《Taming the Rogue》Can I Stay Here Tonight?

"Nope, you didn't spend enough. Go buy more." I shooed Demi back into the store.
"I've already spent over a thousand dollars in this store alone!" Demi glared at me.
"Yeah, but we've got two cars to fill up with stuff." I smirked at her.
"Will you at least let me go into a different store?" Demi sighed, knowing she won't win this battle.
"Yeah, we're in a mall. You choose!" I spoke dramatically and my voice echoed throughout the mall.
"You're treating me like royalty." She smiled and shook her head as a deep shade of red flushed her cheeks.
"Yes, and I won't treat you any less than that." I smiled brightly at her which caused her to blush even more.
"What am I gonna do with you?" Demi chuckled and shook her head with a smile.
"I don't know, but you haven't gotten rid of me yet." I smiled before following her into the next store. "What are we doing in a sporting goods store?" I started to instantly look around as soon as the first pair of running shoes came into view.
"You are going to shop too." She looked over her shoulder before walking into the football section.
"How did you find out my weakness?" I groaned. I could spend hours in here shopping.
"It isn't hard to guess. You're an athlete who eats, sleeps, and breathes sports." Demi victoriously smirked over her shoulder.
"I can shop later though." I mumbled in a defeated tone as I caught up to her.
"But now that you're here you can't leave. Now go shop some. Go buy new cleats, new gloves, a new helmet, new track shoes, and more. Just go spoil yourself. I'll shop here too. I am a gym teacher after all." She giggled as she watched my facial expression when I saw some really nice cleats that I could only dream of buying before the court case.
"Okay," I whispered. I'm in trouble. Definitely gonna test the bank.
"Where are we gonna put all of this?" Demi giggled as I brought in another big ass chair she wanted from the new truck. We now have a truck for the really bad storms we get here, and a sports car just because we can.
"I don't know. You point and I'll put it there." I let out a breath as I put it down.
"I'm going to need a storage unit." Demi shook her head and ran her fingers through her hair.
"Or get a bigger house?" I raised a brow.
"I can't afford a bigger house and you can't buy one till you are a legal adult." She out her hands on her hips before glaring at me. "And you will not buy me a house."
"I won't buy you a house. I'll buy me two houses when I'm of age, and you can move into one of them." I gave her a cheesy smile. In reality I want to buy a single house for both of us to live in, but considering the fact that we aren't even together, not even close to it, and she's my teacher it wouldn't be a good idea for a teacher to move in with a student.

Is it appropriate for me to treating my teacher like this? Probably not. But the real question is, do I care? That is a big no.
I walked over to Demi as she tried to pick up the couch on her own and move it across the rug. "I've got it Demi. You just point and look pretty."
Her cheeks turned a deep shade of red. Harlow: 1; Demi: 200.
I dragged the couch over to the wall she pointed and centered it before she could flip out on me for not having it center.
"I could've done that." Demi mumbled.
"I know, but I want you to relax and let me do this stuff." I gave her a cheesy, convincing smile and she giggled before sitting down on the couch I moved. With the couch moved, I can move the other shit into places that will make sense.
"I could've helped you, you know?" Demi sighed as she stood next to me, looking at my work.
It took a little over two hours to move everything across the carpet to her liking. "I know, but just so you know. The next house you're getting better not have a carpet living room or you're on your own." I chuckled as I put my hands on my knees.
"What if I like carpet?" Demi put her hands on her hips.
"I know you don't. You talked about how you like hardwood floor better than carpet in class before when some kid asked you." I shrugged.
"How do you remember literally everything?" She looked up at me.
"I don't remember everything. I just do my best to remember everything about you." Probably took it too far, but oh well. What's the worst she can do? Kick me out? That's nothing.
"Are you flirting? You send a whole hell of a lot of mixed signals." She turned my head to look at her by my chin.
"Maybe I am. Maybe I'm not. You'll never know." I smirked down at her.
She clenched her jaw at my stubbornness before slapping my arm and going into her room. "I'm going to bed."
"It's only midnight." I raised a brow at the doorway she just walked through.
"And I'm 100% human who doesn't stay up at night to howl at the moon." Demi gave me a sarcastic smile when she came into view again.
"I do not howl at the moon." I put my hands on my hips.
She just stopped what she was doing and gave me a blank stare. The 'do you really wanna go' look.
"I don't!" My voice gets higher pitched when I get defensive.
"Harlow, you howled at the moon till two in the morning the night before last in your sleep. Don't go telling me you don't howl at the moon. You stood up out of bed, wobbled over to the window, and started to howl." Demi gave me a look before crawling in bed since she changed clothes about an hour ago.

