《The Betrayed Pilot (Titanfall x RWBY)》Chapter 8

I silently watched from afar as i witnessed just what i was working with. I was watching Jaune struggling to fight against Cardin's predictable attacks, and each second i watched him fight made me internally cringe and made me wonder how he even got into this school.
I watched as Cardin finished Jaune off with an swing to his chest that would of been extremely easy for most people to dodge underneath it. With or with out training. I just sigh to myself because i realize not only do i have a lot of work to help Jaune, but Cardin as well, despite how the more time i spend with Cardin the more i hate him.
I'm broken out of my thoughts when the ringer blares out, i look up to the screen to the other side of the arena and i see that Jaune is in the red and Cardin barely had any damage. "Now class, i will remind you again so you don't make a mistake during training and injure or kill someone. But if your aura reaches the red then you lost, so stop fighting."
Everybody started to pack up because it was the end of class and everyone wanted to go home since it was Friday now, but i turned towards Jaune who was on the ground still and he looked like he was disappointed in himself. "Jaune, i want you to stay after class so i can talk to you in private."
The few students that remained looked at me confused, including Jaunes teammates, but i give them all a look that told them to not worry about it for now.
The rest of the students slowly filters out, including Jaune's team. I walk over towards a dejected Jaune who was still on the floor where he lost to Cardin.
"Jaune, pick yourself up" he groans at me, but he makes an effort to slowly stand up and it's obvious that he is in pain. It hurt me a bit to see one of my students struggling so much, so it was my job to help him.
"So what did you want from me Miss Sarah?" I let out an annoyed sound because i hate it when students call me Miss, or Miss Sarah.
"How many times do i have to remind you kids, just call me Sarah. I may be your teacher but I'm not all that much older then you." I cross my arms and lean back a bit.
"Uh, right" he gives me a simple head nod and he goes back to looking down at the floor.
"Jaune, to be honest, i have no clue why Ozpin choose you to be leader of team JNPR, let alone how you even got into this school, but i have one question for you." He looked back up towards me in slight confusion, and he looked a bit hurt at my comment.

"And what would that be, uh Sarah?" He looked more nervous then he needed to be, like i was going to discover a secret or something from him.
"How willing are you to learn, and more specifically are you willing to spend more time with me after class to learn how to actually fight?" I look directly into his eyes, and he just averted my gaze, and i could already tell what his answer was.
"I want to learn how to fight, but i want to learn how to fight and defend myself on my own!" He stood up confidently and looked me in the eyes that was brimming with just how naive he was. I responded by slapping him in the face.
"Sorry about that Jaune, but I'm a relatively patient person, but there is one thing i won't deal with, fucking people who wants to remain idiots." He reached towards where i slapped him and looked at me confused.
"W-what do you mean?" I just sigh because i was already getting tired from dealing with Jaune's antics at this point.
"Jaune, if you are not willing to learn from me or your friends then you will not learn to survive here. Do you remember what my motto to fighting is?" He looked at me confused, and he seemed like he really was trying to remember. But this was just too sad to me.
"Jaune, i try to emphasize this EVERY class, but my motto is that those who adapt the quickest survives the longest. And if your not even open to learn from your own teacher or your fellow students then your just an idiot and you deserve to pack your bags and go home. I don't need people dragging the squad down." I wanted to shut my mouth up immediately because i said 'squad' when this was a class.
"Squad?" fuuuuuuck, i internally slap myself, and i just give Jaune the quick answer that should satisfy his need for why i said that.
"Sorry, i used to serve the military in the past, and my last squad there was someone just like you, trying to drag everyone else down to their level. Putting everyone's lives in danger for their own selfish desires." He seemed like he took that personally and he actually started to look sincere after this.
"Sorry i didn't mean to bring anything like that up, and i don't want to be a burden for anyone, or hurt anyone, i just want to be a great warrior." I raise my eyebrow a bit, it actually seemed like we are starting to get somewhere now.
"Jaune, every great warrior always start from square 1, and they work their way up till they are great warriors. You are far from being great, but this school provides you the tools to actually live up to that title, but only if you want it more then everyone else around you." He looked up to me confidently and he raised his arm to his heart.

