The sparkly reflection from the pool projected onto the back of the house. It was a lovely sight on a warm day off. Van was swimming in the pool with some of his buddies while you laid out on a lounge chair with cat eye sunglasses.
The warm California sun beat down on you and it felt wonderful. Nothing could take this feeling away. Your eyes were closed and your hands gently clasped the armrests. The sound of splashing was almost distant. Van chuckled loudly at something one of the guys said before getting out of the pool.
He grabbed his towel and dried his ears and his hair.
"You should join us, the water feels wonderful." he dropped the towel down onto the chair next to you.
"Oh that's okay, you guys enjoy it." He looked over at the group of three guys talking amongst themselves.
"I think I'll sit out for a bit anyhow." he sat down.
You two sat in awkward silence. You grazed your eyes down his body. He had his eyes closed while laying back.
"Maybe I will go ahead and dip my toes in."
You stood up and walked over to the edge of the pool, and carefully leaned one foot in to the water. Then all of a sudden you lost your balance and fell in. You instinctively screamed when Van jumped in after you. You felt his arms grab you and pull you to the surface. You spit water out and opened your eyes to see him looking at you carefully. He cradled you in his arms before pulling away.
"Are you okay?" He asked.
"Just lost my balance there, thank you."
"It's what friends are for." he whispered, before leaning down and kissing your lips sweetly, "But maybe I want to be more than friends."

Hush | on hold
"Your name?"When I stayed silent, he repeated himself. "Your name?""Jeyri." I let out quietly."And last name?""Rae...""Jeyri Rae..." He crouched down next to me and moved the hair from in front of my face, "I dislike when things get difficult, I end up doing things I'd much rather not do. Do you want to know what happened to the last person who made things difficult for me, hmm?" He asked, leaning into me. Is he talking about me calling the cops? He pressed his gun against my head and frowned, "You get it don't you?"I nodded quickly. "Good... And if you tell anyone what you saw today, I'll know." He pressed his finger against my lips and smiled, "So hush."

The Meaning of Life
It all started with that voice. One day, a slightly psychopathic teenager named Krey heard a voice in his dream. A goddess's request, a new world, the legacies of the Divine realms, the never-ending storms in the world of Salratia. With the carefree thought of "I shall live as I please~!", Krey sets out to begin his 'otaku' dream. But it is not smooth sailing. Troublesome divine entities, mortal politics and the relationship with his new companions. How could he, a former assassin and former odd-jobs part-time high school student worker (not to mention an otaku), a perfect example of a loner (though he himself doesn't seem to realize it) be able to handle this problem? "Ei! Whatever, there's still a few more centuries! I'll go travel the world in peace!" [Author here. This is my first time writing a story in RRL. Criticism is very welcome as long as it is educational and has some tips and bits of advice for me. I am still learning]
