That night had been restful, I could finally sleep knowing he was safe as he held me delicately. The clock struck 7 am, as the sun began climbing up the nearest mountain. My eyes opened as I felt his arms unravel from mine, he tiptoed against the cold granite tile. I reckoned he was just going for a bathroom break like every person would do, but boy was I mistaken.

The sun's rays woke me up as I turned to face my husband, but to my surprise, he wasn't there. I got up in a spring thinking he had hurt himself. I searched everywhere the garage, the bathroom even upstairs in my little bunny slippers.

And there he was working and running on a treadmill, 2 things he was asked not to do, by me and all of his skilled doctors.

"Sneaky", I told him as I crossed my arms and leaned against the open door. He turned around and gave me the most apologetic smile I had seen. He slowed down the treadmill and closed his laptop.

"Good morning baby", he walked fine not limping a bit it was as if he had healed overnight. He kissed my cheek and grabbed a towel as he patted his sweaty back and ripped chest that I happened to be looking at.

"Can't you get a couple of weeks off of work?", I asked him as he threw the towel in the laundry shoot and walked closer to me as he began laughing.

"Darling I own the company, I could take time off if I wanted too, but I'm fine to work, trust me, at least I'm not going to the office because now I can spend more time with you", he rambled on about his reasons of why I should be happy and god knows what else. I knew he wasn't going to follow all of his doctor's orders, but wouldn't you think he would follow the one that said don't work.

"Okay I understand, just promise me no working out you heard what the doctor said", This man loved breaking the rules, even more, he loved irritating me. His hands began searching my back as he wrapped his sweaty arms around me. He moved my hair swiftly and kissed my cheek.

"Alright Doc", he screamed from the other room as I followed him and he smiled brightly at me as he cracked eggs into a pan. I grabbed a glass of water from the sink as he pulled me close to him and kissed my neck leaving love bites all over.

"Do you greet all of your doctors this way?", I asked him as his head was lost in my hair as he held me against his hip.

"Only the one I love", he kissed my forehead as he pulled me to him as he scrambled the eggs up. He picked me up and set me on the counter as I watched him focus on the food. He held my hand as he plated our eggs and grabbed the sausages.

"Hey don't be lifting me I'm a weight", I scolded him as I got comfy on my new seat as I peered at his wound against his sculpted chest.

"Sorry", he kissed my nose and went on smiling, and so did I. I was blessed to be with a man who loved me and I was happy, who would've thought.

He served me a plate as I hopped off the counter and made my way to the kitchen table, I grabbed juice, milk, and water as he brought the plates.

"You ready to start writing or taking that class, you wanted too?", he asked me as I nodded while drinking my orange juice. It had been years since I had focused on what I wanted, what I needed to make me happy.

"I'm so ready, I signed up for a journalist class at an online college and I talked to the professor, I'm still young and he said this is the perfect time to start", Nolan smiled brightly as he was genuinely happy for my successes, I hadn't seen that in a while, but with him it's every day.

"I'm really glad you're chasing after what you want", he told me as he took my plate back and took his to the kitchen. This man was all about dreams, hell he was my dream. I took the glasses as he began washing everything up.

"Uh-Uh let me wash the dishes, you go make us a living sailor boy", he laughed at my reference and grabbed his laptop. He took off to the terrace, to get some fresh air. I grabbed my laptop and checked the times of my new class that started today. It wasn't for another couple of hours or so and so I figured I'd chase the other thing I needed, what I wanted.

My sister, I wanted her in my arms, she would be 12 now, such a bright age, yet every time I see the last picture of her she reminds me of mom, the porcelain skin, rosy cheeks, and bushy eyebrows.

I typed into the search engine 'how to track down a kid in the foster system', it came up with all these options for parents who wanted to come in contact with their children.

I clicked on the first link hoping it would lead me somewhere helpful. I scooped through it as I looked for ways to contact the social care workers, though the process was extremely long.

"Babe, I forgot to tell you that Avery's coming over, she's not doing good staying home alone, and I think Leah may come over too, or we may just be babysitting, I have a call when they're coming over, but if your class is at that time then I can cancel my meeting", he strolled into the foyer in front of me as I quickly closed the laptop.

"My class isn't till later so I should be good, I'll take the girls out", I told him as he kissed my lips and strode into the bathroom. I put my laptop off of the bed and followed him into the bathroom.

I leaned against the bathroom window as he washed his face. He wiped his face as he noticed me lingering.

"Come over here", he leaned up against the bathroom sink as I studded over, he held my hips. He kissed my lips softly as my hands went to a growing mustache.

"Spiky, I like it", I rubbed my hands against his spiky chin as he tucked my wisps of hairs behind my ear.

"I was just about to shave it off", he said as I begged him to keep it, it made him look more serious than his already boring gaze was when we worked, I wonder deeply how his employees feel.

