《Crossroads (Lesbian Stories)(gxg)》Chapter 18: Kayla's Girl

Christy's POV
As I walked into my school I was pretty grumpy. I woke up late and I had to leave the house with no breakfast and I was starving. There was only 5 minutes before the bell rings so I had no time to run to the coffee shop near school either. I mentally groaned and walked toward my locker. Then I saw Kayla standing there holding a bagel and a cup of coffee I presume. She saw me and her face lit up into a huge smile.
"Good morning baby." She leaned in and gave me a kiss. "I brought you hot chocolate and a bagel."
"You're a lifesaver babe. I woke up late today and I didn't have anything to eat and I feel half dead. My wonderful girlfriend to save the day huh?" I said as I kissed her on the cheek.
Kayla smiled and started walking me toward my class. "Well I didn't plan on you being late but it was just a girlfriend sense I guess."
"Well you're a great girlfriend and your girlfriend senses are amazing." I said as I took a bite of the warm bagel.
"I gotta keep my girl happy. Lunch later?" She asked while stopping in front of my classroom.
"Yes of course. See you in chemistry?"
"Yep. See you then babe." She leaned in and gave me a kiss before heading off to her class.
"So you and Kayla are finally together?" My friend Natalie asked as I sat in my seat.
"What do you mean 'finally'?"
"I seen the way Kayla looks at you and the way you look at her. There's no way there's nothing going on between you guys. Now tell me are you guys together?"
"Yes we are." I said proudly.
Natalie smiled, "Bout time. So tell me, who wears the pants in the relationship? You and Kayla seem like two very dominant people."
"Me of course. Duh."
"Okay and if I ask Kayla she'll probably say the same thing, am I right."
I laughed because that was probably true. Kayla and I were pretty dominant people but we'll see who's most whipped so they'll be the bottom. The bell rang and we began the lesson. I wasn't really paying attention because I couldn't wait for chemistry so I could see my baby. After chemistry, we would be having lunch together which was perfect. I never thought I'll be excited for chemistry since I hated it but I was.
When it was time for 4th period, I walked happily to class and saw Kayla already sitting in her seat. She had a cute little bun and she was on her phone. I put my stuff down and walked over to her desk.
"Hello my lady." I said as I hopped on her desk and sat on it.
She put her phone down and smiled at me. "Why hello there my queen." She looked up at me and I pressed my lips against hers. The kiss was different for once cause she was looking up instead of down and vice versa.

"So where to for lunch?"
"There's this diner place about 10 minutes away. I'll drive us and we should be able to make it back in time"
"Sounds good."
Kayla's POV
I just parked the car into the restaurant's parking lot and we headed toward the entrance. The place was pretty packed so we got a number and waited for it to be called. I reached for my phone to check what time it was when I realize I didn't have it with me.
"Hey I think I left my phone in the car. If they call the number just head to the table and I'll meet up with you."
Christy nodded as I headed out of the restaurant toward the car. I unlocked the car and found it in the cup holder. I closed the door and walked back into the restaurant. When I got inside the waiting area, I saw a girl who looked our age flirting with Christy. The way her body was positioned and how she was touching her arm set a flare of jealousy through me.
I took a deep breath and walked toward them.
"Hey baby." I said as I grabbed her hand and kissed her in front of the girl. I pulled away and saw the girl looking uncomfortable. She then said an awkward goodbye to Christy and left. I smiled to myself as I wrapped my arm around Christy's waist.
"Someone's jealous." She teased.
"Hell yeah I am. I'm not gonna let someone else flirt with my girl when I'm right in front of them." I said in a slightly possessive tone.
"Don't worry baby, I'm all yours." She tip toed and gave me a kiss. I loved it when she did that. I loved our height difference because it wasn't too big but big enough for her to have to tiptoe to kiss me.
Our number got called and we walked over to the table. Kayla ordered a chicken sandwich and I ordered a patty melt with fries.
"So championships are this week. Are you nervous?" Kayla asked me while taking a drink of water.
"Not really. I think we're really prepared for what's going to come at us. You're going to be there right?"
"Of course I am! What kind of person would I be if I didn't go to my own girlfriend's championship game?!" I loved calling her my girlfriend. Christy was my girlfriend. Christy Owens was my girlfriend.
"You're a great girlfriend."
The food came and the waiter set the plates in front of us.
"Well if I'm that great could you give me some of your fries?" I asked with with a smile.
"Okay well maybe not THAT great." Christy said as she picked up a fry and ate it.
"Hey! I am totally great."
"I know you are." She pushed her plate toward me and I grabbed some fries and put it on my plate.

