“Sweetheart, wake up.”

“Mommy!!!”napabangon ako sa sigaw ng anak kong babae, I was expecting to see a white a room, and their worried faces pero nagulat ako nang nakita silang dalawa na tumatawa.

Nasa loob kami ng isang ambulansya.

“W-what happened? I got shot! Bakit wala akong maramdaman? .” Tumawa lang si Thaeus kaya ay bumangon ako at sinapak siya. Serenity laughed. Nakakandong na naman siya sa ama niya.

“Silly. You had a vest that was bullet proof. You haven’t seen a bullet proof vest before? That’s what I asked you to wear kanina.”

Napatampal ako sa aking noo. How stupid.

Nang nakarecover ay kinuha ko si Serenity sa kanya. “Baby, how are you? Does anything hurt? I am so sorry.” Niyakap ko siya at hinalikan sa ulo.

“I was scared po but I trusted you and daddy na you will come and save me.” She hugged me back at nakatitig lang sa amin si Thaeus.

“We’ll probably see a psychologist or psyhiatrist. To see if they aren’t traumatized by what happened.”

Tumango nalang ako. “What happened to Cassidy?”

“Kreios took care of it. Wag ka ng mag alala. She’ll go to jail for sure.”

“Kaya pala ang kalma mo kanina? Naisip ko pa naman na baka kasabwat ka ni Cassidy.” I joked and his eyebrows creased.

“Hell no!” tumawa nalang ako. “Baka nakalimutan mong may kasalanan ka pa? You were staring at Kreios! Do you like him?” Serenity was just staring at us. Mabuti at walang medics dito sa loob pero sigurado akong naririnig nila ang bangayan namin.

I laughed at him again. “Well, he is handsome.”

“Chavelle!” he pouted and all I could do is laugh.

I just hope everything is over.

Nang nakarating sa ospital ay agad na ginamot ang mga sugat at pasa ni Serenity. I wasn’t wearing the vest anymore. Mukhang tinanggal na ni Thaeus kanina.

We went home after. Agad na sinalubong ng mga lola si Serenity. They cried and hugged her. Forrest was crying too as he hugged his sister.

After nang kaunting salo salo, umuwi na sina Tita Mareth. I was shocked to see them hanging with Tita Decianna.

And here we are again, at the living room of his house, slow dancing to the melodic song.

“Ang dami ng nangyari. And het here are, dancing with each other.” He chuckled. Nakahilig ako sa kanyang dibdib habang nasa beywang ko ang kanyang mga braso. Ang aking kamay ay nakatapat lamang sa kanyang dibdib.

“Let’s visit your mom tomorrow?” tumango ako sa kanya. I was enjoying the feeling of being in his arms again.

“How about Cassidy?”I asked.

“Let’s not talk about her.” Naintindihan ko namang ayaw na niya talagang makipag usap tungkol dito.

“There’s something I want to tell you.” Tinignan ko siya sa mata.

“What is it?”

“I love you. Walang kahit, walang pero. I love you so much, Chavelle.” Why is he blurting this so suddenly? He’s making me cry!

“And I love you too, Thaeus.”

“Hindi mo alam kung gaano mo ako pinasaya……” he stopped for a moment. I was starting to tear up while swaying back and forth, still dancing. I was still staring at his pitch black eyes.

“And I know this isn’t the perfect place but for me it’s the perfect moment to ask this…….” May kinuha siya sa kanyang bulsa at napasinghap ako nang nakitang isa itong kahon. He slowly knelt on one knee and my tears are already unstoppable.

“Are you willing to change your surname and be my wife? Will you…..marry me, sweetheart?” patuloy akong humikbi habang tumatango. I couldn’t say the words!

“I want your answer sweetheart.” He was starting to tear up while smiling at me. The most handsome billionare I have ever met is kneeling in front of me….proposing.

“Yes, Thaeus. I-I will marry you.” Sa mga nanginginig na kamay ay isinuot niya ang singsing sa akin at tumayo. He kissed me with so much love and passion and I can’t help but smile while crying.

Finally.

Kinabukasan ay dinalaw namin ang puntod ni mama. Wala pang may alam sa nangyari kagabi ngunit inimbitahan na namin sina Tita Mareth sa mansion ng mga Valdero.

“Hi Mommy La!” bati nina Serenity at Forrest. We brought flowers and lit a candle.

“Hi Tita, we may have not met each other for a long time but you gave birth to someone that means everything to me, your daughter.” Napangiti nalang ako. Serenity and Forrest were listening to their daddy.

“If you only you were here to witness how amazing you’re daughter has become, for sure mapaproud po kayo.” Eto na naman at naiiyak na ako.

“Mommy, don’t cry!”pinunasan ni Forrest ang luha ko at nginitian ko lang siya.

“I’ll be marrying your daughter tita and I hope you approve.”tumawa pa siya at nakanganga nalang sa amin si Serenity at Forrest.

“Marry?!Wedding?!Yeheyyyy!” how did she know the meaning of that word?

Si Forrest naman ay nanlaki ang mata at pareho silang dalawa ng katapid niya na tumatalon talon sa tuwa.

Later that evening, we were gathered around the long table here in Valdero’s mansion.

“So, Tita Mareth, Tito Remus. You have been the second parents of Chavelle and…….”napatigil sa pag kain ang lahat dahil sa biglang pagsalita ni Thaeus.

“I gathered all of you here today to ask permission………I want to marry to Chavelle po.” Nakarinig pa ako ng pagkahulog ng kubyertos. Nakanganga silang lahat.

“Sana all!”and yep, it was Aziel’s voice who shouted. Napatawa kami ni Thaeus.

“Of course iho!” naluluhang sambit ni Tita Mareth, Thaeus went near them and gave them a hug.

“Wag mong sasaktan ah!” bilin ni Tito Remus.

“Omg! Nauna ka pa sakin! Congrats, Cha! Maid of honor ako!”nilapitan ako ni Marielle at niyakap, the kids were enjoying the food nang biglang tumikhim si Tita Decianna.

“So when are going to propose?” tanong niya.

“I already proposed ma.” Biglang napanganga si Tita Decianna.

“And you didn’t invite us?!” nanlulumo niyang sabi. Lahat sila ay umalma.

Aziel went near me. “Congrats.” He was about to give me a hug nang bigla siyang tinulak ni Thaeus sa noo.

“Mine.” He immediately grabbed my arms and pulled me away.

“Damot!”

Everyone was in a chaos.

“The reception should be held at the most expensive hotel okay?!”

“Media should be invited!”

“It should be the wedding of the year!”

“Saang Cathedral ba?!”

“Sana all ikakasal!”

“Mommy, why are they all shouting?”napatawa ako sa tanong ni Forrest.

Tita Decianna and Tita Mareth were already planning the wedding and I can’t help but feel….lucky.
