《The Spanish teacher (gxg)》Chapter 13

An hour went by without us talking. I sometimes catched her looking at me. It made me smile when she did that.
Here i was, reading a book with my teacher in complete silence, and i've never felt so comfortable and safe in my life. She made me feel safe and i never wanted this moment to be over.
"I guess detention is over." She calmly said without moving. Our arms were still touching. "That's too bad i actually really liked the book." She smiled. "I'm sure you'll get in trouble again. We can continue reading on your next detention."
"Hey, as my teacher, you're supposed to encourage me to do better." She rested her head on the palm of her hand and looked over at me. "Maybe i just really like your company."
I blushed. I was surprised that she actually liked my company. "Well since you like my company that much, can you maybe bring me home?"
She squinted her eyes. "Do i look like a taxi to you?" I laughed. "It's okay if you don't want to, it's just that Sam was supposed to bring me home but i got stuck with you for the past hour so now i have no ride home and it's like an hour walk. I thought i would just ask but sorry forget it, i'll walk it's fine."
I quickly grabbed my stuff and made my way to the door. Ms. Lopez was right behind me. She grabbed my wrist. "Don't be silly, i'll give you a ride."
"Really, you don't have to!" I said as we were making our way outside.
"Get in the car before i change my mind." Her demanding tone did something to me. I liked it when she was bossy.

I remember her car and sat down in the passenger seat. The seat was still all the way down the way i had adjusted it last weekend. I looked over at Ms. Lopez. "It's like you were waiting to pick me up again."
She laughed. "Now don't get too full of yourself young lady." I adjusted the seat back to normal. "I wouldn't dare, Ms Lopez." "I told you to call me Ava outside of class." She rolled her eyes at me. "Sorry, Ava."
"How old are you?" I asked her while we were driving to my apartment. I've always been curious about her age but never dared to ask. "Well well, you're not supposed to ask a lady that." She grinned. "You know my age so it's only fair i get to know yours too."
"How old do you think i am?" She asked. "26" I replied. I bit my lip, hoping with everything in me i didn't offend her. She laughed. "I wish i was, but unfortunately i'm 32."
My mouth dropped. "No way you're 32, you look way younger." "You're just saying that because you don't want to offend me." I shook my head. "No, no i actually thought you were younger. Not that 32 is old you just look so..." I gulped. "Young."
She smiled. "Well, i'll take that as a compliment." I was curious about her so i took this time to bombard her with questions.
"So what do you like to do in your spare time?" She looked at me sideways. "What's with all the questions?" I shrugged. "You let me call you Ava so i'm just trying to figure out who Ava is." I don't know where all this confidence to actually talk to her came from but i was feeling it.

"Well since you want to know, i like to read, i go out with friends on most weekends, just because i'm 32 doesn't mean i'm too old to go out. Besides that i dance, i like to cook and i like to watch tv. Nothing really special."
I smiled. I was now actually getting to know her and that made me incredibly happy.
"That sounds interesting. So there's more to you than just a teacher." I said. "Ofcourse, what did you think? That i grade papers all day?"
I grinned. "Well yes actually." She laughed. "What do you like to do in your free time?"
"I like to paint. It really calms me down. I also love to listen to music, binge watching whatever show i'm into that week and hanging out with friends."
"So there's more to you than just a student." I laughed at her comment. "No i just do homework all day."
"Oh hush, i have never seen you do homework."
I laid my head back and watched the trees outside as we passed them. She said she liked to dance and i couldn't stop thinking about it. I didn't dare to ask so i just painted my own picture of her dancing.
I could just imagine her and me slow dancing together. Our bodies so close to each other i could feel the warmth of her body radiate onto mine, my arms around her neck as the music slowly fades into the background. I shook my head. Never gonna happen Rachel, i thought to myself.
I looked over to her. As always i was in awe of her beauty. I couldn't help but stare at her. I was falling for her, hard. I couldn't believe i was actually falling for my teacher. But that's the thing, she didn't feel like my teacher at all. Even though i got nervous around her she was so easy to talk to.
I sighed. There was no way i could ever be with her. Not to mention that she's 32 and i'm sure she would never fall for her 18 year old student.
She noticed i was staring at her. "Why are you staring me?" She asked. She sounded nervous. I smiled. "Nothing, just looking at you."
We pulled up to my apartment. I didn't want to leave her. I felt so safe and comfortable around her and i didn't want to let go of that feeling yet. Instead of getting out i just sat there for a minute.
I expected her to say something, to tell me to get out, but she didn't. We both just sat there together. 5 minutes had past. It was time for me to go inside.
I opened the car door. "Bye Ava." I smiled at her. She gave me a warm smile back. "Bye Rachel."
For some reason the moment felt very intimate. I was wondering if she had felt the same.

Falling for a Star (Complete)
I had never paid much attention to celebrity gossip or what was going on in Hollywood because that was so far from the lifestyle I lived as a poor college student, working as a barista to save up for my own house after graduation. But then, without my knowledge, my Dad submitted my name into a talk show sweepstakes to win a week with Hollywood superstar Dylan Chase, to see what it's like to live like a celebrity for a week. My Dad thought it would be the perfect chance for me to get out of Iowa, see the world and have an adventure for once. I was dreading leaving home, flying for the first time and going by myself all the way to L.A. Plus the idea of spending a week with an arrogant, rich, snobby actor that was probably the worst kind of womanizer didn't sound like my idea of fun. What I found when I got there and met Dylan was the total opposite; a man that was humble, hard working, easy to talk to, and down to earth. Spending a week in Paradise in the guest house of Dylan Chase's Malibu mansion right on the beach, attending a movie premiere on his arm, shopping on Rodeo Drive and eating at five star restaurants was like a dream come true, but sleeping in his bed and falling for a guy from a completely different world than me was never part of the plan because we could never end up together.
