《Married to the Heartless Billionaire》18: Put Me Down, Nollie

"NATALIE", a warm presence gave me a tight hug, as I got a sympathetic look from Nolan.
"Mom, don't suffocate my wife", I beamed at the words that came out of his mouth. He had called me his wife, instead of "that girl" or just my name.
"I can tell you two are getting along well", she exclaimed, as I blushed and glanced at Nolan who was looking right back at me.
"It is", he said as my stomach churned with butterflies, and sprinkles. I was definitely on Cloud 9 and I wasn't ever coming down.
His hands slipped to my hands as he squeezed my hand once. His mom invited us in as I looked around and saw familiar faces from the wedding. Until I felt a little figure hugging my legs.
"Your here", a loud, but sweet voice squealed as I looked down at my feet to see the little girl from the wedding Leah.
She looked up at me as she kept hugging my tight legs.
"We can play with my action figures and go to the park and so much more", Leah squealed as I heard Mrs. Clemente chuckle at Leah's loving attitude. I bent down to her height as I pulled her in for a hug, as she hugged me so tight, I was scared my arms were going to fall off.
"I would love too", I responded as her smile filled with glee and she dragged me to her room as Nolan picked her up and gave her monkey hug.
"Nollie put me down", she yelled as I laughed at the little pet name she had given Nolan. He flew her around the room as I saw Avery make her way over to me.
"Hey", she said giving me a hug as I gave her one back. She looked at me in relief i could tell of how Nolan and I were acting and I could tell she was happy about it and would surely ask me what had changed. She pulled me to the side as I got ready for her steady interrogation.
"Okay tell me everything", she persuaded me to tell her all about the butterflies i've been feeling lately and the feeling of having someone to just talk to and be with. I wanted to tell her every feeling I've felt, but I had never done this before. Girl Talk wasn't a second nature to me, well except with my mom.
"We've been talking and he's just taking really good care of me", I said calmly as I wanted to tell her about him protecting me and caring for me. But something stopped me and in the corner of my eye, I saw Lucifer and his She-Devil.
Melissa the She-Devil made eyes at me, pretending I didn't see it. Nolan just had to go talk to them, huh.
"Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence it's a pleasure to see you", Nolan shook their hands as greetings were exchanged. Avery stepped away as a friend called her over and Nolan notioned for me to come over.

"Hi, honey", my father said as he gave me a side hug and I was ordered to act like I missed him and loved him.
"Hi, dad", I said feeling uncomfortable, I meant to turn it off, myself and my soul to leave but could I really not let his harsh beatings then thoughtful words get to me. It was strictly impossible.
"I hope she's keeping you satisfied", he winked at Nolan as I felt the need to simply step back. Satisfied? This man was crazy, I felt so uncomfortable, that I almost left with no words. But, as the words left his mouth Nolan looked at me in shock and surprise, no ones father would ever ask that.
"Oh uh, were simply just getting to know each other before any of that sorts", he said as I blushed. He wanted that from me, did he? I was so confused, I had lost my mind and I needed it back.
"Excuse me, I'm gonna get some air", I said as I abruptly left the venue and searched for a sunny spot. The porch seemed perfect as I took a seat and thought about how I ended up here. The door closed as it was swung open.
"Nolan, I just need some space", I spoke, not looking at him, I needed some time to think and to try to honor my mom.
"It's not Nolan, it's just me checking upon you", a feminine, sweet voice spoke as I turned my head slowly to see Mrs. Clemente. She came to sit next to me as the door shut, and I heard her scoot closer to me.
"Tell me what's wrong, sweetie", her hand found my back as I felt like my mother was here for me. Mrs.Clemente reminded me so much of my mom, that it shocked me every moment.
"Mrs. Clemente I'm really fine, I'm sorry to bother you, please return back to the brunch", I said brushing my head to the side as I needed someone to talk to, but could it be the women who reminded me so much of my mother.
"Please it's Allison, and your not bothering me at all, I'd rather talk to you rather than my husband's side of the family, they can be crazy sometimes", she said making me laugh.
"My mom, she died a couple years back tomorrow", I said letting the words flow out of my mind. I had always told myself that if I hadn't said those words it wouldn't be true, in school I told myself she was traveling across the world and in Hawaii and the Bahamas. I always imagined her happy, that's the first time I had said it aloud. I felt like a huge burden over came me, I had accepted that my mother was never coming back.
"Oh i'm so sorry sweetie, I didn't know I thought Melissa was your mother", she said hearing the she-devil's name made my blood boil. All the pain she put me through she didn't deserve any of the luxuries she could afford.

