《Taming the Rogue》Symptoms?
Harlow has been throwing up all night like a recovering drug addict and it's scaring the shit out of me. Is she allergic to something in the alcohol she drank? Is she drinking enough water and electrolytes to keep up with hydration? Is it just something simple?
"Go to sleep. I've got a hair tie, and I can guarantee you I am not a pretty sight to look at right now." Harlow let out a throaty chuckle, but then threw up because she laughed. "Fuck."
"Drink a few more sports drinks and then I'll be happy. Until then, I'm not going anywhere." I crossed my arms across my chest as I looked down at her as she had her arms crossed over the toilet seat and resting her head on her arms.
"I can't drink anything. It just makes me sick again." She mumbled as spit was falling out of her mouth.
"If you don't drink more I'm going to have to take you to the hospital so you don't get overly dehydrated." I ran my fingers through my hair as I gave her a serious look.
"Babe, I'm fi-" she had to stop talking to throw up again.
"You're not fine. Brush your teeth and then put a shirt and a pair of shoes on. My mind is set and it isn't up for debate." I put my hands on my hips and tilted my head to the side slightly.
She was visibly shaking from her blood sugar being so damn low from throwing up so much.
"Can you stand?" I raised a brow.
Harlow simply nodded her head before wobbling as she got to her feet.
I went ahead and held onto her waist and led her to the sink before getting her toothbrush and toothpaste for her. "Brush your teeth while I go get you actual clothing and your slides. Do you want socks with your slides?"
She shook her head 'no' and I took off to go get her a shirt and shoes. All she does is walk around shirtless. I'm not even kidding. She has a sports bra on, but she walks around the house showing off her abs and it drives me up the fucking wall. I can't tell her to put a shirt on because I'd be lying if I said I didn't think she was even hotter without a shirt.
"What can I do for y-" The nurse stopped mid sentence when she saw me practically dragging Harlow into the hospital by her waist. I wanted to go ahead and carry her, but I don't want her to bitch at me about it and I'm definitely not capable of lifting pure muscle.
The nurse ran to get a wheelchair and then wheeled Harlow to the back.
I made sure to stay hot on her heels so no one could stop me.
"Symptoms?" The nurse asked over her shoulder as she waved for a male nurse to help her get Harlow up onto the stretcher.
"She's been throwing up a lot which has made her dehydrated and caused her blood sugar to drop. She's tried to drink some sports drinks and even just water, but it made her throw up even more." I listed off.

A doctor walked in as I listed off the symptoms. "Get an IV drip going stat, and blood work to make sure we don't need to fix her blood sugar through medication. I want a flu test and I'll send a few other orders to the lab."
My eyes went wide at the sight of a big ass needle being inserted into Harlow's arm.
"What is your relation to her?" The nurse asked as she taped the needle to her skin.
"I'm her teacher, but she has been staying with me since her whole family is in jail. She is Harlow Rogue." I look at both of the nurses to see all of the blood drain from their faces.
"Since there isn't anyone to sign consent papers we'll need to do it through a judge." The nurse gave me a fake smile before running out of the room.
"Miss Lovato," Harlow mumbled. "I feel like shit." She cracked a small smile.
I slightly laughed. "I know, just hang in there." I shot her a wink so the nurse wouldn't think anything else of our conversation. Basically, we continued the conversation through body language.
"You have pneumonia and the flu at the same time. It's why it's so bad." The doctor gave Harlow a sympathetic smile before informing me about the medication she's being prescribed and handing me a bottle. It took over a hour of testing to figure it all out. A few x-rays were taken of her chest, her throat was swabbed, her nose was swabbed, and blood was drawn. My poor baby was spent.
"So I'm good to go?" Harlow spoke with less question than objective as she swiveled her feet to the side of the bed and stepping down, only to fall right into me on the chair next to her bed.
"You don't look like you're ready to go." I spoke hesitantly and looked at the doctor.
"She'll be weak, but she can go home. I'll get you a wheelchair for her." He gave me a smile before walking out of the room.
"I'm feeling pretty good. They've got me on some good stuff for the pain Dems." Harlow whispered in my ear as she laughed.
"Great, that's nice. When we get back you are going straight to bed." I tried to stand her up, but she wasn't even trying to stand. "Harlow, if you don't cut the shit you're going to be sleeping on the kitchen tile floor." I quietly growled in her ear.
She immediately stood up straight, or at least tried to. Harlow wobbled back and forth as she held onto me and the stretcher for dear life.
"Stay in bed Harlow. I'll be back in three minutes, and if you aren't in bed I'll whoop you." I pointed at her as I stared the resistant and annoying Harlow down.
"Yes ma'am!" Harlow saluted me in a sarcastic manner, but stopped when she saw my face change into a pissed one.
"Don't start Harlow. Just because you're sick doesn't mean you can get away with shit like that." I snapped at her.