"That doesn't count." I shot back.
She gave me her famous 'try me' look as she crossed her arms across her chest with her back leaning against the headboard of her bed.
I sucked my lips in, because the look I'm getting is the one I get when I'm about to get hit. "I'm sorry." I mumbled before walking out of her room and walking into my room.
"Why are you apologizing?" Demi yelled out to me, but I didn't respond.
I just let my body relax and try to sleep while my mind raced with a million things at once.
"Harlow," someone whispered as they shook me.
Maybe if I don't move they'll go away and let me sleep.
"Please wake up. I had a really bad nightmare." The angelic voice spoke softly as I was shook by my shoulder that was exposed from the blanket again.
I groaned before wiping my eyes to see Demi with a tear stained face. "What's wrong?" I panicked in a groggy voice. I don't have a sexy morning voice. I have a morning voice that sounds like I've been smoking ten packs a day since I was five.
"I had a nightmare because you're mad at me." She cried and her voice cracked.
"I'm not mad at you. Why would you think that?" I furrowed my eyebrows together.
"Because you just walked away without saying anything to me and went to bed." She sat beside me in my cave like bed, so I took her hands in mine before placing a gentle kiss to each one.
"I am not mad at you Demi. I just thought you were mad at me and you wanted to beat the shit out of me, because of the look on your face." I gave her a sincere look.
"It looked like the look your father gave you before he hurt you, didn't it?" Her voice held regret and apology.
"You'd get mad if I lied, so I'll be honest by saying it frightened me a bit, but I know you of all people would never hit me." I let go of her hands and opened up my arms. "Come here."
Without hesitation she slid under the blankets and curled up in my arms.
"I've got you. Just breathe Dems." I whispered and kissed the top of her head.
Her whole figure shook in my arms and it was breaking my heart. "Why are you so caring about a teacher?"
"You are more than a teacher to me. You're my hero." I rubbed her back as she rested her head right over my heart.
"All I did was take you in." Demi tried to be humble, but she did more than take me in. She took my whole fucking heart.
I took a deep breath before speaking. "You did more than take me in Demi. You know that." I whispered just loud enough for her to hear.
"What do you mean?" Demi lifted her head up and looked me in the eyes with her tired, bloodshot from crying so much, eyes.
A small smile appeared on my lips. "You can kick me out if it makes you too uncomfortable, but wolves are kinda made for each other. At least the ones in the lab. There is a chemical connection that they can smell. I cannot smell it, but I can feel it. Tanner told you that you were my match, and he was telling the truth. Like I said, if you want to get rid of me, want me to move to a different school, or anything else after hearing that let me know. It's a lot to take in that a wolf-like human is matched up with you, but I have no control over it. Meeting you was fate. Trusting you was a choice. But falling for you was out of my hands." I smiled at her as her face lit up.
"Why would I kick you out for that? I looked into it so I could prove to you that matches go both ways. I feel it too, and damn is it a good feeling. I thought the signs I was giving off was enough to tell you, but I guess I didn't give off enough." Her smile was small, but genuine.
"Where does this put us at three in the morning?" I smiled down at her.
"Will you be my girlfriend? I know I'm different than other girls with me being a natural dom, but is that okay?" Demi gave me a cheesy smile.
I nodded with an even bigger smile. "Yes, it's perfectly fine. It gives me a sense of security. Yes I'll be your girlfriend. What kind of question is that?" I pressed a soft kiss her forehead before pulling away and looking her in the eyes.
"We've gotta stay on the down low till you graduate this spring." She gave me a sad smile.
"I know, and that's okay." I gave her a reassuring smile. "Me not being able to hold your hand in public will not effect my ability to love you."
"Can I stay here tonight?" She nervously bit her lip.
"Yeah, of course." I smiled as she scooted up some and rested her head in the crook of my neck.
"Goodnight," I could feel her smile against my skin.
"Goodnight, wake me if you need me." I rubbed her arm once before pulling the blankets over her more and wrapping my arms around her protectively.
