Shuu.
"How long have you been living here?" He asked, hesitatingly sitting down at your kitchen counter, watching you prepare the much needed coffee.
"It'll be four weeks tonight." You stated.
Tsukiyama's jaw dropped. Had you been dealing with what ever this was for four weeks straight? You waited four weeks to call out for help? A whole month?! You might be human, but you were braver than any ghoul he had ever met. Knowing himself, staying here for just a night will probably give him enough nightmare material for three whole months.
"After tonight, you're moving in with me." He said severely. "I've been here for ten minutes and apparently knives went flying already. I have no idea how you dealt with this for four weeks, but I'm not letting you deal with this anymore."
"Oh yeah, and a human'll survive for a week in a mansion filled with ghouls." You said sarcastically, rolling your eyes.
"We wouldn't lay a finger on you and you know it!" He exclaimed. "I'm not letting you live in a house with a damn demon, (Y/N)!" He stopped to glance at the cup of coffee you gave him before settling down next to him.
"I appreciate your concern, and-"
There was a loud bang that echoed throughout the house, apparently coming from the attic, which made you sigh. "And I'll take you up on your offer, thank you very much. But... I'd still like to stay here tonight. Just so I can say I dealt with this for a month."
Shuu groaned. "You're doing this for an accomplishment?"
You shrugged and took a sip of your hot coffee, nearly burning your tongue. "Sort of, but I did talk to two priests and they said if anything major happens tonight, it should be good enough for the church to get involved. If not, I don't know."
The ghoul eyed you skeptically. "And what do they mean by 'major'?"
"They said..." Your eyes went to the ceiling, thinking. "Uh, something like if the thing actually drags me or harms me more than a scratch, earthquakes that affect my house only, physical apparences, voices, signs of excessive ectoplasm and demonic possession... Stuff like that."
The coffee Tsukiyama made the mistake of drinking went down his windpipe instead of his esophagus, causing him to go into a coughing fit. You rubbed his back as he coughed and hacked, reminding him to take deep breaths when he could, or when he started wheezing.
Once the coffee seemed to stop the fit, he looked at you absolutely incredulous. "Demonic possession?!"
"That's... A reason why you're here. If I go berserk, I know you're strong enough to stop me. I also got this from the priests, so we should be good." You said, sliding a paper towards him. Reading the contents, he assumed it must be an exorcism ritual, from the latin on it.
You looked around the room before leaning towards Shuu, causing him to wonder what you were doing. The close proximity nearly made him loose his cool. "There's also a key of Solomon in front of my bedroom door, and under the rug at entrance in some kind of invisible paint." You whispered. "Make sure the thing stays intact. The demon can't ruin it, but the smallest line gets broken, it can't trap it anymore."
With that, you leaned back and took another sip of your coffee. Shuu's face was frozen. Eyes wide, brows furrowed, mouth agape, he stared at you unbelieving. Demonic possession? And you expected him to take you down if things went awry? Shuu couldn't manage lay a hand on you when you were supposed to be his meal, and now that he got attached to you, you expected such a thing from him?
"Possessed or not, you know I don't have it in me to hurt you, (Y/N)." He finally said, shaking his head.
"Then just do the exorcism. That is, if it happens. We never know." You answered before getting up to place your now empty cup in the sink. "It's just-" You glanced at the clock on your microwave. "fifteen hours, Shuu. We'll make it." You gave him a kind smile.
The male sighed and got up, placing his cup in the sink next to yours. "I need to go freshen up. Where's the bathroom?" He asked. You tensed up slightly before nodding behind the two of you.
"It's just out in the corridor, first room to the left. And try to avoid the mirror." You said, nervousness picking up in your voice when you pronounced the last sentence.
Your friend nodded before heading off, while you turned around to clean the dishes.
Shuu easily spotted the bathroom and entered, carefully closing the door behind him and turning on the faucet, cupping his hands and splashing the cold water onto his heating face. If someone would have asked him if he believed in the paranormal merely two hours ago, he would have laughed it off and say there was no such thing, but... That knife thing really scared him. He could just be grateful that you weren't in the kitchen when it happened. Tsukiyama didn't know what he'd do if you got hurt because of this.
He knew you were strong, both physically and emotionally, but this was a whole other level. Even a ghoul such as himself wouldn't be able to fight off a thing like this. He knew if it happened, he wouldn't be able to protect you from a force of pure evil like that for long. His chest tightened at the thought of losing you without letting you know how he felt, but he couldn't just walk out of the bathroom and go on a rant while there was a demon listening to it all.
What was he saying? You weren't going to die, and neither was he! He was just getting carried away.
Shuu watched the water spiral from the sides of the sink and into the drain while listening to the clink of the dishes you were apparently washing, thinking this through. Though, the sounds outside stopped, and before he could worry about you, gentle tapping echoed through the eerily silent bathroom.
Lifting his head, Tsukiyama nearly jumped at the sight of his own reflection. Huffing, he smiled at himself. "Du calme," He said, taking deep breaths and watching as his reflection mimicked him. "È solo il tuo riflesso." He added, trying to reassure himself.
Looking at himself, he passed a damp hand through his hair, stopping halfway when he remembered something you had said.
And try to avoid the mirror.
Didn't you tell him something about that thing tormenting you through a mirror once?
He didn't have the time to answer his own question, since he noticed his reflection didn't seem right. His gaze fell on the reflection's left arm, noticing it wasn't raised above his head like his.
"Now that's just fucked up." He muttered in fluent English, watching as his echo started to smile at him. A sweet smile that he would usually give you, that grew into that knowing smirk he used to tease you with, which just grew furthermore into a grin of insanity that he promised himself you'd never see.