"Melissa, married my father a month after my mother died", I opened up to Allison, feeling like I needed someone to talk too. She seemed like she understood and she definitely was trustworthy. She had the same manner and elegance as my mother. I just wish she were here to meet her.
"I'm sorry, that must have not been easy for you to adjust so fast, you need time to grieve and adapt", she said giving me real advice that would've helped me so much during that time of grieving.
"Your mother must've been so beautiful, Melissa can't compare", a smile formed on my face as she reminded me that my looks looked somewhat like my mother's we had the same wondrous eye color and the same silky hair. She was with me all the time, through me.
"Thank you Mrs. Cl... Allison", she laughed a bit and took my hand to go inside. I could face them and see their smirk.
"Now come on, we have food to eat", she said motioning for me to come inside. She opened the door as it closed behind me, leaving a gust of wind flowing behind me.
"Hey, you okay", Nolan brushed against my hand lightly as he grasped me for a little and Allison had left without me. He held on waiting for my response as I knew, lying was my best bet. I was fine. A phrase that nobody really knew the meaning of, not even me.
"Yeah, I'm just fine", I responded as he smiled about, it relieved him that I was alright or so it looked. He looked surprised that I was okay, maybe he's more sensitive than me. Sensitivity made me hurt, and I hated that feeling.
"Food's Ready", a loud voice called as everyone crowded to the table. Nolan went behind me as I made my way to the dining table, it was quite beautiful. The banisters were decorated with white bells, and the fireplace was well lit, and the centerpiece of the room was a beautiful white piano. The food was plastered nicely, and looked simply too pretty to eat.
Everyone sat down at their seats as Leah called me over to sit next to her, and I possibly couldn't say no to such a cute face. Nolan slid into the seat next to me as he looked at me sincerely hoping that I was having fun.
At the table, Leah told me all about her dolls and her puppy. She asked me questions about Nolan and I and what I liked. After eating, Nolan excused himself dragging me with him.
"Where are we going?", I tried to catch up with him as he hurriedly walked across the grounds. These heels, couldn't last any longer. I tried running up to catch up to him as I fell on a branch, and my foot slipped from underneath me. Nolan heard the snap of the twig and turned around, he rushed over to me as I sat on the grass.
"I'm so sorry, are you okay", he asked me as I could tell he was worried about me, which made me feel cared about. He looked as if he was examining my foot, in every angle and possible way he could.
"My heel broke", I showed him the pieces of my sliced heel as he looked relieved knowing that I wasn't hurt.
"Did you get hurt", I shook my head, knowing it would hurt him if it did. It stung like a bitch, I grabbed his shoulder as I pulled myself up and started limping as he looked at me in awe.
"So where's this place we're going", I limped as he ran up to catch up to me, as I felt his hands wrap around my waist and next thing I know I was in the air.
"Yeah, your not walking", he had grabbed me and flipped me as I was limping. His hands rested on my legs as he held on tight, not letting me go.
"Put me down, I can walk just fine", I demanded as he wouldn't put me down. I flailed in his arms as he tried to calm me down, but I knew he couldn't just stop laughing at this comedic scene for him.
He stopped walking for a minute as I bent my back in some weird and hurtful way, to see a little tree house, painted a shade of light grey.
"Welcome to my cave", he said as he still held on to my legs leaving me to grab onto his back. I turned and looked at the ground as he continued walking and he looked as if he was floating.
"PUT ME DOWN THIS INSTANT", I demanded as I heard him chuckle at my insistency. We got closer to the sky as I got hotter and hotter.
"I'm really not feeling good Nolan", I said as he rushed up to the treehouse. I felt sick, I was unfortunately scared of heights. As a kid, I would go on planes and hills, but that was when my mom was yanking my hair on the damn thing. We finally reached the playhouse, as he just stood there scanning the area.
"Put me down Nollie", I demanded, as he plopped me down on the soft bed, overlooking the windows, this treehouse was very clean and elegant, someone could live in here.
"Did you just call me Nollie?" he asked, looking quite serious. He looked like he was about to be upset or happy, I couldn't ever read this man, impossible.
"Maybe", I said teasingly as I saw a look of happiness in his eyes and took off running and screaming around this mini tree house. He chased after me as he tackled me onto the bed.