"Oh shoot, I should probably get ready", I glanced at the time and realized how time flys by. I pecked his chin as I dashed to the closet. I grabbed a pair of blue jeans and a white shirt, simple but classy. I put on some red lipstick and I was set.

"Babe, they're here", I heard a loud voice from downstairs as I made my way down I realized why Nolan had screamed so loudly. His mom was here, now don't get me wrong I love Alison, but I could tell she was bothering Nolan. She pushed him onto the couch and took away his laptop and even ran the kitchen as I saw her giving him soup, it was what moms do, I guess.

"I have exciting news, the renewing of our vows is rescheduled, for Thursday, I know it's 2 days away but I figured it would be the best time", My mom squealed as I remembered the present we had meaning I would get to spend a whole week with my baby sister, who nice.

"Here's Natalie, I bet she will love to fill you in on my diet and rules", Nolan referred to me as I walked down the stairs, Alison turned to me and smiled widely.

He snuck upstairs as I rambled on and on about the dietary and physical restrictions. Avery and Leah pouted as they heard things they didn't want to hear.

I slowly snuck upstairs as I heard the regret in Natalie's voice, little did my mom know, I didn't follow them so I didn't know them.

I grabbed the file of papers that sat on the dresser as I began signing away, cutting out the chatter in the background.

After around an hour, the chatter stopped and now I'm guessing my mom had finally left, I swear that woman has caffeine running through her blood.

"Mom left", I asked against the lead balcony that was above downstairs.

"Yes she did", Leah shouted as she came running up the stairs to give me a hug. She kissed both of my cheeks as she smiled wholeheartedly at me.

"How is my favorite fairy princess?", I asked her as she held my hand and twirled.

"Peachy, we're going somewhere, can you please come?", she asked me using her watery puppy eyes. She knew the puppy eyes were always a winner if I didn't want to go, but this time it was work.

"I have a meeting in a little bit, but I may join you", I told her as her face went to sad, then overjoyed. She kissed my cheek as she pranced downstairs in her yellow sundress.

"Bye babe we're leaving", Natalie yelled from the foyer as I went back in to attend my meetings and to get some work done.

After the clock struck 2, I was done with everything, as the other branches took care of everything else. My doctor had reached out to my employees and sworn that I take time off.

My phone dinged as I saw the attachment of Cole's burial, I was glad that bastard was dead. After he had shot me, my team put enraging fire against him, he was dead in seconds. The accident flashed behind my eyes. After the casualty, Along with the other guy, who had a sniper gun locked and loaded aimed at my family, he also got caught trying to escape.

"We're home", a pleasant group of smiles and laughs embraced me in the office, as I shut away my laptop. Bags hung from Avery's arm as I knew she had gone splurging, Natalie had one single bag and Leah just carried her small backpack.

"Someone went splurging", I commented as Natalie gave me the dirtiest look. I remembered my most important and top reminded character trait was sympathy, how helpful.

"Well when you brother almost dies cause your ex-boyfriend shoots him, I can spl-splurge all I want", her bags fell to the ground as she stumbled to the couch and I looked back at Natalie as Avery came closer to me and I smelt the alcohol that lingered from her breath. Avery took a seat next to me as I got up and went to go talk to the now disappeared Leah and Natalie.

"Is she drunk?", I asked as I made my way into the kitchen as Natalie broke up pieces of string cheese, each string of cheese, laid nicely on the plate, Leah watched like it was something life-changing.

"Leah, sweetie why don't you

go freshen up in the bathroom", Natalie asked Leah as she left leaving us alone. It was a situation Leah couldn't know about.

"I couldn't stop her, Leah wanted a stuffed animal I went to check it out with her the next thing I know I'm getting paged to the front desk", she explained, and it made sense in the clearest way. Avery had lost someone she thought she loved and almost lost someone by that person, her whole world was shifting and shattering at the same time.

"We can't let her go home", I told her as she smiled at the arriving wonder who came from the hall.

"I already set up a bedroom, well the bedroom that I slept in", she said as I thanked her for being one step ahead.

"Thank you baby", I kissed her forehead as I heard a gag from Leah as I looked at her she ran off. Natalie just was laughing as I kissed her again knowing this rare moment of alone time was needed.

"Why don't I make dinner and you go relax and get ready for your class", I suggested as I saw how exhausted she was and knew she had been excited for this class all day.

"You're not supposed to be on your feet, remember what the doctor told you", she

stressed.

"Thank you", she kissed my cheek as she grabbed the string cheese plate and took it to Leah, who sat on the couch watching cartoons.

In the middle of my cooking extravaganza, Natalie had already started her class so I figured I should see what they were doing. I went out of the kitchen into the heavenly living room and found Avery passed out on the shimmery couch. Leah sat next to her watching her shows just like it was another day.

"Leah do you want to help me in the kitchen", I asked her as she jumped with glee and switched the tv off and joined me in the kitchen.

