《The Brutal Life Of A Delinquent》Dragon assault: part 2

3rd person POV:
Marcus runs for his life away from Ivory.
Marcus: I know I wanted to be chased by girls but not like this!
With some distance between them, Marcus attempts to open doors to try to barricade himself in, but to his dismay there all lock.
Marcus: Come on, come on!
Lady luck finally smiled upon him when one door finally opened.
Marcus: Yes!
Entering what seems to be the kitchen, Marcus closes the door and barricades it with a nearby chair.
Marcus: Phew...
(Thunk)
Ivory's sword pierces through the door.
Marcus: AAAAHHHHH!!
Ivory then peeks through the hole she made.
Ivory:(glares)
Marcus: At least you didn't say, "here's johnny".
Ivory: Here's Johnny?
Marcus:(upset) Oh no, she said the thing!
Ivory ignored Marcus's ramblings and began to stab the door so she could get in.
Slowly walking back as she came closer and closer to getting in, Marcus looked around to see something he could use.
Marcus: You've hung out with the cruelest bastard in the world for years now, think!
Marcus: What would (Y/n) do? Punch her! But she has a sword...
Finally, Ivory broke into the room as Marcus saw a pot filled with water.
Quickly grabbing it, he tosses the water at her.
Marcus: Eat hot water!
(Splash)
Ivory:...
The water was not hot, but at least he could claim to have made a woman wet.
Marcus:... I... I guess drink would have been more appropriate...
Ivory:(glares)
Marcus: I'm sorry, I'm sorry!
Not interested in hearing him apologizing, Ivory punched him in the crotch then tossed him over the little kitchen island in the middle of the room.
Marcus:(grunts)
Marcus: You're so strong... And tiny...
Chicken: Baka!
Marcus:?
Looking in front of him, he sees a caged chicken, probably meant to be tomorrow's dinner.
With an idea popping into his head, he opens the cage and grabs the chicken as Ivory jumps onto the kitchen island.
Ivory: What are you do-
Marcus: Chicken attack!
(Marcus vs Ivory theme)
Throwing the chicken at Ivory, Marcus watches as the scared animal begins to peck and flap its wings in Ivory's face.
Ivory stumbles back to try and escape the chicken but this becomes her literal downfall as she falls down the kitchen island and smashes the back of her head against the kitchen counter, making her lose consciousness.
Marcus:...
Standing up, Marcus sees his apparent victory.
Marcus: Holy shit... I won...
Chicken: Baka!
Marcus: Haha, thank you chicken!
Marcus then began walking up to Ivory to gloat, but this made lady luck frown because he immediately tripped onto Ivory.
Suddenly Leona entered the kitchen to see Marcus on top of a sleeping Ivory.
Marcus: Leona!
Marcus:(realizes the position he is in)

Marcus: It's not what it looks like! I wish it was, but it's not!
Leona:...
Leona: Why did I bother trying to save you...?
She leaves, with Marcus quickly following behind.
Marcus: Don't leave me!
In another part of the palace, Anna had hidden inside one of the many rooms.
A large room with fancy furniture fitting for a Queen.
Many desks, cabinets, and dressers in the room.
Near the window, was a table with two chairs and a chessboard set up and ready to be played.
What caught Anna's attention was a certain old book.
Walking up to it, she began reading it.
It didn't take long for her to realize that the book was the journal of the original crime boss that started it all.
Looking around, she found a few more journals of other crime bosses of the past.
Each one of them not only contained the in's and out's of being a crime boss, but also tricks and secrets to help the future leaders.
Anna:...
Just in case, Anna began taking pictures of the pages of as many of the journals she could.
Unfortunately, she was stopped halfway through when the door opened to the room causing her to turn around in surprise to see Trish the bolt of god.
Trish: I see you're trying to gain information about our organization.
Trish: What are you going to do? Use that information to help the police catch us?
Anna: Perhaps...
Trish: And I thought you were the smart one... Do you not realize that the police are under our control.
Anna: I guessed as much, but there's only so much you can do against the people.
Trish: True, but there are ways around them.
It didn't take a genius to figure out Anna was nervous. Trish then sheathed her blade.
Trish: Unlike the others, I don't wish to kill or even harm you.
Anna: Why?
Trish: To you not know how needed you are?
Anna: What are you talking about?
Trish: Gin has fallen apart, because of that, the areas under its control have fallen with it.
Trish: You should know what Gin did to those parts of the world and what will happen to them if Gin doesn't rise again.
Anna: T-the people can handle it themselves. Have some faith.
Trish: I have faith they will eventually, but how long will it take until he actually happens?
Trish: How much damage will be done before that.
Anna: If you want Gin to have a leader, then get someone else.
Trish: Unlike our brother organization to the west, who vote on their leaders we here have a more traditional way.
Trish: The Queen would never let a stranger take the position but the daughter of Gin? That's a different story.

