a hc dump on how state meetings work.

- In the countryhuman dimension/world thing, (which is explained in my countryhuman headcanon book go check it out), the states go to work at a building similar to that of the UN building where all the countries go. (this one just being for the US states obviously)

- DC is usually in charge of general meetings, or at least in charge of scheduling them. She hosts all joint meetings with the 50 states, and will sometimes appear in regional meetings.

- Regional meetings are between states in a certain region of the US (ex. northern, southern, midwest, southwest, east coast, west coast, etc.)

- America will also sometimes host general and regional meetings with the states (him & DC did this a lot during the height of the pandemic, always checking in on the states and having them report case numbers & whatnot)

- When America hosts a meeting, it usually means something serious is going on. (like a war, or a national crisis, international crisis, etc.)

- If DC or America aren't hosting the general meetings, they have chosen specific states as their backups.

Delaware, New York, and Texas are America's backups (& Delaware is America's righthand person! (new chapter idea ?))

Virginia and California are DC's backups, but any of these 5 states can fill in for DC or America if they're unavailable.

- Texas loves to be in charge of meetings. He likes leading the group and telling everyone what to do lol.

Cali is basically the same way, so her & Tex often fight over who will lead the meeting.

Virginia is the one who often steps in after Tex & Cali start fighting (but usually ends up in the fight herself). She's very nitpicky about things going her way (similar to DC) and thus intimidates the other states.

Delaware, despite being the nervous worrywart he is, is actually great at leading meetings. He knows what he's doing, and how to get everyone to listen. Most states (aside from Tex & Cali) would agree he's the designated leader of the bunch

And as for New York, he doesn't like to get involved.... he'll lead a meeting if he absolutely has to, but would rather lead his regional meetings and smaller groups.
