《The Players BestFriend》Chapter 4

"Dad, have you seen my toms?"

It's the first day of school and of course, I start it off by loosing my shoes. I dread going to school. It'll be nice seeing all of my old friends, but seeing Austen again will be so dang hard.

"No, I haven't sweetie. Have you checked the garage? You may have dropped them when you were getting your stuff out of the car."

"Oh yeah. Thanks dad."

When I opened the garage door, I was at a loss for words.

"Um... Dad... What's this?" I was in awe, hardly even being able to speak a few simple words.

"It's your new truck. I thought that maybe getting you this would make up for me moving us back to L.A."

My Dad sure is suck up, but a pretty dang good one. This truck is beautiful. I may be a girl, but I love trucks. I've always wanted one.

"Oh my gosh dad! Thank you so much! It doesn't change the fact that you're making me start all over again, but I'm very thankful! Apology accepted!" I exclaimed, jumping into my dads arms.

"Now, rules come with this truck. You have to get a job to pay for gas. I can drive it whenever I please and you cannot and I repeat CANNOT lend it to any of your friends."

I let out an unattractive squeal, unable to contain my excitement. "It's a deal. Wow! This is so freakin' awesome!"

Maybe this won't be so bad. I can't wait to drive this bad boy to school.

'Hey Brooklyn, I'm gonna pick you up from now on. You will never guess what my dad got me! Be ready when I get there!' I sent a quick text to my bestie, knowing she would be happy about me picking her up.

Brooklyn loves trucks just as much as I do. She used to have one, but she started skipping school and partying so her parents took it away. When she never stopped, her parents sold it. If you ask me, I think she deserved it. Brooklyn knew better than to disobey her parents. Her parents are really strict. She knew the consequences but insisted she "live a little".

When I pulled into Brooklyn's drive way, I noticed the door being slightly open. I decided to just go ahead and go in. I was startled by yelling coming from the living room.

"Brooklyn Marie Williams! You will never leave this house again if you keep skipping school! Why can't you be more like your brother!?" Mrs. Williams exclaimed.

She's always favored her son, Cody. He's sixteen, just a year younger then Brooklyn and I. Cody is a straight A student. He's always had a crush on me but I don't see him as anything more than a friend.

"Because I'm not some nerd! I actually have a life!" Brooklyn shouted, throwing her hands in the air.

"I have a life! It may not include skipping school and going to parties every weekend but I have a life!" Cody fired back, his loud voice being a little surprising to me. I've never really heard him yell before.

"Yeah, whatever! Just go so we can get to school!" Brooklyn stated, stomping her way towards me.

"Hey, sorry about that Kylie," She apologized. "As you can see, nothing has changed."

"It's okay. I'm used to it."

While driving to school, we listened to a few of my favorite songs such as "Banga Banga" by Austin Mahone, "Stay" by Florida Georgia line and "Midnight Memories" by One direction; one of my favorite bands.

I cherish music. I don't know what I would do without it.

"Oh, by the way Kylie, I love your truck. I am so jealous!" Brooklyn glared at me, looking around my baby.

I giggled. "Thanks. I figured you would be."

When we arrived at school, my nerves kicked in. I'm finally having to face my fear. Hopefully I don't have any classes with Austen. Knowing him, he will be surrounded by girls. I can't stand girls like that. They seem so desperate. They might as well have "easy" written on their foreheads.

When I stepped out of my truck, everyone stared at me. Everyone knows what happened between Austen and I. Apparently, everyone but me knew Austen never truly loved me.

"It's okay Kylie. Just ignore them." Brooklyn whispered to me. She can always tell when I'm worried.

"Easier said then done."

While trying my best to ignore them, I noticed a certain blonde walking towards us with a posse behind her. I immediately hid behind Cody.

"Hey Kylie, I don't think your little friend there is going to protect you." Britney said with a devilish smirk.

"What do you want Britney?" I rolled my eyes at her, anger dripping from my voice.

"Oh you know what I want. I want you to stay away from Austen. He's mine!" Britney proclaimed.

"You can have him. You know how he likes his toys." I smirked, Brooklyn and Cody laughing at my statement.

"Yeah you would know. I can't believe you actually thought he loved you. How pathetic."

I was about to say something before Cody interrupted me.

"Britney, just leave her alone. Go annoy someone else."

"My pleasure." Britney smirked, flipping her hair over her shoulder and walking off with the bimbo's following her every footstep.

"Thanks Cody."

"No problem. Now lets get to class before we're late."

I'm so glad Cody and Brooklyn were there to help me. I probably would've broken down if they weren't. I knew I was gonna have to face her sooner or later. I just wish it was later.

This is gonna be be one long day.