I watched as she cowered back into her cave-like bed before walking out of the room to go change and get a glass of water that I am in dire need of.
About halfway through of me changing my clothes, a soft knock on the door made me want to pin her to her fucking bed. "What Harlow?"
"I'm lonely and I miss you." Soft sobs came from the other side of the door, so I quickly slid the rest of my clothes on before opening the door and pulling a crying Harlow to my chest. "I want cuddles because I don't feel good."
"I'll be in there as soon as I take vitamin c and drink some water." I whispered as I rubbed her back soothingly. She's so high off of those pain killers. They gave her way too much.
"Can I stay out here with you?" She softly cried as she held me to her tighter.
"Yes, as long as you promise to go straight to bed afterwards." I got out of her grip before taking her hand and leading her to the kitchen and sitting her down on one of the barstools. "Stay." I put my hand up as if I was talking to a dog before drinking a glass of water and taking some vitamin c supplements.
"Demi," Harlow whined.
"I'm sorry, but how old are you?" I put my hands on my hips after I put the empty glass in the sink.
"A lot." She giggled before falling back in her chair and to the floor.
"How fucked up are you right now?" I groaned as I tried to pick her up.
"Yes," Harlow smiled at me as she did her best to get to her feet.
I closed my eyes and took a deep breath.
"We go to bed now?" Harlow looked down at me once I got her to her feet.
"You go to bed now. I don't want to sleep in the same bed as a high Harlow." I sighed as we slowly made our way to her bedroom.
"I promise I'll be nice." Harlow whined as I lightly pushed her onto her bed, making sure she didn't hit her head on the way down.
"It's not that you won't be nice Harlow. It's that I need to go to sleep and you're still an awake mess." I crawled into the bed and pulled her to the back of it before pulling the blankets over her.
"Can you stay with me till I fall asleep?" Harlow gave me her puppy eyes that she knows are my weakness.
I took a deep breath with a small smile growing on my face, because she really and truly is adorable, even when she is high. "Go to sleep baby. I'll stay till you do." I kissed the top of her head before playing with her hair.
"Cuddles?" Harlow opened her arms up for me, but I shook my head with a smile.
"You'll wake up when I leave if we cuddle." I brushed a strand of hair behind her ear.
"No I won't. If I do I promise I won't complain." She gave me her puppy eyes again and I groaned in response.
"Stop giving me that look Harlow. There is only so much that look can do." I mumbled as I got underneath the covers with her and she pulled me to her chest.
"I don't like being sick." Harlow tiredly mumbled before turning away from me and coughing into a rag she has in here for coughing.
"I know, and I don't like you being sick. It worries me and it makes me sad that you don't feel good." I pressed my lips to her forehead.
"No, you are not going to school. You are too sick." I lightly pushed Harlow back into her room.
"But I wanna be with you all day." Harlow whined.
"You aren't with me all day when we're at school anyways." I shook my head.
"But I'm close to you." She mumbled.
"I'll text you as much as I can and I'll call you during lunch. You can't be spreading the flu around to everyone Harlow." I gave her a stern look before walking into the kitchen to get a water before heading out.
"Can I have a hug before you leave?" Harlow mumbled.
"Yeah, just a second." I smiled over at her before grabbing a bottle of water from the fridge.
"Are you sure I can't go?" She whispered.
"As much as I want you to come with me, you can't. You're as sick as a dog Harlow. No pun intended." I have her a teasing smile before opening up my arms for a hug.
She slowly wobbled over to me before pulling me to her chest.
I carefully rocked us back and forth so she wouldn't fall.
"I want to kiss you, but I also don't want to get you sick, so I'll just hug you for a second longer." Harlow mumbled in a defeated tone.
"I took vitamin c. You can kiss me Harlow." I smiled up at her, but she shook her head.
"I don't want you to get sick. Just because you took some vitamin c doesn't mean you're invincible to sicknesses." Harlow rubbed my back once more before leaving me to go to her room. "Bye, I'll see you around four. If you see Coach Tanner and or Coach George, please tell them I'm sick for me."
"I'll find them. Go back to sleep." I blew her a kiss on my way out the door. I made sure to lock it behind myself because her family is batshit crazy.
I really don't want to leave her, but I don't want her to be sick at school.
My phone buzzed and I looked to see my dad calling.
What does he want now?

The Deathseeker [Under Revision]
NOTE: This story has dark elements, but it's neither grimdark nor particularly edgy. It's also currently being revised. Satan's Axe...Lord of High Honor...The Immortal Giant...The Black Maelstrom...Son of Thunderfield...The Gods' Retribution. Dalric had many names. None were as fitting as his last, Dalric the Deathseeker. Born from an unwanted mating between the greatest warriors of the time, death was his only true kin. It birthed him, molded him, and now standing in the middle of a lifeless battlefield, it drenched him. The blood of thousands of soldiers soaked his skin. Two hundred thousand men approached him that day. All of them sought his life, none of them left with theirs. But they would not die in vain, they had accomplished their mission. Hidden beneath a thousand layers of their blood, was Dalric's very own. Feeling his life fade, he gazed weakly at his work. A seemingly endless array of corpses laid battered and disfigured before him. Some bore faces of horror, most had no face at all. His most trusted companion floated in front of him, blocking the view. Waves of sorrow flowed between them. “My time has finally come. I’ve begged for death and it’s finally arrived. My work is done...and so is yours. You’re free to be who you were meant to.” With his contract with the gods fulfilled, they were truly free. The centuries of torment would end. No longer would they have to walk the path of a monster. Little did Dalric know, the devil was in the details. What To Expect: A good time. In a few more words than that, a cast of believable characters in a unique world dealing with conflicts and problems a little bit more complex than punching the big evil guy in the face. Just a little though. Minimum Word Count a Week: 5000 Release Time(s): Between Friday 12pm EST and Monday 6am EST I also write A King in the Clouds
