《The Players BestFriend》Chapter 31

He's just like Austen. He just used me. I was just someone to last him until he got back together with Loren. I was standing there looking at the scene in front of me. I couldn't speak. My mind couldn't think of anything to say. I thought he was different; I guess I was wrong.

After what felt like hours, I finally found my voice.

"You know, I thought you were different. I thought I could actually fall in love with you. Then, this happens. You are just like him Ezra. I'm done being played and used. Don't ever talk to me again!!!!" I exclaimed, making Ezra and Loren jump.

Both of their eyes were as wide as softballs. They were caught, of course they're gonna be scared and nervous. They should be.

"Kylie, this isn't what it looks like. Let me explain."

"Go for it." I replied, crossing my arms over my chest.

"I was looking for something to eat and then out of no where, Loren fell on top of me. She's drunk so she can't walk right. We're not doing what you think we're doing. You have to believe me."

"Not for a second. I'm done with this. I'm sick and tired of being the one played in all of y'alls stupid childish games." I stated, tearing up at the end. "Just do me a favor and leave me alone."

"Kylie, c'mon!! Please!! I'm completely over Loren. We're just friends. You're my girlfriend. I don't care about anyone else."

"No Ezra!!!! No matter what you say or do, I won't believe you. I've been through this before!! I'm not stupid!! I'm not gonna keep putting myself through this!!" I yelled, letting the tears flow freely.

"Don't cry Kylie. Don't be mad at me. I'm sorry. Please believe me."

"I'm not crying because of you; You're not worth it. I'm crying because my delusion of who you were was shattered by the truth of who you are." I stated, walking out of the kitchen.

I heard footsteps following me. I didn't dare look back. If I looked back, I might let him convince me that he was telling the truth and I can't let myself believe such a terrible lie.

I've gotta get out of this house. I need to get as far away from Ezra as I can.

I searched for Brooklyn in every inch of the crowded house. I finally found her on a couch underneath a guy. They were in a heated make out session.

"Brooklyn!! I need to go home now! Let's go!" I yelled, jerking the stranger off of her.

"Kylie, What's wrong?? What happened?"

"I'll explain later. Let's just go."

"I've gotta go Luke. Just text or call me." Brooklyn told the somewhat familiar stranger I now know as Luke.

Wait.... I knew he looked familiar.

"Okay. I had fun tonight. See you later." He smirked while walking off towards the stairs.

I'll ask her about it later. Right now I'm just focused on getting the he** out of here.

I got a few looks because of my puffy eyes and runny nose. I just rolled my eyes at them and continued walking. When we stepped outside, Brooklyn started bombarding me with questions. I didn't answer her; I couldn't. I just wanted to get out of there as quickly as possible. I need a cup of hot chocolate and my nice warm bed.

"Kylie, you need to answer me. I can't help you unless you open up." She stated with a worried expression.

"Not right now. I just wanna go home."

"Fine. But you have to tell me sooner or later."

"I will." I replied, forcing a smile.

"Promise?"

"Promise."

Satisfied with my answer, she dropped the subject. We finally made it to my truck. Even though my dad said only I can drive, I let Brooklyn take control. I can't drive right now. We would end up in a ditch somewhere.

I felt like I was forgetting something back at Michael's house and then it hit me....... Cody.

"Oh crap!! We're Cody's ride home!!" I yelled.

"We shouldn't have brought him here. He's always in my way." She replied.

"I know that brothers and sisters fight but you have to be nicer to him. He needs friends just like you do. He's been alone most of his high school life. Give him a break." I stated truthfully.

"Whatever. I'll just call him and tell him to catch a ride with someone."

And that's what she did. Apparently, he's drunk. He could hardly talk. Mason offered to take him home. Mason was basically the only sober one there which I am very thankful for. At least I know Cody will get home safe. The minute he walks through his doors though, his mom is going to throw a fit. He will most likely be grounded for the first time of his life.

"We're here." Brooklyn said, parking my truck in the garage.

"Thanks for driving me home. You're a good friend." I smiled.

"I know. Now, being a good friend involves me taking care of you when you need it so, I'm gonna stay the night." She stated.

"I'm sorry, but I wanna be left alone. I need time to think about what happened tonight."

"You need me. I don't know exactly what happened, but I have an idea. Guys are idiots. They screw up every relationship they have. They don't care about anyone else's feelings but their own."

"Brooklyn, please just drop it. I'll explain later. How are you gonna get home?"

"Mason is on his way over here right now. He should be here any minute. I've gotta figure out a way to hide Cody from mom."

"Alright. Well, you can come inside until they get here. It's getting pretty chilly."

"Okay."

We walked inside my cozy house. I made us both a glass of delicious hot chocolate. I put whipped cream on top of mine but Brooklyn hates it. I don't understand why. It's so good.

Not even 5 minutes later, Mason and Cody pulled up into my drive way.

Brooklyn gave me a bone crushing hug and then walked off, leaving me alone with my thoughts.

Tonight was very eventful. Loren and him are perfect together. The minute I found out about her, I should've just called off whatever Ezra and I had. They have history. Ezra and I don't. We were just two teenagers trying to find love and I guess it wasn't with each other.

Sometimes, It's better for a girl to sleep a hundred years and be kissed and awakened by the right prince than to stay awake and be kissed a hundred times by the wrong frog. I just want to hurry up and be kissed by my prince. I thought Ezra might have been him. I don't think I was in love with him yet. It was growing into love, but our relationship had a lot of maturing to do. Now, it'll never get the chance to bloom into something great. I'm done with guys for a while. I need to have time to my self. Guys are just so much trouble. My prince will find me soon, but until then, I'm gonna enjoy life.

There are things you don't want to happen, but have to accept, things you don't want to know, but have to learn and people and circumstances you can't live without, but have to let go.

Ezra played me, used me, and tossed me to the side. He can have Loren. I'm gonna try my best to move on and enjoy life while I can. I have to let the past go and move on to the future.
