Sarah's POV
In the morning i woke up before Velvet did, and as much as i wanted to stay in bed with her, i decided that it would be best that i went and finished the electrical wiring of Lilith. Today was the last day of the tournament, and if there was a day for a big attack to happen, then today was the day.
Even though it was nothing more then a theory that they could be attacking us on the final day of the tournament, i really didn't want to take any chances, i had to make sure Lilith was working again today, and that she would be able to protect everyone, including Velvet.
When i got to the entrance of the hanger, i was bit surprised, and pissed to see that a certain white haired specialist trying to pick the lock to the hanger door. While i wanted to yell at Winter for trying to break in i still needed her help, so i walked up to her and showed her the key,
"I think if your going to try to break in, you should at least get this, or start sooner then 6 in the morning." She slowly turn to look at me giving her a simple grin, and i wanted to punch her right there, but i keep my emotions in check as i unlocked the door.
"Come on, we have plenty of work left to do before the rest of your engineers arrive," I said to her as i walked in to see that Lilith was right where we left her last night, and she was already far better then she was a couple days ago. If I'm lucky enough i could fix enough of her electrical parts that she could be reactivated and then she could would to fix herself as well, granted the amount of batteries that was needed would be a lot. But it was a start.
"Winter can you help me with the wiring, we are almost done with the repairs." I turn around and i see that Winter has barely moved from the spot right in front of the hanger entrance, i waited for her and she just stood there. I rolled my eyes as i moved behind her and pushed her inside,
"W-What do you think your doing" She screamed out, and i couldn't help but sigh in response to this,
"Do i really need to explain that i need your help to finish the repairs, i know that your not an engineer, but the least you can do is shine a light for me, or else this is going to be a long day." She gave me a slight nod as we got to work on Lilith.
After a few hours have passed, i finished the last bit of the electrical wiring, and i saw that Winter was starting to get tired from holding a flashlight for me, so i decided to tease her a bit on that, "You know for being an Atlas Specialist, you really are struggling to hold up a flashlight, why is that." I cheekily grinned at her and she turned away from and i noticed the noticeable red tint of embarrassment on her face, and i had to stop myself from laughing at that.

"Shut it, you dunce, this is no time for your teasing, just finish whatever your doing already," She muttered out, and i just shrugged at her as i closed the hatch to the electrical parts i was tinkering with.
"Well, good for you, i am done with everything, let's start her up, and pray it works." I said to her, and she had a look of bewilderment and i hopped inside of Lilith, as i turned her on, at first nothing happened, but then i remembered something.
"Oh i forget the most important part, this could be troublesome." Winter seemed slightly concerned about what i forgot, like i accidentally started a nuclear reaction or something.
"So dare i ask what you forgot about, you didn't just blow us up did you?" I stare at her seriously until i jump out and with as serious voice i could muster, i said to her,
"I forgot to put in her batteries." She looked at me blankly for awhile and only responded with a very sophisticated, "huh" I slap her on the shoulder as i walked by and i grabbed from a pile of batteries i made personally and put it into her make shift reactor.
"Alright second time is the charm" I declared to nobody in particular, as i jumped back inside and started Lilith up.
At first nothing happened and i felt my heart sink, but then lights started to flicker on, and soon i noticed subtle shifts and noises were turning on,
"W-W-Welcome back Pilot Sarah." Her voice was distorted, but one thing was for sure, Lilith was back. I got to work immediately as i started to press several buttons on the consoles around the chassis.
"Lilith, do a full diagnostics and make a priority lists for repairs, we need you to be operational in hours, I'll send a document containing all the information you missed while you were out." I heard the soft whirring of machinery and her doing calculations, after awhile she talked to me,
"Sarah, i am about 64% combat efficiency, but i can repair most of the large scale damage on my own, i will send you a blueprint of what needs to be completed before i have returned to 100% combat efficiency." I nodded in response and i pulled out my scroll as i waited for the transfer, after awhile a notification showed up and i opened it to see everything that needed to be done.
I heard murmuring outside and i looked at the time, it was time for the rest of the engineers to show up, but for now i had to turn off Lilith before i had a mess on my hands with Lilith being active again.
"Alright Lilith for now i have to shut you down, but it's good to see your awake again." I turned her off almost immediately but i heard a soft 'i will await your return' before she shut down completely.
I jump out of Lilith and walk up to Winter who looked at me suspiciously, and i was confused why she was giving me that look, "What's up with that look?" I asked her, and she just nodded at me,

