《Hey Pretty Stranger Sal Fisher x reader x Larry Johnson》Chapter 8 - Dinner with the neighbors (3/3)

After dinner Sal and I headed to my room, he told me he wanted to "Tell me something important. Privately."
So I agreed, well, not really. He kind of just grabbed my wrist and pulled me to where I told him my room was. I just let him.
Sal finally let's go of my wrist as we finally reach the inside of my room. Sal closes the door then turns to me. I look at him in slight confusion, the silence was kind of either freaking me out or is just really awkward.
"So, what did you have to tell me that is so secret?"
I question with an eyebrow raised whilst I look him dead in the eyes.
When he doesn't respond I begin to get a little irritated.
"Hello? Earth to Sal!"
I clap my hands in front of his face and he seems to snap out of whatever day dream he was just having.
"Welcome back, blueberry head."
"You know I don't like it when you call me that."
Sal finally speaks up rolling his eyes with a very tiny smile, you can always tell when he's smiling because his mask shifts. Not to mention his eyes squint.
If I didn't have such a queen eye I would have never noticed it.
"I know, that's mostly why I do it."
I retort back with a smug look on my face. It makes me happy that we are getting along.
"You know, I get why you...you know - slapped me - earlier. You were right. I deserved it."
Sal looks away from me and walks over to the left side of my bed; furthest from the door.
"I told you-"
Sal cuts me off.
"Your always right."
He doesn't look at me, he just sits down on my bed and stares at the wall.
'Now I feel bad. No. I shouldn't, he did deserve it...right?'
I walk over to Sal and sit beside him on my bed. I glance at him, then stare at the same wall he's staring at.
"I'm sorry."
I apologise. I did feel quite bad, I think I took it too far.
"What, Why?"
Sal now looks at me with confusion.
I look back into his eyes then back to the wall.
"I took it too far when I hit you. I'm sorry."

I briefly explain, what Sal said to me next caught me off guard.
"I'm sorry too."
My eyes slightly widened as I hear those words come out of his mouth. I sit there basking in the silence, repeating his words in my mind to make sure I heard them correctly.
"You hate me more now...don't you..?"
Sal sighs, a sad sigh. I look at him and smile.
"No, I'm just shocked...The Sal fisher is apologising. To me no less."
I joke with a giggle.
"It's quite alot to take in."
I laugh, and Sal laughs too.
He looks back at me and slowly a smile creeps it's way onto his face. Even though I can't see it because of his mask, I know it's there.
"By the way you forgot your binder at school. It fell out of your bag when that 'incident' happened."
"You took my binder?"
"Only to give it back."
Sal says a little nervousness in his voice.
'Sal Fisher? Nervous? No way. Who would've thought.'
"Your giving it back?"
I think I'm in shock that he's being so nice to me. Considering I just keep repeating what Sal is saying because I can't find my own words.
"That's what I just said, isn't it?"
Sal contiues to leave his smile on his face as he shakes his head lightly.
"I can't believe you just said that."
I stare at him. Sal finally confronts me.
"Would you stop repeating everything I say?"
He chuckles.
'His laugh is so cute...No! Not cute.'
"Uh- right! Yeah, I can do that."
My cheeks flush red in embarrasment and I look down at my bed sheets.
"Your binder is in my room, if you want to come get it with me?"
Sal offers with a smile as he gets up from the bed and looks down at me.
'Me...in Sal's room...I'm all in.'
"Sure!"
I said a little too excited.
"I mean, sure."
I look down once more.
He laughs and I look up at him, he smiles at me then begins to walk out of my room. I stand up but stand there just watching him walk out.
But he stops just before exiting my room.
"You comin' ?"
"Oh uh- yeah,"
I quickly walk over to him.
We were about to begin our walk to his apartment but first, we had to let our parents know.

