《Crossroads (Lesbian Stories)(gxg)》Chapter 8: Two Athletes

Mondays are never fun, especially when you had such a great weekend and your English teacher is too fed up talking about herself rather than our lesson despite me being in an advanced class. Okay okay I know I skipped the part where Kayla and I went to her house and watched Netflix. It wasn't like the "Netflix and chill" thing where we would watch Netflix and then end up screwing each other. We were watching Bob's Burgers when we both fell asleep. We woke up a few hours later and Kayla drove me home. Our "goodbye kiss" ended up being a slight make out session in her car when Maddie coincidentally was on her way home also and knocked on the window telling us to stop making a porno in a public place. So overall, the Saturday I spent with Kayla was good.
The bell rung and I rushed out of the classroom. Thank god since my teacher would NOT stop talking about how hot Brad Pitt was. Like seriously, I'm too gay for that. On my way to psychology I was pulled into a room. Great I was being kidnapped and now I'm going to be late for class.
To my surprise, it was Kayla. She pulled me in for a deep kiss.
"What class do you have next?" She said while pulling away.
"AP Psych." I said while dragging her outside the bathroom. No way was I going to be late.
"Hm pretty and smart? I scored big on you huh?" She said while giving me a nudge.
I rolled my eyes at her. "I have 20 minutes before practice today. Wanna do something?"
"I wish I could but I can't. I have practice."
"Oh yeah how could I forget you're the school's star soccer player who never misses a single practice." I teased
"Oh please like you would skip a practice either."
"Touche Owens."
"I'll see you in chemistry Johnson." She said while giving me a kiss on the cheek.
My friend Lindsey was in this class. She walked up to me to say hello.
"So you're with Kayla?" She asked out of the blue.

The bell rung and all the students got to their seats but the teacher wasn't here yet.
"What?" I asked, not sure if I heard correctly.
"You're with Kayla now? Or have a thing going on since I saw how you were pulled into the bathroom and walked out with her."
"Ummm are you stalking me?"
"No but considering how my locker was in front of the girls' bathroom and how you're gay and Kayla is supposedly bisexual, I put 2 and 2 together. Don't worry I won't tell anyone."
"Okay thanks but what do you mean by supposedly?" I asked curiously, not knowing what she meant.
"Isn't she like fuck buddies with Jesse? Apparently people seen them together a lot and the two soccer captains together doesn't that sound cute? And someone told me Kayla was "those bisexuals" who are just bi for the attention of a guy. That guy being Jesse. Have you seen Faking It? Guys fall for that shit all the time, think it's hot or some shit like that."
"You're making too much generalizations Lindsey. You don't even know her." I stated, I was getting angry.
"Don't say I didn't warn you."
Psych dragged on what Lindsey said to me left a bitter taste in my mouth. Kayla wouldn't go for me if she still liked Jesse right? Then math was even worse. I might be smart and even with me taking AP Psych, APUSH, and American Lit Honors, I still couldn't figure out how to do math, I naturally sucked at math. I'm in algebra 2 now as a junior, how embarrassing but whatever since most of my friends are in that class.
Even though I completely sucked at chemistry, I was excited to see Kayla.
I got there before Kayla so I sat on my seat waiting for her.
She walked in and walked straight to my desk.
"Lunch later?"
"Let's" I said while nodding.
"I was thinking salad?"
"Let's not."
The bell rung and the teacher stood up.
"Oh come on the place I wanna take you sells sandwiches too. Plus they have bomb smoothies."
"Smoothies you say? Okay let's go"