"Nothing, just confused on something, but it doesn't matter, we should get to work, and hopefully those new plans should help us." I opened my scroll and looked over then, and i felt a smile grow over my face, because i knew that they would help.
I then gathered everyone together, and revealed to them the new plans and they were confused as to why 'i' changed them, but i told them that it was for the better, some where more frustrated then others, but some took the schematics in stride and quickly got to work.
In a matter of hours we were able to get through the shopping list of problems to fix, roughly from what Lilith gave me, she should be around 90% combat efficiency. I was extremely happy until i heard someone was starting to scream at everyone, i noticed that one of the engineers who were coming back from whatever they were doing and he was getting everyone's attention
"Everyone check out the most recent 1v1, hurry!" Some people were hesitant but soon some pulled out their scrolls and i did as well, i pulled out the latest video of it and it was a 1v1 against Yang and Mercury, this spelled trouble for sure. I watched the video and i saw that at the end, when Yang won she attacked Mercury while he was on the ground, everyone was shocked at the video and i was too. But something didn't feel right, i re-winded the video and zoomed in on Yang her attention wasn't even on the floor where Mercury was, she was looking above him, and i noticed that when she punched she hit more of the air then him.... something was off.
I turned towards Winter, "Can i trust you not to do anything behind my back, i need to see my student to make sure she is okay." Winter seemed confused, but i just took her answer as a yes as i ran out of the hanger. I kept on running until i was outside of team RWBY's dorm, and i noticed that General Ironwood was about to enter, and he noticed my tired form,
"Miss Sarah, what are you doing, aren't you supposed to be working on Lilith?" he asked confused, i took a second to catch my breathe, but when i did i stood up straight and walked ahead of the general.
"I should be working on Lilith, but i need to make sure that my student is okay, and i assume that is why your here, i appreciate the concern, but i will handle this." He nodded at me but then he responded back to me,
"Very well i will leave you to deal with your own student, but keep this in mind, you do have to tell her that she is disqualified from the tournament, is that understood." I nodded at him as i walked past him, and went to open the door to team RWBY.
"Understood General, have a good day." He gave a polite bow to me as he turned away, i ignored him and knocked on the door to team RWBY, i waited until someone opened the door, and there was a surprised Ruby waiting on the door, she kept it closed enough that nobody could see me, so i take the chance to talk to Ruby.
"Ruby, how is your sister holding up" i whisper to her, she just nodded as she opened the door and i could see that Yang was extremely depressed looking, when she looked up to see me she was surprised and immediately stood up.
"Miss Sarah, what are you doing here?" I felt my eye twitched at her as i knocked her upside the head, she looked at me confused, and i just let out a heavy sigh.
"I said it over and over before, please don't call me Miss, makes me feel older then i actually am." Everybody was quiet for awhile, before they started laughing, i looked at them all confused, but i guess it made sense anyways.
I wait for their laughter to die down, and when it did, i looked at Yang and when straight to the point, "Yang I'm afraid that you are disqualified from the tournament." Everyone in the room looked at me in shock and i couldn't help but feel bad for being the bearer of bad news.
"I'm sorry that i had to tell you that Yang, but no matter what happened, truth of the matter is that you broke a kids legs, so as much as i would love to see you win the tournament, rules are rules." Yang just looked at me confused and stared at her hands, and she tightly clenched them together as she looked at me,
"I know how the recording looked, but i know what i saw, he attacked me." This caught my attention, Yang was a natural trouble maker, but she wasn't much of a liar. Something didn't add up.
"I do believe there is more to the fight then what meets the eye, but for now, just rest up, you've all earned it, and make sure to prepare for next year, if there is a next year." i muttered the last part under my breathe as i nodded to the rest of the girls and i walked out.
I walked into the courtyard and i felt that something wasn't adding up, i thought of all the possibilities, as to what it could mean, and it felt like i spent hours trying to fit all of the pieces together, but it felt like i was thinking so hard that the world was starting to rumble around me. It wasn't until that i felt the ground under me shake and the air thicken did i realize that something was wrong.
I heard in the distance a loud screech and i looked to the arena in the distance to notice a nevermore on top of it, i felt my heart drop. And i felt all life drain from me as i realized something,
"Velvet is in the arena" I screamed out as i started running to bullhead so that i could find her, i had to find her.

Synergy
Dear Inspector, Please accept this letter as my formal resignation from being a Player. Hey! Laugh all you want, but I had to try. With no rules down here, who's to say that I can't resign? Anyway, my reasons are simple: I'm neither a gamer nor a hero. You got the wrong person for the job. Sure, the pay is decent and I could pretty much live like a king if, you know, I wasn't so busy trying to survive. I have major concerns about the demonic dagger bound to my soul too. Come to think of it, I've never asked to be transported to this fantasy land either and would like you to return me home, thank you very much. I don't want supernatural powers, I don't want to complete quests after quests, and I don't want to be your test subject anymore. What? I'm not whining, you're whining. Stop making excuses and let me leave already. Thank you for your understanding, and I hope you'll find a better replacement after I'm gone for good. Sincerely,Randel, the Mad Painter What to expect from Synergy: --> Some GameLit elements are presented subversively. If you want the protagonist to “play the game” properly, this might not be the story for you.--> No filler chapters; the story's structure is already plotted out. It's going to have six story arcs.--> Character development happens slowly, over many chapters. Don't expect a perfect protagonist right off the bat.--> Some romance, but it will never be the main focus.--> Humor and dark elements in equal measure, but not to the extent that I’d label this story as “Comedy” or “Grimdark”. ... and lots and lots of Author's Notes. See you on the other side of the portal!
8 107Arcane Regeneration
Transported to another world, with a system that lets you take your fate into your own hands. Inside a dungeon, who knows how far away from human civilization, where the only way out is through. Join Noah in his desperate struggle and find out what this new world has in store for him. I am REALLY bad at synopses. What I will aim for in my story: 1. Logical choices 2. Good character development ( first story, might mess it up :D ) 3. I have epic plans for the future (not an actual aim but just saying :D ) What I will avoid like the plague: 1. Characters' IQ suddenly dropping just to further the story. 2. Whimpy main character 3. Stupid situations that can be avoided by basic communication and clearing things up. All in all, no generic trash anime protagonist and stereotypes. [participant in the Royal Road Writathon challenge]
