《♥︎TEXAS♥︎ and The Miracles of America》Tornado

Wind howled, threatening to tear trees up from the earth and into the sky. The very foundation of the states home felt as if it were going to bail out and cave in to the roaring winds.
Kansas was having a panic attack.
And Texas was about to do something very, very stupid.
"Tex, please, he'll be ok! Just come inside," Oklahoma said sternly, though he kept his voice calm. It wasn't uncommon for Kansas to unwillingly conjure a tornado when he felt very down, and the states knew to simply seek shelter and wait out the storm.
"I need to find him Ok?! DO YOU NOT SEE THE SIZE OF THIS B*TCH?" Texas exclaimed, motioning to the storm.
"YEAH, I DO, THAT'S WHY I DON'T WANT YA RUNNIN' INTO IT!" Oklahoma exclaimed. Texas spread out his wings and flew towards it anyway.
"WHAT IS HE DOING?!?!" California screamed, New York and Louisiana struggling to pull him inside.
Texas quickly realized that flying was not doing him much good, but was also dismayed to realize it did him much worse to be in a tornado in the first place. Texas mostly tried to protect himself from dying while he looked for Kansas.
"TEX!! GET OUT!" Kansas screamed. Texas didn't particularly want to, because he wanted to help Kansas calm down. However, the storm continued to rage as Kansas freaked out over hurting his friend, so ultimately there was no winning...
Especially since Texas got hit by some debris, making Kansas freak out more. Kansas then remembered Texas's Disney Princess power, and took a deep breath.
"TEX, GET YOUR SMOOCH ON, ALRIGHT?" Kansas exclaimed. Texas immediately panicked.
"STOPSTOPSTOPSTOPSTOPSTOOOOOOOP!!!"Texas screamed, being able to force his way to Kansas. Texas finally grabbed Kansas's arm before he did anything bad. Texas struggled to pull him into a tight embrace, the wind still threatening to carry them all the way to meet the Wizard of Oz himself.
"KANSAS, I KNOW I CAN KISS Y'ALL TO LIFE, BUT THAT'S FOR EMERGENCIES!!!" Texas exclaimed. Kansas stared at him incredulously.

"THIS ISN'T AN EMERGENCY?!" Kansas exclaimed, motioning towards the tornado swirling around them. Texas hugged him close.
"Texas exclaimed. Kansas tried to catch his breath, the storm around them calming. They stayed in an embrace until the storm faded to a slight gust of wind, and they heard Maine singing in the distance. Kansas gently cried, especially because he ruined the garden the states held so dear. Not only that, but Texas was desperately trying to hide the fact he was cut up from debris. The mansion was intact, but the exterior walls were damaged and blemished from the storm.
"I.... I can't.....I can't believe I........ I'm so sorry....," Kansas cried. "I messed everything up...," Kansas cried.
"Kansas, everything around us that's destroyed is replaceable. You aren't. If the storm got any worse, it could've taken you down... and what if it carried you far away? I can't kiss you back to life if I can't find you... I'm just glad you're ok, don't worry about the mess, ok?" Texas said. Maine continued to sing, giving Kansas a hug. California ran to Texas, sobbing.
"Stop being so stupid," California cried, falling into Texas's arms.
"Cali, I just-,"
"Texas, he's right... We realize how incredible your powers can be... but you can't let them be the death of you. You've come too close to death too many times now," Kentucky said, the rest of the states nodding. Texas just sighed and nodded.
"I'll be more careful...," Texas said flatly. Florida hissed, not believing his friend took their concerns to heart.
A few weeks later, the states were making the ballroom look absolutely perfect. Tennessee was practicing a song on the piano, one he trained a flock of white doves to glide in tune with. Washington arranged bundles upon bundles of flowers, California carefully making the roses shimmer a golden sparkle. Connecticut prepared a table full of snacks and treats, swatting away Zaru from stealing any food (Zaru is Alabama, Illinois & Michigan's monkey son, whom was wearing a small tuxedo gifted by California). Nevada made sure to bless the grooms with good luck on this special day, and West Virginia aged some fine wine for this occasion. America was standing at the alter, a bit nervous about the wedding that was about to happen.

"Ame? Is everything alright?" Texas asked. America chuckled.
"Yes, everything is fine... I'm just excited... and worried... I don't want anything to go wrong...," America said. Texas smiled.
"I understand... But hey, I'm sure everything will turn out great! Besides, you're getting married because you've fallen in love, not because you're trying to fall in love," Texas said. America smiled and nodded. Suddenly, guests started to take their seats, as well as the states already in the ballroom. Texas gave America a pat on the back, and took his seat as well. Once everyone was settled, the wedding ceremony began. Florida was both the ring bearer, and Lucy (a sweet spirit-girl Louisiana cares for) was the flower girl. The states tried not to laugh upon seeing the non-magical guest's reaction to the magic all around them. The guest's Britain invited seemed almost more interested in this strange new environment than the wedding; Except for Ireland of course, who was elated to finally have his fairy wings out of their hiding spot.
Soon, Britain walked down the isle, his eldest brother England guiding him along. He was wearing a shimmering white-and-gold suit (again, gifted by California). Despite America's worries of something unfortunate ruining their wedding day, the ceremony flew by without any problems arising. They exchanged their vows, rings, and a kiss, as the guests looked on with smiles on their faces.
And of course, the after-party was just as wholesome, and infinitely more fun.
"Congratulations you two, I can see a beautiful future ahead for you," Kentucky said to the newlyweds after the ceremony. America smiled, happy everyone could be with his for this celebration.
Meanwhile, Kansas was outside in the garden, just humming to himself. The wind was calm, and the sunset was fading into a deep blue night. Kansas just sat and took it all in... the smell of the roses, the twinkle of stars, the scales brushing his shoulder...
That last thing kinda freaked him out.
"FLORIDA! Gosh, don't sneak up on people like that!" Kansas exclaimed. Florida just smiled innocently. "What are you doing out here?" Kansas asked. Florida just stared blankly at him, making Kansas feel a bit uncomfortable. "Well?" Kansas said. Florida smiled once more, but in a way that made Kansas realize...
"Right... you can't talk...," Kansas said, calming a bit. Florida plopped down next to him, looking up at the stars. "You wanted a break from the noise or somethin?" Kansas asked. Florida shrugged. Kansas sighed. "I wish I could go back up there.... After what happened a few weeks ago I just... I dunno...," Kansas muttered, hugging his knees to his chest.
"T...ooor.... nad...o?" Florida rasped. Kansas nodded.
"Causin' that much damage... I just don't feel right stayin' inside... nobody wants to invite a storm inside," Kansas said. Florida nodded.
"You.... no....w...innd...," Florida hissed.
"I'm not a storm... but I cause them, don't I?" Kansas said.
"Sto...p em.... too," Florida rasped once more, before coughing up blood. "Hu...rts.... talk," Florida said. Kansas hurriedly placed a hand over Florida's mouth.
"Shhhh, you don't gotta talk if it hurts...," Kansas said. Florida smiled sadly, pushing Kansas's hand away.
"Hurts.... a...lone.... hurts...," Florida coughed out. Kansas sighed.
"It does hurt to be alone...," Kansas admitted.
"You...do..n..t.... got... be....a...lone...if..hurts," Florida rasped. Kansas hugged Florida, shushing him.
"Shut it Florida, you're hurting yourself... I'll come in with ya, ok?" Kansas said. Florida cooed happily, and the two of them rejoined the party.
