《Married to the Heartless Billionaire》13: Ashamed of Me

"I'm actually an employee, here", I responded as she readjusted knowing that I wasn't a hooker. She looked back at Nolan, giving him a light wave as he grabbed a file and made his way over. She smoothed her hair out and dusted off any lint located on her outfit. He got closer and she stood up straight pointing out her breasts.
"Nolan I-", she spoke as she was quickly interrupted.
"It's Mr. Clemente, Ms. Roach", he said making her know of her place and wanting her to stay there. I've heard of these stories the boss falls in love with the PA and I could tell this was definitely not the case.
Nolan let me leave to explore the office and just figure out the jist of things. Except I had no clue what I was even here. Should I just sit down at a computer and start working?
Sarcastic Bitch was just leaving the room, thankfully as I pondered asking Nolan about my responsibilities to the company.
"Nolan, can I talk to you for a second", I asked him as she stopped mid-door way and paused waiting for his reaction he gave her earlier.
"Sure Nat, come sit", he said as her jaw fell to the ground and she was jealous I could tell and my mission was definitely done.
I plopped on his couch as I layed on my belly, pretending to fly, I swear I can act drunk, when I don't drink water. I stretched out as I waited for him to say something, anything.
"What should I do", I cooed to him as I kept flying and he just gave a short laugh. and just like that the phone started ringing. He of course picked it up, stupid Collin.
"Collin Man", he threw his stapler at me as it ricocheted off my ass and I looked back at him. If his face wasn't so pretty I would definitely staple his eyes shut. Instead of murdering him right then and there, I decided to leave with the most classy, dramatic exit.
"You can't touch this, You can't touch this, You can't touch this, oh You can't touch this, oh", I sang shaking my ass as he started laughing his head off and I could tell Collin was wondering what that fuck was happening.

"Go work", he shooed me off as he continued his conversation.
"Bye", I whispered loudly and crept away to do the only thing I knew possible. I went to the lower level of the building as I made my own key card, except mine said "shared boss (you can wear sweats)", in pink letters looked fake but definitely real.
At my job in the diner when I was still bussing tables at the restaurant I had to wash the floors and even dust their antiques. I didn't know if their was any antiques here. My boss let me go by saying "you became a pro at dusting antiques though", he high fived me and then I went to their competitor for a job. "Traitor" he said when he saw me at the business meeting between companies, and that was how I landed here.
I unlocked the closet and checked in signing myself in, so I could log some hours. He told me to work, so I put on a new uniform and pushed my cart. I took a set of keys and went to the first room on the checklist.
'conference room' I double and triple checked I was going the right way towards it. I finally rode on the elevator and found it. People were giving me the weirdest stares ever and I just walked and walked doing my job.
As time passed and lunch did too I didn't take a lunch break I worked my ass off. I grabbed a vending machine snack and got right back to work so that I was down to the last one. It was filled with people and I scanned the room as I looked for familiar faces.
There was Nolan, listening to some nervous guy, go through his slideshow. He was honest to god shaking. He got to his 'in conclusion' slide and then they had a long talk. I'm so glad they couldn't see me, no distractions right. Nolan picked up his papers and hurried out of the room as I grabbed my granola bar and tried to clean up. His associates piled out after him I hid behind a bush to make it look like I was working, on a bush that was perfect.
Nolan was standing far surrounded by a group of guys,I saw Tyler and Alec, which I had met briefly at the wedding the others were all just dressed up in a suit and pretty down to business. I turned my face to try to leave as a guy made his way over to me, and got a peek at my face, how lovely.

"Well hello there, your a pretty doll, we can go out for drinks later, my treat?", he said as he hit on me and man was he loud. He caused all of the associates to look my way and the spotlight was on me. I tucked my hat lower as I could feel the piercing eyes of one individual who had recognized my silky brown hair, and my my dark but hazel eyes.
I turned my head to walk away as I bumped into a hard surface and collided into his hard stomach, it all felt very familiar until I looked up and saw his green eyes piercing down at me and I could see a shard of him being ashamed of me.
"Natalie", he yelped in surprise as he steadied me out and all the men were staring at me including Tyler and Alec. Nolan grabbed my hand and yanked me away to a room where no one could see us or hear us. He pulled me so fast I couldn't even catch up, he was furious. He closed the door and locked it as I was scared of what was happening. He knelt down on the table as he looked ashamed.
"God, What the fuck are you doing", and this time he's pissed full on pissed. He was ashamed of me, he was ashamed of the life I had before. He was ashamed of me and my past.
"You told me to work, so that's exactly what I was doing", I explained myself as he gave out a light chuckle and just put his hands through his hair.
"That is not work, well it's not our work, your the fucking second-highest person in this business and your a janitor that's a filthy job it's not for us", he tried to reason with me but all I heard was I wasn't like them.
"I can't let you be seen like this, it's horrible, why ? just why? would you embarrass me like this? your my wife not a poor person", he says ranting on and on about my unfair work ethic.
"Then start treating me like it, god" I screamed as he just stood there. He stood in silence and so did I as he swiftly made his way to the door as my small body blocked him.
"We're fixing this", I said as I pushed him back. He sat down at the chair across the table and waited for someone's first words.
"Are you ashamed of me", I looked away from him as he hesitated to respond.
"Your an owner of this company, your supposed to do real work not janitorial staff", he said offending me, but could I really blame him he didn't know about my past, or frankly anything about me. We were both standing at different sides of the table, which just added to the intensity.
"Being a janitor is real work, it's definitely real work and those people who are janitors work so hard doing things that you can't even do", his face boiled.
"And what about you, you had servants and daddy's credit card", he insulted me as I figured out his real opinion of me a spoiled brat with daddy's money.
"You don't know a thing about my life", I retorted as he seemed more intrigued.
"Then tell me, we're married", he joked as I could tell he felt a little sorry.
"I was a janitor, affording my apartment. I worked night shift and I bussed tables and cleaned up bathroom stalls that was me, fourteen to now. I worked my ass off to afford clothes and food and I'm sorry if your ashamed of me and I'm sorry if you think that's it's not real work cause it is", I said as a tear fell on my cheek and I wiped it away. He looked upset of why he yelled at me, and he came closer to me as he just held me close.
"No- No we need to finish", I said as I pushed him away but he was too strong and he just held me as he placed kisses on my forehead.
"I don't care about anything as long as you're happy I'm sorry for what I said", he whispered into my ear as I just stopped fighting back.
