《Taming the Rogue》Humbling

Some bitch keeps on staring at my Harlow. Is she really mine? No, but she still isn't allowed to look at her.
She's been fucking drooling over her all class and I've began to get pissy. No, not pissy. I've began to get fucking territorial which is ten times worse.
"Miss Lovato, please get her to leave me alone." Harlow gave me a SOS look, but I can't tell someone to stop staring at someone. Like, I can, but they aren't doing anything wrong.
"If she does something physical then I can, but until then I can't. I'm sorry." I gave her a sympathetic smile, but she just rolled her eyes before getting back into the basketball game.
"You seem to be getting close to Harlow?" Tanner smiled as he came up and stood beside me.
"Yeah, she's starting to trust me more and more." I smiled as I watched her play. Not even the guys had abs like her, and let me tell you for the one hundredth time, her abs are hot as hell.
"Do you see why I couldn't exactly explain what you would see that night?" Tanner gave me a knowing smile to hide the fact that we were talking about something serious out in the open.
"Yeah, it wasn't bad though. She just laid on the couch in pain." My face instantly dropped as I thought about that night. I couldn't do anything for her.
"She stayed on the couch?" Tanner looked at me with pure shock.
"Yeah, why? Is that a bad thing?" I spoke hesitantly.
"She has never stayed still during one of those nights. Nearly every full moon she has that, and last time she went out on a run and didn't come back till three days later, because she ran so far into the woods. She gets violent as well. Breaking things. Hurting people. How did you get her to stay calm?" Tanner looked at me as if I had a cure for cancer. She stayed calm with me? She didn't kill me? So what? Isn't that normal human courtesy?
I'd tell him that I kissed her hand if she wasn't my student, but since she is that is a big no no. "I don't know. I sat with her for a little bit, because I didn't want to leave her alone in that much pain till she told me I had to leave." I whispered and looked around to make sure none of the students could've heard me.
Tanner looked at me and his eyes widened. "You're her match." He whispered back.
"I'm her what?" I furrowed my eyebrows and slightly turned to him.
"I've gotta go Demi. I'll see you later." Tanner started to bolt out of the gym.
"Wait, what is going on?" I called out to him, but he just gave me an empathetic smile.
What the actual fuck? Not just 'what the fuck.' What the actual fuck just happened?
My gaze drifted back over to see Harlow dunking the ball into the hoop and swinging a little to be a show off.
The timer went off on my phone, indicating that the game was over, so I blew my whistle and they all stood still. Now they fucking listen after I made them run. Did it phase Harlow? Of course not, but she wasn't doing anything wrong so she was the least of my worries.

"Put the ball in the bin and then line up on the line shoulder to shoulder." I watched as one girl ran the ball over to the bin before she got in line with all of the others.
Apparently Harlow and Jackson knew what was coming, so they made sure someone was in between the two of them.
"Ones go to the right side, twos go to the left side." I counted all twenty of them off before putting dodge balls along the line that divided the two groups in half. "Everyone has to be behind the foul line and when I blow the whistle you can run and get the ball. You guys know my rules. You get hit and you don't catch it, you're out. Last team standing rule." I quickly jogged over to the sidelines before blowing my whistle.
Harlow bolted and just rolled as many balls back to her team that she could. Somehow she didn't get hit, but this is Harlow we're talking about. She's got fucking lightning speed.
"She is still staring at me like I'm her next meal." Harlow muttered as she walked passed me and into the locker room.
I didn't say anything, but I know she has been staring at her. I've been watching the bitch drool over what's mine for the past hour.
What I'm still stuck on is what Tanner said. I'm 'her match.' Match to what? Go fish?
"Fucking hell! Would you stop fucking staring at me?" Harlow's voice was filled with rage. The door to the locker room was closed, but she yelled so loud that it might as well have been open.
This is the part where I come in and run into the locker room to see Harlow killing the girl, so off I go.
I swung the door open to see three girls all up on Harlow and she was trying to push them away without throwing them across the room.
My hands balled into fists as I pulled the girls off of Harlow before standing in front of Harlow.
"If you don't do what you need to do right now I will drag you three to the woods by your fake ass weaves." Harlow growled lowly behind me.
"Harlow, let me handle this." I looked at her over my shoulder. "If you three don't do what you came in here to do right now, I will take you to the office." I looked down at the three of them the best I could, but with me being 5'4" it's a bit of a challenge.
"For what? She was the one who was pushing us!" Bri, one of the biggest bitches in the school, spat at me.
"For harassment." I spoke in a calm tone. I need to be professional.
"Whatever, you'll want me later on tonight like before Harlow. I know you." Hope, the girl who has been drooling over Harlow, rolled her eyes before grabbing her shit and leaving, her friends doing the same.
"I genuinely hate those girls." Harlow sighed as soon as the door closed and we were the only ones left.
"What was she talking about?" I turned and raised a brow.
Harlow looked at her feet and put her hands in her pockets. "For a long period of time my parents kicked me out. It didn't help any that it was the middle of winter. Hope took me in, and in return she wanted sex from me. I did anything I could to be able to get food and have shelter, and that was all there was. I hated snow days. That's all I'd do the whole day, and I hate myself for it." She whispered.

