headcanons for the swing states!!

a swing state is defined as a US state where the two political parties (democrat & republican✌️) have a similar number of supporters and voters, making it hard to 'win' the state in national elections.

first, here are all of the swing states:

(all of these are ever changing, and no one can really agree on which state is a swing state or not, so i'm just basing this off of my personal knowledge and some research i've done ^^)

Arizona

Nevada

Wisconsin

Michigan

Ohio

Pennsylvania

Maine

New Hampshire

North Carolina

Florida

and these are the ones that had trouble this year/have trouble every few years:

Georgia

Texas

Colorado

New Mexico

now have some cool facts & info about each of these guys:

- as i've already explained, alabama (& pretty much the rest of the south) 'disowned' georgia from the south after she went blue in the 2020 election😭

- every time a state (california namely) tries to tell texas he's a swing state he denies it terribly

- ohio and michigan take bets on which political party will take the win in each other's state (it gets violent on election night)

- colorado is always really confused when it comes to politics and doesn't understand why he's a swing state

- north carolina gets bullied by south carolina and virginia by trying to get him to join their sides

- at this point georgia wishes political parties didn't even exist.

- maine (& nebraska) unlike the rest of the states doesn't have a winner-takes all system with the electoral votes, so that puts a bit less stress on her

- arizona and new mexico like to have civil discussions on what they think the outcome of the election will be (this is done purely to mock and make fun of the other swing states)

- florida likes to keep everyone guessing. she doesn't talk about politics at all, which has led a lot of states to think she doesn't know anything about it when in reality that's far from the truth. she's actually highly educated on the matter (bc SO many discrepancies have happened with the state of florida during national elections. she's prepared)

- nevada is tired.

- honestly so is every swing state.
