“Ibalik mo yan! Aristaeus ah, napipikon na ako!” eto kami at nagbabangayan tungkol sa sangkaterbang damit na binili niya.

“Dalawa! Pag to umabot ng tatlo, aalis ako dito at hindi na babalik!” he immdeiately ran to the side table and got his phone. He called someone and minutes later may mga bellboy na pumasok at kinuha ang mga damit.

“You should really stop spending your money on me, Thaeus. “ I folded my arms and faced him. He scratched his head and gave me a teethy smile.

Napailing nalang ako at napagdesisyonang umuwi na muna. He won’t let me but I threatened him again. You may say I’m toxic but I’m not.

Maghahanda pa ako para sa birthday niya bukas. He told me na nasa isang hotel iheheld ang birthday niya.

I just brought silver earrings for him. Napansin ko kasing may butas siya sa kaliwang tenga pero walang nakalagay dito pag magkasama kami.

Mama was so excited for the dress that I am going to wear, isa ito sa mga dress na binili niya para sa akin noong may trabaho pa siya.

Kinabukasan ay kinabahan na ako. Today is his birthday and the party will start at 5 pm kaya buong araw ay nanood lang kami ni mama ng TV. When it was already 4:30 I decided to get ready.

I am gonna be wearing a champange colored sheath dress. I wore light make up and fixed my hair. Ang sabi ni Thaeus ay may susundo daw sa akin.

He also said that he is gonna introduce me to his mother that’s why I am so nervous.

“Ang ganda ganda naman ng anak ko. “ mama had tears in her eyes. Nangangayat na naman siya ng todo. Hindi ko pa siya napa check up ulit.

“Mana sayo eh!”I said to lighten up the mood.

“Basta enjoy ka lang ah? Kung sana ay makakalakad ako, sasamahan sana kita.”

“Okay lang naman sa akin na naka wheelchair ka ma, sabi naman ni Thaeus na ayos lang.”

“Oo nga, pero ayoko namang ang maganda kong anak ang magtutulak sa akin kaya sige na. You enjoy okay?” bakit sobrang maiyakin si mama ngayon?

No, mabuti pa bukas ipapa check up ko siya ulit.

Tumango lang ako sa kanya at ngumiti.

It was 6 pm sharp nang nakarinig kami ng busina sa labas. I immediately said goodbye to mama and rushed outside.

The driver greeted me and we drove off.

Pagbaba ay pinagbuksan niya pa ako and I said my thank you’s.

They said that the party will be held at the top of the floor kaya yun ang pinindot ko sa elevator. I was awkwardly standing there, clutching my purse na laman ang gift ko kay Thaeus.

When I arrived the the right floor, napanganga ako sa dami ng tao. I saw a lot of actors and actresses. Media is everywhere.

Hindi ako dumaan sa carpet. I just walked to the side nang may bigla akong nabunggo.

“So-“

“You look so beautiful, sweetheart.” It’s him!

I looked up and I saw the most handsome man I have ever seen. His hair was in the same style like the first time I’ve met him. His eyes were piercing right through me and I can’t help but stare at him. He was wearing a tux and it hugged his body very well.

“H-happy birthday.” He chuckled when I stuttered.

“Thank you, baby. My night is already complete.” He held my my face and caressed it slowly.

“You are so handsome.” I blurted out and he looked proud.

“Of course I am, sweetheart. Let’s go, I’ll introduce you to mom. But…… whatever she says, don’t mind it okay?”

Hindi ko man naintindihan ang ibig niyang sabihin ngunit tumango nalang ako.

He pulles me through the crowd and we were nearing a group of older women chatting with each other. They each had a wine glass in their hands. They looked……..so rich.

“Ma.” The lady in her 50’s I think, stopped laughing and smiled to his son.

“Oh iho, where is Cassidy?” yumuko ako at hindi nagpakita. I felt a pain in my chest.

“I don’t know Ma. But I’m here to introduce someone important.” He pulled me closer and I lifted my head.

Shock was shown in his mother’s face.

“This is Chavelle Quintessa Araneza, my girlfriend.” She flinched when I reached out my hand to shake hers. Nag aalinlangan siyang inabot ito at mabilis ding binawi.

“Araneza? What is your company name, iha?” napalunok ako sa tanong niya, Thaeus was about to stop her but she didn’t listen.

“W-we don’t have a company po.” She looked disgusted.

“Oh? Then perhaps, what does your mom and dad do?” she bombarded me with questions.

“Ma, stop it.” But she had her eyes on me.

“My mom is not working po. And my dad….he….he left us. Ako po yung nagtatrabaho.”After what I said ay mas lalong kumunot ang noo niya.

Bumaling siya sa anak niya. “Excuse us for a second.” Hinila niya si Thaeus and I just nodded at him then faked a smile.

“Where is Cassidy? Bakit ganyang klaseng babae ang dala mo?” kahit nakalayo na ay yun ang narinig ko sa mama niya.

They left me hear…..dumbfounded. I felt my tears building up in my eyes.

I already told you, Chavelle. A successful billionare doesn’t deserve a mere waitress.

I slowly breath in and out trying to stop myself from crying while walking and looking for the bathroom.

Nang nakita ko na ito ay pumasok ako sa isang cubicle at doon umiyak. My chest hurts from all the crying and sobbing.

Bakit ba kasi importante ang estado ng buhay? Why? Can’t a poor be with the rich one? Can't the beautiful be with the ugly?

Can’t I be with him?
