"Name." He repeated once again without looking up to her and somehow, she got the memo.

He sighed a but loudly which cut her off her speech. He looked up to her. His cold green eyes telling a lot of stories. Ones she couldn't read. She realised she might have gone too far with her blabbing.
Stupid nerves.
"When I ask a question miss Smith, I need a simple, quick and short answer. What I don't need is a chipmunk."
Chipmunk? Me?
She quickly nodded continuously.
"Use your words." He ordered her and she nodded.
"Yes sir." She managed to speak up while pleading to her nerves to hang in there.

It's more of a slice of life view of early days of a normal Professional from the Infinite Labyrinth, and it's heavy on info-dump. It's 90% canon - there's probably a bit of a difference between how some characters and common behaviour are portrayed here and how they'll come out in the main story. Set two years before the events that kick-start the main series, it features some of the secondary/peripheral characters of the Infinite Labyrinth and will tell you all about the basic mechanics of the Labyrinth's RPG system. It can be considered a spoiler, as the characters in the Infinite Labyrinth are going to need to figure out all that, on their own. But if you like a much deeper exposition in the mechanics, here it is. The entire prequel is about 80 pages long.