We sat in a comfortable silence as we ate. That often happened, we both appreciated food too much to be talking while we ate.
When the bill came, we both reached for it at the same time.
"Babe." We said at the same time.
Christy pulled the bill toward her, "I got this Kayla let me do it."
I pulled the bill back toward me, "No I offered to go out for lunch so let me pay."
"Kayla."
"Christy."
We stared at each other for a bit with our hands on top of the bill, refusing to let go.
"Okay, how about we pay for our own meal." I mumbled in defeat.
Christy smiled and suddenly, I no longer felt a sense of defeat. I was happy that Christy was happy. God damn I'm becoming whipped for this girl.
We paid our bill and left the restaurant and headed to my car. When we got in, I didn't start the car just yet.
"Christy?
"Yeah?" She looked up at me.
"I think you're the best thing that has ever happened to me."
Christy blushed and looked away. "Stop it Kayla."
"No I'm serious. You make me a better person and you make me so unbelievably happy. I'm so proud that I can say 'I'm Christy's girl'."
Christy smiled and leaned in a kissed me. "I wouldn't mind being called 'Kayla's girl' either."
"You wouldn't?" I asked with a smile as I started the car.
"Nope. I'm the girlfriend of the school's star soccer player."
"Well I'm the girlfriend of the school's star basketball player who led her team to an undefeated season and championships so I'm pretty sure that's more impressive."
Christy rolled her eyes at me. I grabbed her hand so that I was holding her hand while I was driving.
"I can't wait to come to your game and watch you play. It's going to be an amazing game." I squeezed her hand and she squeezed back.
"It's like you're more excited than I am." Christy said while turning on the radio.
"I probably am. I'm going t make you a poster and paint my face and-"
"Kayla you're more embarrassing than Steph and Maddie at my games."
"Oh great! I could sit with them and we could be Christy's fan club!"
"ENOUGH." She cried out. She was turning red but who cares. I'm gonna be sitting as close I can to the court and in the middle so she could see me cheering for her.
I was so proud to have Christy as an girlfriend. She had such a hard work and dedication she puts into basketball. Her worth ethic and passion for basketball is so admirable. The amount of athletic wear she owns is quite impressive too. Once I started dating her, Christy talked about how her athletic wear closet doubled. As in my clothes were hers and some of hers was mine now. Seriously though, Christy had some big feet for someone who was so small. She was size 7.5 and her basketball shoes were an 8 which meant we could share shoes too. There were some things I couldn't wear like her sweats but she could wear mine, they would just be a little baggy. I could wear her hoodies and basketball shorts though.
"Wait what the hell is that my shirt?" I asked her. I didn't even notice it but now I saw it looked like one of my club soccer shirts. It looked like my former team Santa Rosa United and I'm pretty sure Christy didn't play soccer.
Christy looked down and smiled. "Yeah well it was after the date and I didn't have any clothes to wear when we went back to Steph's house so I took some of your clothes remember?"
"Oh yeah I remember."
"It's mine now though." Christy flashed a smile at me.
"Okay fine then I'll just take one of your basketball shirts."
"It's okay I have one of your soccer hoodies too."
"We've been dating for like two days and you already raided my closet?" I groaned.
"Yep." She gave me a cheeky smile and then cautiously gave me a kiss on the cheek to not disturb my driving.
"Wait but I want a kiss." I said while keeping my eyes on the road.
"When we're at school you can, but for now keep your eyes on the road."
I pouted my lips slightly. "Please baby?" We were at a red light so there was no reason for her to say no.
She leaned over and pressed her lips against mine. I guess the light turned green while we were kissing because we both jumped when we heard the car behind us honk at us.
We drove back to school laughing about the incident at the light. It was pretty funny to me.
When we got back to school, we had a few minutes before the bell rang and I walked Kayla to her locker.
"I'll see you after practice?" I asked as I took books out of my locker.
"Of course."
Christy walked me to my next class and gave me a kiss before saying bye and walking off to her own class.
After she pulled away, I saw Jesse staring at me. He walked up to me and I braced myself.
"So you're dating Christy now huh?" He asked with a monotone in his voice.
"Yeah I am. Sorry Jesse I just don't feel the same way about you anymore."
Jesse nodded. "Yeah well I was pretty stupid to let you go. I hope she makes you happy Kayla. If you ever need me just give me a call."
"Thanks Jesse."