"I'm determined, i want this more then anything." I give him a small smile, and i start to turn away from him.
"If you are so determined, show me your motivation." I pull out my ice pick and i lunge towards Jaune, i didn't actually try to hit him, but graze him enough to give him the illusion that i was trying to hurt him. Thankfully he dodged the first hit well enough, and i continued to push onto him, and he tried his best to keep up with my constant assault.
After awhile though, Jaune lost his patience and tried to do a heavy over head swing and i took the chance to move my ice pick right in front of his throat.
"Jaune you have a lot to learn, you have a shield but yet your defenseless, you rely too much on brute strength, and you have little to no technique. Your absolutely horrible in combat." He lowered his blade dejectedly, and looked like i just ripped his world away from him.
"But, your not entirely hopeless," he looked back up slightly and i put my hand on his shoulder, "Jaune, everyone has the potential to rise to the top, only if they are willing to actually put in the effort. So i'm not going to remind you after this, but you got your teammates and i'm always open to teach you more in depth. Now get out of here, i have things i need to do." He started to scramble around to put away his weapon and he just gave me an slight nod as he rushed through the door.
"Mr. Arc!" His head came back through the door looking at me confused.
"Your bag? I believe you still have to turn in the assignment i gave you yesterday, remember it's due next week, it would help you if you actually took your bag with you." He gave an awkward laugh as he grabbed his bag and shamefully walked out of the door.
"Let's hope that he actually listens to me, i don't need more idiots in my life." I picked up the rest of my stuff and i walked out of classroom, locking up the classroom for the weekend and i headed towards the hanger where i spend a large majority of my free time.
This time though, it felt like something was wrong as i walked to it's entrance, i look behind me to see if anybody was there but there was only a cold breeze passing by. So i just ignore it and i go in and lock the door behind me just in case.
I walk up to Lilith and i take the covering off of her, and i got to work to starting my 19th attempt on restarting her again. I got close last time so i'm looking forward to my next attempt. I continue to work on Lilith for about an hour before i heard a banging on the door in the back door.
I turn off the plasma welder i was using and i head over towards the door, "who's there?" I ask the door, i waited for a response, and after awhile i heard nothing and i was about to leave but then i heard a soft voice.
"It's me, Velvet." I open the door and i see that Velvet was there, and i couldn't help but feel my heart sink for a second because she had a black eye.
"Velvet are you okay? What happened to you?" I quickly grab onto her and i look at her, she seemed like she got into a fight, and i saw that she was uncomfortable so i quickly let go of her and i lead her back inside as i simply close the door.
I get her a chair and i pull out the first aid kit in Lilith compartments and i go up to her, I then got to work to help her. She didn't say anything for awhile so i didn't push her for anything as i helped her. She didn't have any real damage, just some simple cuts and bruises but i was already curious as to who could of caused this to her.
"Okay Velvet, now hold this pack up to your eye, this should help the healing process and you should be fine in a little bit" She just gives me a simple nod, and just looked at the floor. I wanted to do more for the bunny girl, but i just decide to leave her alone for now. I got back up to Lilith and started work on her, but i did stopped to look back at Velvet.
"Oh if you need anything else Velvet, don't look towards me, I'm using a plasma welder and this will hurt your eyes if you look at it with out protection." She gives me a simple nod and i put my helmet on so i don't melt my own eyes off.
This goes on for awhile and it was quite peaceful, with nothing but the sound of the plasma welder going off, and i was alright with what was going on. And i was almost done with Lilith before the next time i make another reattempt to power her on.
But while i was working on Lilith, i was curious as to hurt Velvet, and my thoughts were cut short as the back door that i forgot to lock was smashed open.
"WHERE IS THAT BITCH AT!"

The Deathseeker [Under Revision]
NOTE: This story has dark elements, but it's neither grimdark nor particularly edgy. It's also currently being revised. Satan's Axe...Lord of High Honor...The Immortal Giant...The Black Maelstrom...Son of Thunderfield...The Gods' Retribution. Dalric had many names. None were as fitting as his last, Dalric the Deathseeker. Born from an unwanted mating between the greatest warriors of the time, death was his only true kin. It birthed him, molded him, and now standing in the middle of a lifeless battlefield, it drenched him. The blood of thousands of soldiers soaked his skin. Two hundred thousand men approached him that day. All of them sought his life, none of them left with theirs. But they would not die in vain, they had accomplished their mission. Hidden beneath a thousand layers of their blood, was Dalric's very own. Feeling his life fade, he gazed weakly at his work. A seemingly endless array of corpses laid battered and disfigured before him. Some bore faces of horror, most had no face at all. His most trusted companion floated in front of him, blocking the view. Waves of sorrow flowed between them. “My time has finally come. I’ve begged for death and it’s finally arrived. My work is done...and so is yours. You’re free to be who you were meant to.” With his contract with the gods fulfilled, they were truly free. The centuries of torment would end. No longer would they have to walk the path of a monster. Little did Dalric know, the devil was in the details. What To Expect: A good time. In a few more words than that, a cast of believable characters in a unique world dealing with conflicts and problems a little bit more complex than punching the big evil guy in the face. Just a little though. Minimum Word Count a Week: 5000 Release Time(s): Between Friday 12pm EST and Monday 6am EST I also write A King in the Clouds