"Don't forget to wash your hands", I reminded her as she got her step stool and propped it against the kitchen sink. She washed her hands through roughly.

"All ready", she said as I instructed her to knead the dough and showed her how to as I mixed the salad.

"Nollie, can I ask you a question?", she quietly spoke as she pressed her hands into the sticky dough.

"Yeah, anything", I told her hoping it wasn't something like how are babies made, kids ask the weirdest things.

"How did you know you loved Natalie?", she asked as I glimmered along with the topic and I honestly didn't know.

"Well when I realized I couldn't live without her, that's when I knew, she makes me really happy and well I just knew.", I explained to her as I wondered why she was asking about that.

"Oh okay, well when I asked her she said she just felt this feeling she couldn't explain", I smiled at Natalie's answer.

"When are you going to have a baby", she abruptly brought up the question as I looked at her seriously.

"Later in life, a baby is a lot to care for and our careers are just launching off", I told her as she seemed to be confused by my answer.

"Mom said when your in love you have a baby", she said as I had no clue where this conversation was going too, and finally out of the corner of my eye, I saw Natalie.

"I'm done with my class", she waltzed into the kitchen and by the bright smile she carried on her face I could tell she was nothing but excited by how her class was going.

"How'd it go?", I asked her as she washed her hands.

"It was great the professor is amazing and he introduced us to so many different things I know writing is the way I want to go, but there's just so many jobs an author isn't the only one.", she sounded amused, astonished and I was the absolute same. I was proud of her she had chased after something that she loved.

The phone started buzzing from somewhere as I began working on the sauce I looked at Natalie knowing it was my mom. She went to answer it as I stirred, soon enough Leah pulled me towards her.

"We are done", I told her as I rubbed some extra flour on the top of her sculpted nose, as she took more and smeared it over my shirt.

I watched him spend time with Leah like she was his own. He cared for her, I just wondered and wanted maybe someone of our own.

They ended up cleaning the mess as I remembered Alison's anxious words, she was having her vows renewed in 2 days, while her family was falling apart.

"The pizzas are in the oven", Nolan came to the barstools as he kissed my cheek. I held onto him as he smiled at me.

"Sissy", an annoyed voice came from the other room, Nolan and I ran into the room to find Leah shaking Avery wanting her to wake up.

"Wake up", she shook her more as I knew we should've moved her.

"You take Leah and I'll take Avery", he whispered into my ear like they were bad guys and we were eliminating them.

"Leah, we have to put your sister to sleep, she's not feeling well so why don't we go make her some juice for when she wakes up.", I told Leah as she looked sad from the look of her face. Nolan thanked me as I heard him carry Avery to the room.

Everyone was asleep except for me, it was around 2 in the morning and I had just put Leah down. Nolan had fallen asleep as I began to change from the sweaty clothes I was in.

"You are so beautiful", a groggy voice said as I looked around at his peering eyes, but all the lights were off.

"You can't even see me", I laughed at his compliment and finished changing into my silk shorts and shirt.

"You're just beautiful, come here", he ushered over to me as I blushed and gladly he couldn't see it, I cozied up next to him. His muscular hands wrapped around my body squeezing me like a stuffed animal.

"I read something somewhere, since we're doing this celibacy thing it might be good for us to sleep without our clothes on, you know bond", he kissed my cheek as I just began laughing he really had the strangest mind.

"Nice try, I haven't had sex all my life and you haven't had sex since you started liking me, I promise you the wait will be worth it", I explained to him as he groaned in my neck kissing my neck lustfully.

"Down, boy", I told him as his hands began lingering on my now bare stomach, silly me wearing such a flimsy shirt.

"You should let me explore", he nudged me as he got on top of me as he looked into my starry eyes.

"I'll let you explore when you have the go-ahead", I said as I kissed his raised forehead and he got under me again.

"You excited for the party?", I asked him as I played with his single band placed on his finger as I slid it up and down.

"Yes, I'd love to see you in a dress", he kissed my cheek as he rubbed my fingers against his hands held onto his as he kissed me, again and again, trailing along my face.

"Well I'd love to see you in a suit, businessmen turn me on", I said as he laughed at my remark.

"Oh really, should I go grab my tie?", he joked as I looked at his eager eyes and kissed him softly, feeling along his masculine chest.

"Yes sir", I said submissively as I joked but when he actually jumped out of bed and ran for the closet, I guessed he hadn't picked that up yet.

"Here we go", he flicked on the light as a black-tie sat against his chest and his black shorts sit comfortably, he did spin as he came back into the bed, and turned the lamp on.

"You look like a male stripper", I told him as he laughed along with me.

"Wait how do you know what a male stripper looks like?", he asked me as I switched off the lights and he repeated his question yet again I kissed his cheek and cuddled up against his warm chest.

"Goodnight", I told him as I could tell I had stooped him. He cuddled up against me, leaving me light kisses against my cheek.
