《Taming the Rogue》Sore

I watched with a smirk as Harlow winced when she swiveled her feet around to the edge of the bed to get ready for school. I was already halfway ready, but she takes all of two and a half minutes.
"Someone a little sore?" I raised a brow as an egotistical smirk crept on my lips.
Harlow shot me a glare as she made her way to her room to get her clothes. "Watch you're attitude Harlow!" I snapped at her, but I won't punish her today unless she really fucks up.
When Harlow walked back into the room she was ready to go, but she was still walking slowly. "Did you have to go so hard?" Harlow whined.
"You were the one who yelled for me to. More so begged me to, so you can blame your pain on yourself." I chuckled as the realization hit her, and then her cheeks turned a deep shade of red. "Please don't stop. Harder Mistress." I mimicked her which caused Harlow's cheeks to grow even darker as she shot a glare at me.
"I forgot that it was a school night." Harlow mumbled as she sat on my bed, waiting for me to finish.
"I won't make you run the track today. It's a free day today because my baby is sore." I shot her a wink and she rolled her eyes.
"I'm not that weak. I can so run a mile right now." She stood up and then sat right back down, putting her hands on her inner thighs. "Maybe not. Definitely not. It feels like it's on fire and the pressure is unbearable when I stand." She whined.
"Then don't stand." I gave her a sarcastic smile before tossing her a basic anti inflammatory bottle and she let out a sigh of relief when she saw what it was.
"Oh thank God! I may be able to walk ten feet today!" Harlow threw her hands up dramatically as she fell onto the bed.
"Just take the meds." I rolled my eyes before finishing my hair. I have to put a shit ton of hairspray and bobby pins in it because of the amount of humidity and running around I have to do, due to the idiots who can't seem to learn how to play nice.
Harlow wobbled into the bathroom with me and put the bottle on the counter before sitting beside it. "Can you wait to do your lipstick?"
I smirked at her as I put the last bobby pin in and stepped between her legs.
She wrapped her legs around my waist as she sat up straight on the counter.
"Why do you want me to wait to put my lipstick on?" I looked up at her innocently.
"Kiss?" Harlow gave me a cheesy smile.
"But what if I want to see the tint of my lipstick on your lips today?" I raised a brow.
"Then I will be called out for it and harassed about it all day." Harlow gave me a serious look.
"Can I leave a hickey then?" I raised a brow as my innocent smile grew bigger.
"Yeah," Harlow quickly took her shirt off, giving me room to mark my territory.

I cupped her cheeks and connected my lips to hers, claiming my dominance and making sure she knew that they belonged to me.
A quiet moan escaped from Harlow and I smirked against her lips before leaving a trail of kisses to where I was going to leave a hickey. "But there's a bruise there from last night." She whimpered.
I ignored her and continued with what I was doing.
"Have you taken anymore anti inflammatory meds since this morning?" I raised a brow at Harlow as she sat beside me, watching the class. I had her raise her hand and tell me she was sore from running and she gave me a fake note.
She shook her head no.
"Why not?" I looked back out at the students as they played volleyball. I let them choose what to do today instead of a free-day.
"Because I don't like to take medicine." She whispered.
"I told you when we were in the car to take the meds every four hours." I spoke in a growl so she knew I was slipping into my dominant headspace. It happens anywhere when she goes against what I say.
"I'm sorry Mistress." Harlow whispered and hung her head low.
"If you weren't already in pain I would punish you when we got home, so instead no tv or outside time." I spoke with authority as I looked dead ahead. When it comes to non-physical punishments, taking away her outside time is the worst for her because then she has issues with containing her anger, and when she snaps at me... that's when the fun for me begins. "Take the meds now." I ordered her and she slowly nodded as she took her bag in hand and fished the bag of the small red, sugar coated, pills. "Drink some of this." I handed her my water bottle and she gently took it out of my hand before pressing the cup to her lips and taking a swig in her mouth before popping the pills in her mouth and swallowing them. "Good girl." I shot her a quick wink before facing back towards the dull volleyball game. Harlow makes it interesting, because then it's the other team just trying to stop her spiked balls from hitting the ground.
"I wanna go play." Harlow mumbled and looked at her feet.
"How are you feeling though? Be honest." I raised a brow at her, saying that I'll know if she lies.
"I'm still a little sore, but no where near as bad as this morning and I believe walking around and getting active will help." Harlow gave me a convincing smile.
I sighed before blowing my whistle. "Stop the game. Guys versus girls, Harlow is playing now." Like last time, the guys whined while the girls cheered.
I was kind of surprised when the game didn't get interesting once Harlow joined, because once Harlow scored three points back to back, the guys pretty much gave up and just hit the ball up if it came to them.
Once we got in the car, Harlow started to break down, to the point where there was drool in her mouth and her face was a dark shade of red. She started to gag here and there, and I honestly thought she was crying so hard that she was going to throw up.