"Ms. Owens please go to your seat so we can start the lesson."
He lectured about chemical reactions until some kid brought up Breaking Bad which sparked into a whole conversation about the perfect drugs being made only if the cook really knew his chemistry. This only made me think our chemistry teacher made meth after school and was convincing us to study chemistry so we can make big bucks making drugs. No thanks.
Finally lunch came around and I couldn't wait to eat and try those smoothies Kayla was talking about.
"Come on let's go!" I told Kayla while dragging her to her car.
"Jeez you must be really hungry or something."
"You said they have good smoothies so let's go!"
Kayla started the car and started driving out of the student parking lot. "So you're a smoothie fanatic."
"Drive."
When we got there, the place seemed really weird. And I mean weird weird. Honey and cheese sandwiches, peanut butter, bacon, and pickles (I hate pickles by the way),Goat cheese on dried ham with fig marmalade, cream cheese with olives on pumpernickel, dear god where did Kayla bring me. Don't even get me started on the smoothies. There was a banana, avocado, broccoli, cucumber, and orange juice smoothie. WHO PUTS BROCCOLI IN A SMOOTHIE.
"Um Kayla where the hell did you bring me." I said under my breath.
"Oh come on Christy just give it a shot. I promise if you don't like it I'll owe you one."
"Okay fine." I mumbled.
I settled on a turkey sandwich with cranberry sauce, avocado, goat cheese, dipped in gravy and an orange juice mixed with vanilla ice cream "smoothie" which wasn't really a smoothie since it had ice cream in it.
"Kayla this is crazy I just spent $12 on a sandwich and smoothie it better be bomb like you said."
"Oh don't worry you'll be thanking me for this place later. And next time you can pick where we go for lunch."
"Deal." I took a bite into my weird brick of a sandwich and surprisingly it was good. Like really good.
"So is it good?"
I nodded my head as I took another bite. "This is amazing. It seems nasty but it is one of the best things I tasted due to the flavors exploding in my mouth. I took a drink from my smoothie. The richness of the ice cream that was made in the store and the freshly squeezed orange juice surprisingly went together well.
I looked over at Kayla's plate. It looked nothing like a salad.
"That's a salad?"
"It's a heirloom tomato panzanella."
"A what?!"
"It has cucumbers, bell peppers, some red onions, white beans, basil, and cherry tomatoes. Delicious!"
"More like you have a garden in your bowl." I said while taking another bite of my sandwich.
We finished our food and drove back to school.
"That meal was good, thanks for bringing me. Next lunch I'll show you some of my spots."
"It's a deal."
After lunch class conditioned as usual and my pile of homework grows and my stress levels do.
After school I walked as slowly as I could to put my books away since I wanted to kill time before practice. I decided to visit the football field since that's where soccer practice was held.
I saw Kayla running up and down the field and even if she was sweating like crazy and what looks to be out of breath, she still looked pretty stunning.
We made eye contact and she she smiled. She ran over to her coach and whispered something and ran toward me. She motioned me to go behind the bleachers.
"Leaving practice to see me? I should snitch on you." I teased.
"Oh shut up." She said while pulling me into a kiss.
"Ew you're all sweaty," I teased while pushing her away playfully.
"Oh please you probably think I'm smoking hot right now."
"You wish." I said while giving her a light peck on the lips.
"Well just wait until I'm in my uniform, your knees will be weak then."
I blushed and she pulled me in for another kiss.
"I have to go but come see me after practice in the locker room? Your practice ends at 5:30 right?"
"Yeah."
"Mine too I'll see you then."

I Want You to Remember Me
A simple romantic tale of a... girl meeting a... boy. Trust and love both take time to grow, but growing together is also a lot of fun. A handful of disclaimers and claims: First, this is fan fiction, set in the “Amaranthine Saga” universe written by Forthright. The story and characters, on the other hand, are wholly my own (fault). I highly encourage you to read the stories from the “Amaranthine Saga” before reading this; the latter half of this story will make a whole lot more sense if you do. Second, this is a relatively short and stand-alone story. The completed story should clock in around 10,000 words, so please do not expect a novel, let alone a series. Third, while this is a romantic story, I’ve never been a fan of the usual romance “misunderstanding” tropes. Think of this as more of a romantic slice-of-life story than an action or traditional romance story. Finally, thank you for reading. :)
