《Married to the Heartless Billionaire》49: A Great Husband

"Are you sure you have everything?", Alison asked for the 50th time as annoyed Leah hugged her mom to calm her frantic ways. She was being a mom, worried about her kid and I respected her for it, but everyone deserves a break, especially her.
"Mom, I'm fine", Leah told her for the 50th time as she sat on the couch already examining the games we had stacked up.
"Come on Ali, otherwise we will miss our flight", Clay tried to pull her out of the room as she runs up to Leah for the last time and said bye.
"Promise me you'll take good care of her, okay?", She asked Nolan and me as we shook our head and Nolan politely pushed his mom out for the sake of everyone in the room.
"Thank goodness, mommy left", Leah exhaustedly looked at the door and plopped onto the couch, she grabbed for the remote.
"No TV now we heard you have homework, go do it, and we can watch tv later", I told her as she rolled her eyes at my persistent attitude. She groaned as she pulled herself off the couch and grabbed her school bag as she went to the kitchen table.
"You're good at this", Nolan whispered from behind as he wrapped his arms around my hips. He kissed my cheek.
"You better good at this, too", I told him as he looked surprised and smiled at me with his pearly whites.
"We would make beautiful babies", he told me as I nodded, he kissed the inner-line of my neck. He trailed down my neck near my collar bone, as I inhaled his manly scent.
"What happened to let's wait?", I asked him as I ruffled his hair down with my fingers, and he stared at me with his daring and charming eyes.
"I just can't stop imagining you pregnant, you would look beautiful, and knowing it's a little me inside there, makes me happy", he smiled as he shared his sweet thought with me, it was sweet what he thought and it had always been my dream to be a mother.
"You would make a great father", I told him knowing how much he needed to hear it. He had changed for the better, and he had changed me opening me up.
"I hope so, but I also want to be a good husband", he told me as his hands raked through my hair and my hands rested on his hips. He kissed me softly, leaving me wanting more.
"You are a great husband", I told him as he kissed me again and his hands this time went to my body, his hands when to my hips as I kissed his lips.
"We should just go upstairs and I'll show you just how good I am", he smirked as he held my hands softly and I laughed at his attempt to seduce me. He took my hand in his and attempted tugging me up the stairs.

"Come on", he begged me as I laughed at his attempt, he went back down the stairs and he was ready to pick me up.
"I would love to say yes", he seemed joyous until he heard my response, he wanted a yes as I shook my head.
"Why not", he got down on his knees as he began praying and begging me as I pulled him up.
"Your sister is right over there", I pointed as he turned around and saw his sister lying along the couch flipping through a workbook.
"And you mister are banned from sex", I told him as I placed my hands against his shoulders and he looked yet again disappointed.
"But good try, you really had me there", I whispered into his ear as he smiled and whispered yes to himself as I walked to the couch to sit with Leah.
Nolan got up from his kneeling position and followed me like a lost puppy, he sat next to me as he immediately began cuddling up against me.
"Mommy and daddy do that all the time", Leah said without looking up at us, she just smiled and went back to her work, Nolan wiped his eyes, trying to get the image out of his head of his parents.
He let go of me and scooted over as I laughed at his traumatized state. He left to the kitchen and served us lunch as he sat next to me, this time his hands didn't trail my body.
"I'll clean up you get dressed for work", I told him as he kissed my lips and I brought the empty plates to the sink and began washing them. I let Leah watch tv as she took a small break from her homework, which seemed to never end.
Nolan came down in his tight-fitting black suit, and he looked great, his hair was combed back with gel in place. I kissed his cheek as he grabbed his work equipment and gave a hug to Leah who had now gone back to her homework.
"I need help", everything was going great except an hour into this homework ordeal, Leah started groaning how her homework was hard, I thought 7-year-olds did coloring books for homework.
"What can I help you with?", I nudged over to the kitchen table bringing my overheated laptop with me. Leah opened the book, that to my surprise had no coloring of any sort, it was math, not one of my strongest subjects.
"I thought you did coloring books for homework", I told her as I flipped through the book filled with math problems that suited a 6th grader.
"I'm in a special school we learn ahead, Natalie", she complained to me as she played with her color-coded pens and rearranged them into a rainbow.
I finally had helped her with her math homework as my phone began buzzing, I flipped over the phone and saw it was Avery.
"Natalie party at your place?", she said as soon as I answered the phone.

