《Scentless Curiosity [KristSingto Fanfic]》11: Candlelight Dinner

Kit: I was just looking at the author's note at the start of the story and I went "Right, some people came because BrightWin was tagged!"
Then I thought, "Doesn't this mean I cheated them?" Because BW only appears in the last extra at the very end of the book, what more it's only one chapter. 😂😂😅😅
------
"I choose Krist."
"Huh?! P'Sing made me next head hazer?!"
Which brought him to now, his first day of training. He doesn't understand, he's not scary and looks weak. How is he fit to be the head hazer?
Plus, he was an omega.
"Nong, are you ready for the training? We've got three weeks, if you get it done sooner you can end the training period early."
Krist could only nod, hiding his nervous under his poker face. His usual expression has a small smile but to be a hazer he was sure he had to have a scary face. The first thing he did was to greet the whole year two hazer team. "Sawasdee phi's."
Two weeks later
The senior decided after a week of training that he should keep his normal expression. What was scarier, a person who usually had no expression exploding or someone who was usually warm and approachable erupting like a volcano? So after one week of training without the need of keeping a poker face, Krist found that he indeed had what it took to be a hazer. Even his phi told him that he was already ready, today was his last day but the senior told the group he was not feeling fell so Singto was not attending today.
Back at the dorm...
Singto was lowkey freaking out. Yes, he planned this dinner. Yes, he planned the confession. But what he did not plan was what to eat! He literally can't cook without being scared that the oil splashes at him!

Just when he was going to pull his hair out, a light bulb appeared over his head. He couldn't cook fancy dishes but he at least could cook Mama OK noodles and they don't take long to cook either.
Deciding that he was going to cook instant noodles, he now had to go buy flowers because what was a confession without flowers? The nearest flower shop was around fifteen minutes away and the training was ending in an hour.
He had to hurry.
"Phi, I would like a few of those red chrysanthemums." He actually didn't know what the flowers represent, he only knew that red meant love. Well, usually, and it was the first thing he saw.
"Good choice nong, those are the prettiest this season. That'll be 200 baht."
"Thank you phi."
"Good luck with the event, have a good day!"
Singto only blushed, how did the florist know?
When he got home, he immediately put the flowers into a vase he had shifted onto the table, then set off to cook the noodles.
----
"Phi, I'm home- P'Sing... why are the lights off and why is the light from the kitchen so dim? Do we need to change the bulb?"
"Ah! Kit, don't come over yet. Stay there please!"
He was very confused. Didn't his senior say he was unwell? But he still listened to him and stood rooted at his current spot after putting his shoes away.
Singto came over with a blindfold, tying it around the junior's head before leading him into the kitchen and helping him wash his hands. Hygiene is important after all. Then Krist felt himself sit down onto a chair and heard a bowl thumping against the tabletop.
"P'Sing, you cooked?"
"Okay, all done. You can remove the blindfold now."

When he could finally see, he saw a bowl of nicely decorated instant noodles and as he scanned the table, he saw a few fake candles and a vase full of red flowers.
"Phi... Is this supposed to be a candlelight dinner?"
"Well... To celebrate you completing your training? But I didn't know how to cook other things so I cooked instant noodles."
Krist was amused, very pleased and happy. He was having a candlelight dinner with his crush, of course he would be overjoyed! "It's okay phi, I can see the effort you put into this. Let's dig in?"
He watched as the senior picked up his chopsticks, bowing down his head to try and hide the blush on his cheeks. Unfortunately, his ears betrayed him and Krist knew fully well that the alpha in front of him was a blushing mess right now, it brought him joy that he could have this effect on him.
After the dinner
Singto was nervous, would he get rejected? If he does then does that mean their friendship is broken?
"Phi, you look like you have something to say to me." Krist looked at the man who was subtly fidgeting with encouraging eyes.
"That uh... Kit... W-will you..." And he paused over there so Krist decided to tease him a bit.
"Will I what? If you don't say it I'm going to shower-"
"Will you be my boyfriend!?"
There was silence, a shocked turtle and an anxiously waiting lion.
"Krist?"
"P-phi... say that again?"
"I asked... if you would be my boyfriend." After seeing no response from Krist, he hurriedly added. "It's okay if you don't want-"
"Yes! Yes, I will!"
And so, the two spent the next two hours after Krist showered on the couch basking in each other's' warmth, still not fully comprehending that they were now a couple.

Moonshot
Gregarious businessman Evin Tumble is fascinated by the sudden and inexplicable appearance of a low-orbiting moon. Specifically, he's interested in shooting it down with a giant cannon. The moon is only about eight miles overhead, but it's high enough and quick enough that nobody can reach it by balloon or airship. He hires our protagonists: taciturn Iseult Morrin, cheerful Sean Whelan, and nervous Íde Ceallaigh, to help him with his obsession. As our heroes are dispersed across the continent to perform tasks for Tumble, and the moon-hunt draws closer, they become increasingly suspicious of their benefactor's motives and true nature. Moonshot is a story centred around struggling with confidence, the difficulty of being an immigrant, and the duality of truth, all clad in the trappings of an urban fantasy. It is character-driven, from the heart, and based on tropes and ideas that are missing from a lot of contemporary fantasy (a push beyond the flawless-yet-somehow-still-needs-rescuing-by-an-oafish-man heroine trope, a touch of cosmic magic based on the shared geometries of Celtic and Arab art).