Horrified, Shuu made the mistake to blink and stumble backwards. Once his gaze returned to the mirror, he covered his mouth, a yelp of terror nearly escaping his throat.
Crimson irises peered back at him, blood lust evident in those ghoulish eyes as his reflection licked his lips, horribly failing at cleaning all of that blood running down the lower part of his face and neck. The familiar metallic scent hit his nose and he loudly gasped at the recognizable smell.
His hands became sticky, and Shuu lifted them away from his face to notice the red liquid sticking to them. In the mirror, he could see your lifeless corpse hanging in the shower, neck and stomach ripped to bloody shreds that barely clung to the rest of your body. He hadn't done that. Please, someone convince him that he didn't just do that.
Shaking like a leaf, he jumped when his reflection let out a terrifying, inhuman screech and the ghoul didn't hesitate to bolt out of the bathroom. He immediately headed for the kitchen, the house still completely silent aside from his panting and small whimpers.
Once he skidded to a stop in the room, all sounds seemed to return like he had become deaf for a small while, and he let out a sigh of ultimate relief when he saw you drying away the rest of the dishes you had washed.
Tsukiyama didn't think twice before wrapping his arms around you and burying his face into your neck. He never felt so happy to know that someone's neck was intact ever in his life.
You screamed at the contact and only calmed down once familiar purple hair appeared in your peripheral vision. Only then did you notice that the poor man was trembling and that his breathing pattern was off. Really off.
"Shuu, what happened?" You tried to ask calmly, only to have the question come out as a whisper that Tsukiyama nearly missed.
"Mirror." He whimpered. That was more than enough explanations for you, and you turned around to hug the poor boy back. You sort of knew the feeling the mirror gave him, even if you didn't know what it made him see.
"It's okay." You said, rubbing his back. "What ever you saw, it wasn't real. Nothing in there was real."
He had no idea how he'd be able to stay for the night. He didn't know if he'd even make it through the night while staying sane. How the hell did you deal with this for a month?
"Let's leave." He said. If you refused, he wouldn't hesitate to beg. "This is enough proof. Let's get the priests to deal with it and just leave, please."
"I can't, Shuu. They need concrete proof, and not just ghost stories." You said, feeling bad for the poor guy. "I'm really sorry I dragged you into this. You can leave if you want and just check up on me tomorrow morning."
Were you nuts?! Shuu wouldn't leave you even if it meant his death! What kind of man would he be to leave the person he loves behind in a situation like this?!
"I'm not leaving you to be all alone in this house." He growled. "I might be scared but it's better to be scared with someone than to be terrified alone."
"Well aren't you a gentleman." You said, smiling. He had no idea how you could smile while evil was lurking everywhere in the house, but he really appreciated your attempt to lift the mood.
"We should sleep in the living room. It's closer to the door." He said. If the two of you needed to bolt out of there, he'd rather be close to the exit.
...And if he needed to do the exorcism, you said there was a key of whatever there to trap you in, too. But he didn't want to think about that.
••••
The rest of the night went by rather smoothly. And according to you, too smoothly. While Tsukiyama tried to cheer you up that maybe the demon got satisfied by giving him a scare, you had your doubts. There were no banging, no flying objects, no illusions, no whispers in tongues you didn't recognize... The calm scared you more than the storm itself.
While Shuu watched some kind of european movie he found on the TV, you couldn't help but think of every scenario possible. It's not like you could watch the movie, since it was in English- You were okay with english, but the brittish and scottish and irish acccents in it just made it impossible to understand for your mind.
"Don't think about it." You heard Shuu mutter once he noticed you thinking. "We'll get through this, just nine hours to go, right?"
You glanced at him, spotting that sweet smile on his face. You nodded, and felt his hand press against your shoulder. You let him do whatever he was planning, which ended up with you cuddling to his side as the two of you fixed your gaze on the TV screen.
You got lost in your thoughts once again, but this time, it wasn't about the demon. It was about the ghoul.

Black Wind, White Lotus
In this world, there are haves and have nots. The former are pureblooded humans, some of whom are capable of manipulating qi, the mysterious energy that flows through every living creature, to miraculous results that defy the laws of nature and physics. Wen Feili was one such cultivator. However, she allied with the have nots- the anthropomorphic hybrids incapable of channeling qi-and dabbled in forbidden demonic arts, seeking to change the very composition of reality. This did not end well for her, and she was consumed by her own flames. A decade later, far in the northwestern mountains, her daughter Wen Fengli is working as a lowly servant of the minor Shuangshan sect. In between sweeping the floor and avoiding bullies, she secretly trains with a wooden sword, hoping to become a warrior cultivator at some point in the future. However, since she's part-human, part-wolf, it's just a pipe dream. ....or so she bitterly thought. However, one day a mysterious amulet that belonged to her mother falls into her hands. A deranged old master, a terrible conspiracy, a mysterious past? None of that matters to tomboyish wolfgirl, who only seeks to become stronger. She embarks on a journey of adventure and self-discovery, towards the mysterious southern lands where pure demi-humans are said to live...as spectre of war once again envelops the world of man. This is a Chinese-themed fantasy story set in a fictional world. You can classify it as xianxia, if you wish, but it's a rather low fantasy variant; the heavenly realm is silent, no one reached immortality in generations, and magical artifacts of old are locked away and feared. Magical beasts and spirits have been driven to the corners of civilisation, and "ordinary" abilities such as flying or controlling swords through telekinesis are considered spectacular feats. The main plot of this book revolves around a kemonomimi girl who seeks power, no matter the cost. This story also features multiple character pov, and will not always follow the perspective of the mc- there are two major plotlines, one connected to conspiracy and war ongoing in the political background of the presented world, and the other focusing on the main character's physical and metaphorical journey.