"Did you forget we're babysitting your little sister?", I asked her, hoping she didn't suggest to have the party with Leah there.
"Down girl, it's not one of those parties it's just a gathering of people, listen I just want a not-really awkward place for Tyler and I to talk, it would just be us, Alec, Tally, and Wes, and you can invite anyone else you want, please?", she asked me explaining it all, as it sounded like a good idea.
"Let me check with Nolan, and we can do it tomorrow", I told her as she tried to persuade me to do it today, but I could tell Leah was tired, and after this day I knew I would be.
"I'm bored", Leah stretched on the ground as she fell back onto the carpet, she started squiggling around on the soft rug.
"I was thinking why don't we go grab some lunch and then we can grab ice cream, we can even take a cone over to Nolan's.", I told her as she jumped for joy and ran to grab her sandals that fit snug between her little toes. I, on the other hand, grabbed a bag and a pair of sneakers.
She stood next to me as we went down the elevator to the garage. We crossed the garage as the security guards followed and whispered into their monitor. When I lived alone, I always felt unseen, which was a good thing, now all I feel is seen, I don't mind it, but it's scary to know someone's watching you.
I started driving towards the park as Leah adjusted her seat belt. I tuned the radio to a generic channel as Leah sang along, I parked the car as I saw the other black SUV's park right beside me.
We stopped by at a local cafe and ate pastries galore, they were shaped like beautiful flowers and shapes. We walked back to the park and Leah finally saw the Ice Cream truck after talking about it for hours.
Leah ran to the ice cream parlor that stood on the side of the walkway across from the park. I followed her, trying to keep up with her fast feet.
"Can I get this?", she pointed at a Spongebob popsicle and my mind flashed as I remembered my mother buying one for me, she would always remind me whenever it dripped, she was cautious and I loved it.
"Yes, but first why don't you pick one out for Nolan", I asked her as she screened the menu that was propped against the van. She found the perfect one and I repeated the order to the ice cream man, he handed us our ice creams, and as soon as Leah saw it she jumped for joy.
We got back into the car as I handed her napkins to keep the dripping yellow saved and not on Nolan's precious car. I drove to Nolan's work and as soon as I saw the towering building I turned into the parking garage and parked. We went up the stairs as the ice creams had somewhat melted, but they still had an opportunity to be eaten.
I made my way to the top floor, hoping to see Caroline and of course Nolan. Leah held my hand tighter as strangers came into the elevator and glanced over at the fragile being next to me. The elevator finally pinged as I saw Caroline and her face immediately went to a smile.
"It's been so long", she hugged me tightly. I had missed her a lot and well I hadn't been back to the office in a while that it became a rare occasion of me seeing her.
"It has, I'm sorry I haven't been in the office for a while", I apologized knowing how many endless texts she had sent me talking about her colleagues who couldn't seem to do much right.
"And who's this?", Caroline smiled at the little girl hugging my leg, Leah shook her hand as she greeted her softly.
"This is Leah, Nolan's sister", I introduced them and she crept off my leg feeling more comfortable than before.
"We came to see Nolan, is he busy?", I asked as her face slowly melted and I saw the look of worry on her face.
"He's in there with someone", she said discreetly as she instructed we could wait. I put the ice cream cones in the fridge as Leah and I waited to visit Nolan. An hour went by and I began to wonder, what was truly happening in this discreet business meeting.
Leah went to sleep on my lap as I waited for another 30 minutes to pass, the clock dawned 3 pm, as I waited for more time to pass.
"We're having a little get together tomorrow, you should come.", I told Caroline as she said she would think about and she told me about her struggles of dating here in the city.
2 hours had passed and Leah still slept peacefully on my lap, but I was getting impatient. I knew how long business meetings took, but this was a one-on-one not even formal.
I heard a laugh I knew I would remember and there she walked in front of me in her black silicone dress that hugged her body had been hiked up, her matte red lipstick had been smeared to the side. She smirked at me as she walked by with confidence.
Nolan walked behind her pissed and as soon as he saw me he looked hurt and disappointed in himself. I closed my eyes hoping it was a dream and I opened my eyes to seeing Nolan peer over me saying "Can we talk?".
"Let's do this again", she said as she closed the elevator, but no one paid attention as Nolan and I starred at each other. He had broken me.

The Stormcrow Cycle
Once a powerful and lauded witch, Ba'an salu-Ba'an now lives alone in a cave in the desert, waiting to die. When she rescues an outlander from certain death she becomes embroiled in a deadly game of politics and empire, of heart and soul, but worst of all--of hope and love and a chance at a peaceful future. Can a disgraced witch find a reason to live her life again--and if so, what price must she pay? The Stormcrow Cycle is a trilogy comprising of The Exile, The Lion, and Abomination. Tags or genres for each book: The Exile: romance, slice-of-life The Lion: romance, slice-of-life, politics Abomination: tragedy, high/epic fantasy (aka "Everything is on fire!") Updates once a week whenever I have time. Cross-posted on Wattpad and Scribble Hub. The CBMokedi cover will return! Excerpt: She looked down at him again. Young. Healthy, from what she could see, except for the wound that was killing him. He was handsome in a way that suggested a life of wealth and plenty. She did not think he had ever starved. Someone important. Her shadow fell across him, and he frowned. Blearily, he opened his eyes. They were amber and bright, even as he lay dying in the dirt. She could feel his soul, blazing inside of him like a fire refusing to die even as his body began to fail. He met her gaze, eyes widening in what she guessed was surprise—or shock. But he never looked away, staring up at her as though transfixed. Ba’an made her decision. She raised her hand and covered his eyes. In another moment, a murder of crows cawed as they took wing. The man and woman were gone from the road, leaving only the dead staring up into the sky. Note: This is a high-fantasy set in a low-magic world. The first book is largely character-driven and we really only hit the real plot in Book II, so if you're not fond of long epic yarns you ought to skip this one. I also don't include trigger warnings, but mind the "traumatizing content" tag--all societies minus one practice slavery and the world is indeed, rather grim!