"Harlow, don't hate yourself. You did what you had to do. It's admirable that you didn't give up." I pulled her into a hug, and my ear pressed against her heart.
"I don't see what's very admirable about me having sex for a living." Harlow sarcastically chuckled.
"What is admirable is that you pushed through the downs and did your best which got you here. In my arms." Fuck it. I went and said it.
Harlow didn't say another word. Instead, she wrapped her arms around me tighter and nuzzled her face in my neck.
"Let's go home." I whispered.
"Can we stop and get some more clothes from my place on the way back please? You can say no. I can find a way for Jackson to bring me some if needed." Harlow nervously rambled.
"Yes we can stop by your place and get you clothes Harlow. Come on." I pulled away from the hug before nodding towards the door and heading out with her behind me. "I have to get my keys and things from my office real quick." I jogged to my office and got my stuff before locking it behind me.
"You can just stay in the car. I can get some more stuff on my own if you don't wish to come with me." She spoke softly as she walked beside me in the parking lot.
"I'll go with you." I smiled over at her as I unlocked the car with the keys.
When we pulled into her driveway and got out of the car, I wasn't expecting her to lead me around the house and away from the front door.
"Where are we going?" I raised a brow as I followed closely behind her.
"My father's sick joke." She mutter with shame. Embarrassment.
She led me to the backyard to see an oversized dog house. No door. No flooring from what I can see so far.
"I've been trying to save up for a heater and a window unit for ac and whatnot, but then I realized they won't make a difference if I don't have a door on the place." Harlow led me into the doghouse like shelter to see a small bed, a dresser, a fan hung loosely from the ceiling, a dim floor lamp was in the corner, and a big rug was laid out on the dirt, starting from the bed to the dresser. Claw marks were scattered around the walls. "The sorry excuse for a bathroom is in that four by four room. You can go look at it if you want."
I nodded and let my curiosity get to me. When I pushed the curtain aside, I saw an all tile stall like room with a garden hose at the top, and a small hanging sink on the wall.
"No hot water. Even during the winter. One time a bear decided to come say hi around three in the morning, but he could smell the wolf blood in me, so we shared a level of respect for each other. We shared a pack of peanut butter crackers before he left and let me go back to sleep." Harlow chuckled.
"You are never coming back here again, so whatever you want to take with you. Grab it. We'll fit it in my car. You are staying with me for now on." I spoke with authority.
"I can't ask you to do that Miss Lovato." Harlow turned to me as I pulled the curtain back.
"This isn't up for discussion Harlow. Get everything and bring it to the car." I gave her a look and she hesitantly nodded before shoving everything into a duffle bag. She took a framed picture of her a some wolves and a framed picture of her and her brother in their football uniforms side by side before putting them on top of everything.
"I don't want anything else. It's all just a reminder of what I've been living in for the past few years." Harlow shook her head. "Can we leave now? I hate it here." She whispered in a pained tone.
"Yeah, come on." I took the duffle bag from her before walking out of the sick joke with her right behind me.
I can't believe they'd do that to her. Her family is filthy rich, but they threw their only daughter into an oversized dog house as a sick joke.
"I'll find a way to convert my office into a bedroom. It's small, but it's all I have." I sighed as I thought about how sad it is. "You don't have to sleep in there if you don't want to. You can continue to sleep in my bed with me. I just want to give you your own space, because everyone deserves that."
"Thank you, really." Harlow gave me a genuine smile when we walked into the house.
"You're welcome." I smiled over at her.
"What would you be doing right now if I wasn't in your life? Am I a burden?" She gave me a serious, yet sad look.
Where did that come from?
"I'd be sitting on the couch lonely with no purpose of being here. Yeah, I'm a gym teacher, but that doesn't mean I'm doing any good. You give my life purpose Harlow. You are anything but a burden in my life." I hugged her once quickly before walking to my bedroom. "I need to take a shower right quick. Feel free to watch movies or whatever. I won't be long."
She nodded before putting her things down by the doorway, where I put my things down, and walking over to the couch. Enjoying the relaxing feeling of sitting down on a real couch again. To her, it's a luxury. She really and truly is humble, and I love it.

Bow of the North
In game of thrones i felt that the Starks received way too much hardships and tragedy. i know that there were vital points of story, and there were times these hardships were building points for their characters, but i feel when every member of a family has been either killed, raped or crippled then they deserve a break. In my story that break comes in the form of a powerful hunter/general from another world. I have no intention of altering the story to save every stark, or have them win every time, and some of my favourite characters may even be victims of this plot change as well. edited The main character, and there will be several new characters introduced to the storyline, will not just be some over powered guy who makes outrageous decisions that always work out (cough Plot armour) but will be someone that treats the world as a real world and has fears, doubts and is cautious in his decisions. He is susceptible to changing his mind and character traits depending on his experiences in this life. The story will primarily follow the plot at the beginning with some minor changes, and as more things change they will increase till the entire story is changed at the end. I am not copying the world of GoT exactly. cultures, politics and nobility may be changed or made up.