Anna: I'm not a criminal...
Trish: Can you really call it that with what is in store of the job?
Looking at the chess table, Trish walks up to it and takes the seat with the window directly behind the chair.
Trish: Sit.
Taking a moment to consider her next move, Anna eventually takes a seat across from her, hesitantly but still does it.
Trish: Would you like to play a game while we chat?
Anna:?
Trish: When Jaune and I were younger, I would play a game with him whenever he got too nervous to talk.
Trish: It's something I learned from being his sibling.
Anna: Fine...
(Anna vs Trish theme)
With Trish having the white pieces and Anna the black, the two began.
As the two played, they talked.
Trish: Your stepbrother is a fool for thinking he could defeat us.
Anna: He can beat you. He beat Gin.
Trish: Hmm... True. Let me rephrase it then.
Trish: He's a fool for thinking defeating us is a good thing.
Trish: He'd be doing more damage than good.
Anna: I don't think knowing that would change what he would do. He might even do it because of that.
Trish: He doesn't know? Do any of them know?
Anna: Leona might but I'm not sure about the depth of her knowledge.
Trish: Why haven't you said anything?
Anna: I haven't had a reason. I believed that the damage caused by the loss of Gin would heal on its own.
Anna: I never thought (Y/n) would go up against Ale.
Anna: In the end, there is no point in saying anything. I'd only make him want to go after all the organizations.
Trish: You think he can actually take on the challenge?
Anna: Yes. He's beaten Gin, he'll tear down Ale, I just hope he doesn't go hunt down Rum.
Trish: Best case scenario, Rum takes control of Ale and Gin's resources in that possibility.
Anna:...
Trish:...
Anna: Can I ask you something?
Trish: Yes?
Anna: What happens if I deny being the new leader of Gin?
Trish: You'd be killed for all the information you know.
Anna:...
Trish: My turn to ask a question.
Anna:...
Trish: What would you do if all three organizations fell to the hands of that... Dragon...
Trish: Would you simply watch it all burn?
Anna: I... I might have just watched it burn out of fear of doing something.
Anna: But (Y/n) has thought me to be tough...
Anna: I think I would...
She leans in close to Trish and whispers into her ear her idea.
Trish:...
Trish:!
Leaning back into her chair Anna watches as Trish's expression becomes colder.
Trish: I thought you were the smart and reasonable one...
Trish: But you're just as mad as that woman who betrayed her group to pursue some fantasy because of that Dragon.
Trish: Just as foolish as that boy who follows that same Dragon believing he's safe around him...
Trish: There's a reason these things were set up the way they were.
Trish: Could you go through with it? To succeed, you'd have to be as merciless and as strong as that Dragon.
Anna: I don't want to do it... But I can't let it all burn...
Anna: I'm not as strong or as cruel as (Y/n), but...
As she spoke, Trish stood up and placed a hand on the hilt of her sword.
The moment her hand touched the hilt, three loud bangs went off.
(Bang, bang, bang)
Trish:!?
Anna:...
Trish slowly looked down to see three bullet holes in her stomach. Her outfit began turning red as her blood oozed out of her body and soaked into the fabric.
Applying pressure to the wound, Trish attempted to stop the bleeding while stumbling back towards the window.
Anna then stood up with her gun in hand. Still smoking after shooting it.
When she went to whisper to Trish, she took out her gun, just in case, while Trish had her guard down.
Anna now walked up to a nearby piece of cloth to wipe her fingerprints off the gun.
Her body slightly trembled with each step she took.
While Trish stared at her shocked as her head began getting light.
Anna: T-to be as cruel a-and strong as (Y/n).
Anna: I'll ha-have to l-learn by being h-his sibling...
Leaving the gun on the bed, Anna walked up to a slowly dying Trish.
Anna: You were going to kill me f-for knowing too m-much.
Anna: S-so I hope you understand what I'm about to d-do to you for knowing too much.
Trish:!
Anna, as she once did to her father, kicked Trish, sending her falling through the window.
After hearing a thump echo through the night sky, she looked down to see Trish's dead body.
Breathing heavily, Anna clenched her chest, trying to calm her breathing, but failing each step.
She bit her lip to stop herself from screaming. After bitting so hard, she began bleeding, Anna finally calmed her breathing.
Walking out of the room, she saw Marcus and Leona run up to her.
Marcus breathed heavily due to all the running.
Marcus:(pant)... We heard...(pant)... Loud noises...(pant)...you...okay?
Anna said nothing and simply hugged Marcus.
Marcus: Uhh... Okay...
Leona: It's okay.
She placed a hand on her shoulder to comfort her.
Leona: It's over. (Y/n) can take care of the rest.
Anna:(mind) That's what I'm afraid of...

The Patchwork Realms
Athos is a good dog. He likes frisbee, bacon, and his family (SmolFriend, Mom, and Dad). He's not so keen on falling through an interdimensional portal to a fantasy world where floating boxes tell you that you've just been given status as the 'Supreme Exemplar' of your species, a powerful package of abilities that includes human-level intelligence. Sure, being smart is nice but less so when it comes with the need to survive in a land made from bits of different dimensions stitched together like patches in a quilt. A thousand species, a thousand lands, sorcery and super science rubbing elbows, wars and intrigue everywhere...it's exhausting for a good dog who just wants to go home! Note that this is a work in progress with lots of fiddly numbers so I will occasionally need to go back and fix errors, and this might affect events of earlier chapters. I'll try to keep this to a minimum and will post a note whenever it happens. [participant in the Royal Road Writathon challenge]

Two Sides
Heroes and monsters are the staples of fantasy. Swords and magic, fairies and dragons, adventures and death; all things went hand in hand in some worlds not our own. Elaine Dawn grew up listening to those stories as a child, imagining, aspiring, yet as she grew she slowly lost her dreams and became detached from what the world could be, slowly becoming one with the world that was. Yet one night she found herself in a dream that became reality, and oh there they were; heroes and monsters, swords of steel, magic of tales, fairies and dragons of old, and adventures that held riches and death both. She had no fantastic magic, no supernatural strength. All she had was herself, her coin, and her life. But that was enough. As she stared into the distance, to the mountain-sized horrors of the night, she smiled and tossed her coin once again.
