The room was cold. The yellow curtains blew against the white walls and the sound of car doors opening and closing filled the small bedroom.

You laid in bed cradling your growing stomach while reading a movie magazine, waiting for your husband to return with some warm vegetable soup.

The door was thrusted open and in came Danny holding a tray with your soup and silverware on it along with a vase containing a singular baby pink rose. Ever since he learned you were expecting a girl he brought a pink rose for every meal.

Ever since you told him you were expecting he did all he could to help. Even if that meant spilling soup a couple times a week on his way to deliver it to you.

You handed him the magazine and sat up while he quickly adjusted your pillows. He sat beside you and studied your movements. His eyes nearly bugged out of their sockets when he saw you jump suddenly.

"What is it? What's wrong? How can I help?" He asked frantically.

"Nothing, nothing dear. The baby just kicked is all." You looked down and rubbed where she was kicking. Danny wiped his face with his handkerchief before settling in a relaxed position beside you.

You finished your soup and handed Danny your tray to which he put on the floor beside the bed. You laid on your back beside him. One arm instinctively wrapped around your shoulders while the other cradled your belly.

"How much longer do we have to wait?" Danny asked while staring at the ceiling.

"Three more months, sweetheart."

"What do you think she'll be like?" It was your turn to ask.

"I'll be a very lucky man if she's nearly as charming and beautiful as her mother."

"I hope she's as silly as her father. I hope she inherits his good heart." He met your gaze and in that moment things felt to be perfect.

Looking into his blue eyes with both of your hands intertwined on the protruding bump between your bodies. A life the two of you created from love, "she will be perfect."

"That goes without saying," he pressed a tender kiss to your temple.

You held onto his waist while you sunk yourself lower into the bed. He pulled the blanket up to your chin and pressed a loving kiss to your lips.

"Get some sleep sweetheart, I will stay right here."