I walk over to my mom whilst Sal walks over to his dad.
My mom is busy talking to my dad so I tap her shoulder and she looks at me.
"Yes dear?"
"Can I go on a quick walk with Sal?"
She looks at me then glances at Sal who has just finished talking to his dad, I see his dad nod towards Sal. My mom looks back to me with a smirk.
"Of course you can."
"Thanks mom!"
Sal and I walk to the front door together and he opens it for me.
"M'lady."
"Wow, such a gentlemen."
I giggle and walk out. Sal follows closly behind and we finally walk to Sal's apartment. Since he's my neighbor we only had to walk like 15 feet. Sal opens his apartment door with his spare key he kept in his pant pocket.
This time I open the door for Sal.
"M'lady."
I repeat his exact words, whilst he repeats mine.
"Such a gentlemen."
He chuckles and walks in.
He leads me to his room and we walk inside, Sal walks over to his desk whilst I look around his room at all the posters and decorations he had strung around it.
He had a ton of hard rock band posters on his walls. He had three of the exact same band though, just different designs of the poster but still made for the same band; 'Sanity Falls'.
"You like Sanity Falls?"
I ask Sal as he walks up beside me.
"Yeah, you know them?"
Sal questions me right back.
"Yeah, I only know of them because of my old bestfriend. He's super into hard rock aswell."
I look over to Sal.
"He?"
Sal looks back at me now.
"Yeah! His names Damien. He's super sweet when you get to know him. You guys would get along great."
I smile.
Sal doesn't respond, instead he just hands me my binder and begins to walk back out of his room.
'Man, is he moody.'
"Sal- where are you going?"
I question as I quickly jog to catch up to him.
Sal wouldn't stop walking so I grabbed his arm gently and made him stop.
"Sal...what's wrong?"
I look into his crystal blue eyes with worry.
"Nothing."
Sal mumbles and looks away.
"Sal. I know something is wrong. Talk to me,"
"I said nothing,"
Sal repeats softly. I make a 'tsk' sound then give him a hug.
"I don't know about you but hugs always make me feel better!"
I smile as my face is burried into his chest and my arms are hugging tightly around his neck.
"And it's okay if your not comfortable telling me what's wrong, but I'm here if you need me."
I finally begin to pry myself off of him and away from the hug but that's when Sal quickly returns the hug; wrapping his arms around my waist.
"Oh.."
I squeak in surprise but hug him back anyway.
I giggle at his reaction and hear Sal mumble into the crook of my neck.
"You smell good."
Not going to lie, that kind of caught me off guard.
"I smell, good?"
I smile and place a hand in his hair.
'Poor boy just needs some comfort.'
"Mhm...like vanilla and roses."
He mumbles in his usual raspy, deep voice.
'Oh gosh...his voice makes my knees weak.'
I smile even wider as he hugs me tighter, I hug him tighter aswell.
We stay like that for a good minute or two before we pull away and decide to head back to my apartment.
Once we both enter my apartment Sal's dad walks over to us both. He looks to Sal and smirks. Sal turns bright red and looks at me then back at his dad.
'What in the world are those two doing?'
My mom finally walks over to me and gently moves me away from the door.
"Well, time to go son."
Sal's dad, Henry, states with a gentle smile.
I stand in between my mom and dad whilst Sal and his dad begin to open the door but not before Sal turns and walks up to me. He pulls me into a very tight hug but it's comforting in a way. I hug him back and then after about ten seconds we let go.
"Good night, Y/N."
Sal looks down at me, not caring that our parents were watching us.
"Good night Sal..."
I smile and he let's go of my waist, he walks over to the door and his dad thanks my mom again for dinner before walking out.
Once the front door finally shuts my mom speaks up with a smug look on her face.
"Well Sal is a nice boy."
She nudges my shoulder.
I continue to stare at the door whilst replying,
"Yeah..."
I smile to myself, a goofy smile.

Delicate as Glass
[participant in the Royal Road Writathon challenge] Nuri, an [Assistant Glassworker], only has a single Skill. It’s really not fair. He’s worked in the hot shop his entire life, following in his father’s footsteps after his parents passed away, but he’s stuck. Despite possessing above-average talent as an artisan, he still hasn’t shed his [Assistant] status, gained a second Skill, or even leveled enough to reach the first Threshold. Besides, he’s bored; most days he daydreams of adventure and becoming a hero, or pines for the renown that’s sure to be his if he evolves his Class into a [Master Glass Smith], but nothing ever changes—until suddenly, fate strikes, and nothing is ever the same again. These days, Nuri sees more magic, prestige, and adventure than he can handle as he gets swept up in realm-shaking conspiracies and desperate fights for his life. Maybe a boring life wasn’t so bad after all. Disclaimers: 1) Names were mostly chosen through random generators and aren’t necessarily final. If they seem derivative or boring, blame RNG. 2) Skills, Classes, levels, and the entire system is currently a work in progress; please be kind if it’s not very well fleshed out yet. 3) This is the first full-length novel I've set out to write without a single plot point ready. I had nothing in mind other than a recent visit to a hot shop. Molten glass is pretty awesome. 4) Related, I know much less about glass than I’d like. I did some research, but mistakes are bound to happen. If you have a correction, thanks! Please be polite about it. 5) The prose is my experimental attempt at first-person, present tense. I realize it may not be everyone’s preference, but I hope you’ll give it a try anyway!
