"Don, please do me a favor will ya? My sister is coming on the lot for today and I'll be busy directing. Could you keep her company and watch out for her?" Donald's eyes grew wide. Gene was putting a lot of faith into Donald. Up until five minutes ago, he didn't know Gene had a sister.

"Sure thing. You know I'm great with the kids." He held his head up and arms crossed. He was picturing you to be a five year old, little did he know you just turned nineteen.

"I knew I could count on you." Gene smiled and patted his friend on the shoulder.

When you arrived on the lot you were immediately overwhelmed. People were scramming each direction, some wheeling lights and clothing racks. You remembered Gene said to go to stage 10, and after twenty minutes, you found your way.

The soundstage was empty except for a boy who was tap dancing under a magenta colored spotlight. Your heels clicked against the hard floor. The boy looked up at you and rid of his cigarette.

"Hello." You greeted nervously.

"Oh, hello," he said while approaching you. He looked you up and down, earning a blush from you.

"Are you lost? Need any directions?"

"I don't think so. My brother told me to come to stage 10."

"Brother? Don't tell me you're Gene's sister!"

"Yes, I'm afraid that's me," you both chuckled.

"I'm Donald, Donald O'Connor. I'm making a film with your brother now." He held out his hand.

"Yes, I've heard quite a lot about you."

A wave of silence washed over the two of you. Donald kept looking at the ground and you looked at the darkened scenery around you.

"The way Gene spoke about you, I thought you'd be a five year old. He wanted to keep a close eye on you." you rolled your eyes.

"I just turned nineteen a week ago. I would hope that I'm past needing any babysitting."

"I'd say," he winked. He certainly was flirty. You couldn't deny that you felt attracted to him. He had the cutest grin, and the most gorgeous blue eyes.

A shiver rushed up your spine. Donald noticed and instinctively gave you his coat.

"You look cute wearing my coat."

"Thank you."

He leaned in and pressed a tender kiss to your lips. Unsure of your reaction, he pulled away. You couldn't get enough. You pulled him back and wrapped your arms around his neck. Time seemed to stand still.

You heard distant footsteps approach you. Donald pulled away, your favorite colored lipstick stained his lips. He wiped it away with his handkerchief.

"What is this?" It was your brother.

"What does it look like? I'm kissing your adorable kid sister."

"Enough of that. Y/n is too young for boys." Gene tried to get between you.

"Gene I'm nineteen. I'm a big girl now," you looked up into Donald's loving eyes.

"She sure is, and with your permission, I'd like to take her to dinner."

Gene felt defeated. Exchanging looks between you and Donald. His face was blank and his eyes widened. He didn't want to act like this. It was his big-brother instincts. But, he wanted you to be happy.

"Alright. Permission granted." You smiled widely and gave your brother a big hug.

He walked out of the soundstage leaving you and Donald to be happy together.
