back there" Hermione said matter of factly.
"Ever" cut in Sirius with a worried tone.
"You are always welcome with us" Ron nodded.
Octavia nodded, thankful for their understanding.
"Why did he do this?" Remus asked.
"I was learning 7th year spells"
"But you're a fifth year" Harry looked confused.
"I know, Uncle would try to teach me advanced magic." She hesitated, "When I didn't get them right he would..."
"We understand" Hermione put her hand on Octavia's shoulder,"No need to go further."
Octavia smiled sadly, "Thank you"
She walked back up to her room. But she heard foot steps following her. Once she reached her room Octavia turned around and was inches from Harry's face.
"Sorry" He looked down, "I just wanted to check on you"
"You can come in" Octavia motioned as she sat on her bed.
He came over and sat beside her.
"If you don't mind me asking, what were you learning when he..."
"I was conjuring my patronus, I had done it before but the memory... it's faded now"
He looked at her with curious eyes.
"My parents" Octavia answered.
He nodded in understanding.
She got up and walked over to her dresser and grabbed the photo.
"I think they knew each other" She said handing him the photograph.
Harry inspected the photo, a smile spreading across his lips as he spotted his parents.
"You look like them" He glanced up at her and down at the photo.
Octavia smiled, "You have your mothers eyes"
"So I've been told" He laughed.
Octavia laughed too, as he continued to inspect the photo in his hands.
"Thanks for showing me this" He handed the photo back, smiling.
"Of course"
"Well, goodnight" Harry stood up.
"Night" She went to bring her photo back.

He started out the door and then turned around and paused.
"Octavia?"
"Yes?" Octavia turned around and looked at him.
"You are stronger than I will ever be"
"Don't sell yourself short Harry, I'm no chosen one."

It was just Sirius and Octavia this morning. All the others went to Diagon Alley for school. She decided to stay behind. Octavia was making her daily cup of coffee and Sirius was at the table reading the prophet.
"So I saw Harry follow you upstairs last night" He smirked.
Octavia rolled her eyes, "Your point?"
"You two have a thing" He wiggled his eyebrows.
"We so do not have a thing"
"Yeah right" He scoffed, "I may not be married but I know love and you two have it"
"I don't have a thing for Harry"
"Lies"
"Oi, are we talking about how Octavia and Harry have a thing?!" Remus came walking in with a chuckle.
"When did you get here?" She sighed putting her hand on her forehead.
"Just now, but please continue I want to hear about your thing"
"I don't have a thing!" Octavia protested.
Sirius and Remus looked at each other.
"They have a thing" Both men said in unison.
"You are grown men! We don't have a thing" Octavia insisted.
"Whatever you say Octavia"
Octavia shot them a glare while they laughed, taking a sip of her coffee.

Law of Shadows
Mercs are causing trouble in my city. They are hunting someone, whatever the cost. It’s not like I care that some lowly humans died, but if I don’t act now it would set a bad example. So what would the hero do? Probably he would save the victims and protect them while the enemies keep coming…Yeah, as if I would ever do something so troublesome! They aren’t calling me the demon lord for no reason. I suppose I’ll just shoot the victim and be done with it.

Triquetra: A Multi-Class Isekai or How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Accept the End of the Multiverse
Triquetra: An Multi-Class Isekei Adventure I know, I know, you have heard it all before. Yes I was hit by a truck. Yes I ended up in a Fantastical World suspiciously similar to one of my favorite RPG’s. Yes I had access to cheats no one else possessed. Yes it was a world of classes and levels and magic powers. Finally, yes I was an overweight middle-aged loser failing to live up to my potential. Given my eclectic reading habits I should have been better prepared. Unfortunately I was not. Sure I could multi-class with reduced penalties, but my starting class was Scholar! No combat abilities and very limited spellcasting. My HUD interface costs mana to use, and my universal translation seemed to be outsourced to Giggle Translate. I’m supposed to be an OP MC! Not a slice-o- life struggling to survive in the wilderness. Not to mention the Arch-Magus who summoned me, mistimed everything, I arrived 300 years too late, after the fall of the Empire I was supposed to save. The surviving remnants have devolved into Murder Hobos. What’s worse is that the Great Devourer, Ancient Calamity, and Spawn from the Void Beyond Time, Space, and Sanity is now aware of a new world to plunder, a world called Dirt! (Told you this translator sucks) Warning Extra Crunchy Authorial Vebosity! Lots of infodump in the early chapters, but I learn my lesson and it does get better, eventually. I do not own the Cover image, found it on a free image site.

Hinterland
Simon sincerely believed he was saving Morgan's life when he pushed her off the second-story roof of her family farmhouse. To be fair, his mother was burning it to the ground at the time. But Morgan Mumford, a lonely outcast with a chip on her shoulder and a full skeleton of remarkably unbroken bones, is not particularly convinced of his good intentions. Because the instant he pushed her over Simon also whisked Morgan into the realm of Hinterland: a shadowy world that is a perfect replica of their home town of Coching. But Hinterland is a hungry and dangerous place, where ordinary objects have taken on a life of their own. In Hinterland you might be ambushed by a gang of motorcycles or eaten alive by a duplex. And by god, you run from scissors. Morgan is now trapped in this hostile realm, unable to find a way home. Hunted relentlessly by Aqualung, an evil-minded Buick Skylark with a love for Jethro Tull and hatred for all things on two legs, she is forced to join a ragtag band of fellow castaways to ensure her survival. But the embittered leader of these children has plans of his own, and before long Morgan finds herself swept into his vendetta against Hinterland's imperious ruler: Simon's mother, who commands the living, breathing town to do her bidding and schemes to transform it into something worse than it is now. Something ravenous. It's time for Morgan to decide whether to ditch her new allies and find her own way out of the belly of the beast, or stay and help her fellow outcasts weather the violent feud that brews on the horizon.