"Harlow baby, what's wrong?" I asked as I wrapped my arms around her to feel her whole body trembling as if she was in pain.
She wouldn't talk to me. She just ignored me the whole time.
"Is there anything I can do?" I whispered as I rubbed her back and held her to my chest.
Harlow didn't speak a word, instead she kept crying, so I took her hand in mine before driving us home.
As soon as we got home she went straight to bed and locked the door to her bedroom, and obviously pushed her dresser in front of the door.
My last line of defense was Tate, and guess what? He was crying too (not as hard, but still crying), because Harlow was crying and the fact that they are twins and litter mates, the connection is super strong; on top of that they're like wolves in a pack. It's like they can tell when the other is off.
"Tate, I need your help. Do you know what is wrong with Harlow?" I squatted in front of him as he sat on the edge of his bed.
"She's in pain." Tate responded in between breaths. "Her wolf is fighting to escape and her bones are constantly trying to shift around. It isn't because she can't switch, its because she can't control it. Imagine breaking every bone in your body over and over again. That's what she is experiencing. Even if she switches into wolf form she will still be in pain, if not more, and she literally cannot function. If she stands, she may fall in a split second. I don't get these pains because I am constantly switching to my wolf and I received more wolf blood than she did. The only thing that will help her right now is direct, skin to skin, contact with her match. It will calm her wolf and potentially stop it. Her bones just won't stop. It happens about once or twice a month, but it will get better with the more time she is with you." Tate did his best to fight his tears back, but winced every now and then from feeling Harlow's pain to some degree.
"She has barricaded herself in her room." I sighed as I stood up.
"She often times snaps at people when she is in pain. She doesn't want to snap at you and hurt you." Tate whispered. "I'll push her door open so you can get to her. I've done it before." He sighed as he shakily stood up.
"Thank you." I gave him a small smile, but Tate didn't pay any attention to it.
"I just don't want my sister to be in pain anymore. She needs you." Tate mumbled.
When we got to her room, Tate smelled the crevice of the door. "Dresser. I can smell the clean clothes." He twisted the lock that I had already picked before pushing his way in. It was like watching a truck plow through six feet of snow.
All that we heard in response to Tate's actions was Harlow continuing to cry while groaning at our intrusion. "Thank you." I whispered in Tate's ear before walking into Harlow's room and crawling into bed with her. "I'm going to take your clothes off for skin to skin contact. Nothing else." I kissed her cheek which seemed to ease her pain for the split second.
I carefully slid her clothes off before taking off mine and sliding under the blankets with her, immediately curling up into her side and draping my legs and arms across her to make sure to make as much of skin to skin contact to help her.
My fingers combed through her brown while I hummed to her.
"It h-urts so bad." Harlow whimpered.
"I know baby. I'll doing everything I can. It'll be over soon." I kissed her temple before laying my head back onto the pillow. "Is there anything I can do?"
"Sing pl-please." She stuttered out.
"I'm not very good, but I will do my best for you." I took a deep breath as I tried to pick a song. She's probably going to leave me after hearing me sing, but at least she loves me.
Harlow nuzzled her head in my neck, urging for me to start singing.
I took in a breath of air for my lungs before singing softly to her. "Cold, 'cause she has been here before
She doesn't cry anymore, no looking back
No, she doesn't go to the bar
Too many lovers she scarred
And they want her back
She loves control, she wants it her way
And there's no way she'll ever stay unless you give it up
She loves control, she wants it her way
And all it takes is just one taste, you wanna give it up
Bold, you know she lives for the thrill
You know she lusts for the kill
So they won't come back
No, no, no, no, no, no, no
Don't, don't you try taming the storm
Don't say you haven't been warned
'Cause she won't like that, like that
'Cause she loves control, she wants it her way
And there's no way she'll ever stay unless you give it up
She loves control, she wants it her way
And all it takes is just one taste, you wanna give it up
She loves control
She loves control
Say what you want
But the way she kills you, makes you feel alive
And you know that it feels right
She loves control, she wants it her way
And there's no way she'll ever stay unless you give it up
She loves control, she wants it her way
And all it takes is just one taste, you wanna give it up
She loves control
She loves, she loves
She loves, she loves
You know that she loves it, she can't live without it, no
Control, hey."
She did her best to rest her head on my chest without hurting herself even more than before. "T-thank you. N-never sa-say you c-can't sing a-gain. You h-ave a beaut-iful voice." Harlow mumbled against my bare skin and pressed a weak kiss to me.
I rubbed her arm in response and continued to hum random songs.
Within a half hour she was asleep in my arms. I could tell that she was still in pain, but at least she can sleep through it.

8 166Braza the Architect - Magical Crafter, Builder, and Adventurer!
This is the story of an older man who lived a hard but full life, being reincarnated into a fantasy world as a human-lizard hybrid. The new world is violent, magic is real, a game-like development system crushes physics and natural law under its ambivalent thumb, and myth and legend don't just meet, they chase you down to eat you.Follow Braza as he tries to make a very different life for himself in a familiar but ultimately alien world. In this story the protaginist will not just be a muscle bound monster. He is not a proper hero, willing to sacrifice himself for the good of a stranger, but neither is he a maniacal villain. He is trying to survive, and he is trying to give himself and those he deems himself responsible for a seat at the table of the"goodly", the "civilized" races. He is trying to create a secure home for his people, to arrange beneficial trade agreements, explore ancient ruins, decipher ancient runes, push the boundaries of magic to create a better life for everyone around him, to learn about the history of the world and the multiverse, and ultimately attempt to become powerful enough to take on a being that even the gods themselves fear. This is my first story and it blends many different elements and styles. It's a bit darker than most of what I have read on Royal Road, but even with that, I hope you give it a try, and I hope you like it!

A world where magic must be hidden from mankind is a world where mages have no reason to exist. She was, as they say, a living embodiment of a thousand year old curse upon the Kingdom and humanity as a whole. And the only way to handle a curse is to get rid of it--which is precisely what the Kingdom had been doing for centuries--eliminating any being that contained even an ounce of enchanted blood. Zara has lived most of her life with the threat of death hanging over her head, though it never averted her heightening curiosity about magic, nor the abilities innate within her. And when a powerful, enigmatic Sorcerer comes to her with a proposition, Zara finally sees her chance to embrace the curse she was born with. It was a chance laced with precarity and destruction, but a chance nonetheless...
