《RE: VILLAGE》Ch 12

Baelfire splashed some water onto his face early in the morning. He leaned on the sink and looked down, long black hair covering his face. He then looked up at the mirror and stared at his reflection.

It's been Six years since that day. Six long agonizing years since he volunteered to serve House Dimitrescu, to spare a child from being chosen to do so. Baelfire picked up a hair cone and began to work on his long hair.

He's been having nightmares. A lot of nightmares. Baelfire stopped combing his hair and picked up a syringe on the Sink. Without hesitation, he stuck the needle into his arm and withdrew blood. When the syringe was full he set it back down and began getting dressed for today.

Baelfire walked out of the restroom, dressed in a tailored three-piece dark suit. His face showed no emotion as he walked down the halls, tracing his finger on every statue along the way to the kitchen. He walked down a spiral of stairs and walked by the fire place, stopping to toss a piece of wood into the fire before proceeding to the kitchen.

"Well, if it isn't are favorite mutt!" A voice all to familiar to Baelfire said as laughter followed. Baelfire was then surround by a horde of insects buzzing around till they disappeared, leaving the three daughter Dimitrescu's looking at him with insane grins. Except for one, who gave him the 'dreamy' eyes.

Unlike Baelfire, who wasn't immune to the power of time, the three Ladies have remained the same when he first met them. The one giving him the eyes stepped forward.

"Oh Baelfire~" Cassandra said in a dreamy voice as she wrapped her arms around his neck. Baelfire remained emotionless as he looked her in the eyes. It was obvious that the youngest sister had deemed Baelfire wanting. "Where have you been my little mutt?"

"Your mutt? Oh you are wrong dear sister." Bela the middle child, chimed in. She shoved Cassandra out of the way and proceeded to press her body against him. "Baelfire obviously adores me. Don't you see how well he obeys me amongst us three?" She said, grinding against his waist.

"I think you both lost your minds." Daniela the oldest, spoke up. She walked up and pushed Bela to Cassandra. She the grabbed his chin and proceeded to examine him like a doll. "I made him this way you see. I broke him down and made him an obedient slave. My slave."

"You forget dear sister, he's mothers-"

"Not mother's, dear sister." Daniela interrupted, snapping her gaze to her sisters in anger. "Mother didn't take the time to break him in. No she gave him special treatment, not letting us take blood when we wanted. I did! He's mine. In fact, I'm starving!" She exclaimed, grabbing Baelfire's head and exposed his neck. She opened her mouth, her sharp canines growing longer and she went in for the feast.

Baelfire covered her mouth with his hand and pushed her away. Daniela and her sisters looked at him with wide eyes. Baelfire showed no emotion as he stared back at Daniela, who gritted her teeth and stepped towards him. She then smacked him across the face, making him turn his head a little.

"Who do you think you are!" She growled. "I should have you-!"

"Forgive me mistress." He said calmly. "But this suit is a gift from Lady Beneviento. Lady Angie would be very displeased if it was stained, she worked so hard on it with her tiny hands."

Daniela clinched her fists together as she looked him in the eyes. Her 'Aunt' would be very, very displeased. With a huff, she turned around and turned into a swarm of insects and flew away. The other sisters followed. Cassandra gave him a seductive wink before she followed her sisters.

Baelfire slowly lifted his hand to eye level. Between his pointer finger and thumb was a brown fly with blood red eyes that struggled to break free from his fingers, snapping it's sharp razor-like teeth. It was similar to that of the swarm the sisters could turn into.

Baelfire squished the fly, popping it like a grape before tossing it to the side.

"Come in." Baelfire opened the door, carrying a tray of food and a bottle of wine. Lady Dimitrescu sat by her dresser, looking at her reflection in the mirror as she searched for any wrinkles, although she hasn't changed at all. "Ah Baelfire, good morning young man."

"Good morning to you as well mistress." He said as he set the tray down infront of her. Unlike the sisters, Lady Dimitrescu had treated him with fairness, keeping him well fed in return for full obedience. Baelfire lifted the lid to the bowl infront of her, releasing hot steam. She leaned forward and took a deep breath, the steam traveling into her nose as well.

"Virgin soup." She moaned as she picked up the spoon. "My, you know me so well Baelfire." She said as she took another spoonful. "If I knew having a Man-thing as a servant I would have requested for them decades ago."

"You are too kind my lady." He said, standing still with his arms behind his back. He watched as she ate the soup, making sure no drop was left in the bowl. She then set the spoon down and took a napkin and whipped her mouth.

"Oh. I almost forgot." His mistress said, turning around to him. Even sitting down she was taller than him.

"Donna has been calling a lot lately and has requested to visit you today." She said with a small smirk. She was truly a kind mistress.

"Lady Beneviento has?" He asked, trying not to smile or blush from the way she looked at him. Alcina fully smiled as she stood up and looked down at the now smaller man.

"Indeed she has." She said as she walked out the room, beckoning him to follow. "She has requested your presence a lot recently. It almost makes me wonder if she made you her concubine."

Baelfire nearly tripped over his own feet from the word. "Eh, no mistress. I'm not her concubine. We're just.... Lady Angie likes to have me as her playmate."

"Don't tell me the doll made you her concubine."

"NO!" Baelfire shouted. Alcina gave a chuckle as her Man-Thing blushed a blood red. If she didn't like him, she would have drained the blood out of him right then and there for the sudden outburst. He was lucky she found him amusing.

"There is no shame in admitting it Baelfire." She said as they walked down the stairs together. "The only company you have are me, my daughters, Mother Miranda, and that fool Heisenberg." She scoffed mentioning her 'sister's' name. "I'm sure Donna is a saving grace from all of this."

Alcina was no fool. She knew how bad her daughters treated him. She even knew about how he was raped by Daniela years ago.

"Well, she's waiting out there for you." Alcina said pointing to the garden doors.

"She's already here?" He asked, getting a nod as an answer. "Are you sure mistress? I have not completed all my duties today."

"Worry not. You may rest for today." She said. Baelfire grew a small smile and started walking to the doors before stopping. "What is it Man-Thing?"

"Earlier this week, I thought I saw a..." Baelfire turned towards her. ".....A baby."

"It would be best you forget what you saw." Her voice shifted to a cold, harsh tone. She turned around and started to walk away. Leaving a confused Baelfire.

"Think fast!" Baelfire caught a knife that was aimed for his face just as he closed the doors. The tip was inches from his eye. He lowered the knife and saw Donna, wearing her signature black gown and veil, hands up in worry. And Angie, standing on the stone water fountain hunched over.

"I'm sorry Baelfire!" Donna said quietly as Baelfire walked up to her. "I tried to stop her! I-I really did!" Baelfire grabbed her wrist and pulled her into a hug. She gave a yelp from the sudden hug, but hugged him in return.

"It's good to see you again Donna." He said as he held her tight. Donna was probably the only friend he had. Alcina was right when she said Donna was his saving grace.

"WHAT ABOUT ME?!" Angie shouted at the man. "WITHOUT MY HELP DONNA WOULD BE STUCK IN THE HOUSE, TO SHY TO EVEN PICK UP THE PHONE!"

"Yes, yes." Baelfire let go of Donna and walked towards Angie. The pouting doll was then picked up by the man and was pull into a tight hug against his broad chest. Angie closed her eyes and giggled as she hugged him back, unable to fully wrap her arms around him.

"It's nice to see you too Lady Angie. But if I may ask, what are you doing here so early?"

"We have a meeting with the other lords later today." Donna spoke.

"Don't worry about! Let's play!" Angie shouted as she pulled herself onto Baelfire's shoulders. Baelfire just smiled.
