Finally, while looking in the mirror, he promised himself that he would not give up and find the real culprit no matter what happens.

'Jodha, I will prove to the world that you are innocent and wash this devilish blame from your head. This is the toughest war of our lives, and I can't afford to lose this war; I will fight; I will fight until the end. As per your wish, no one will see Jalal's inner turmoil. I will gulp my tears and smile.'

Jalal, with the letter, walked in Maham's chamber without any announcement. Maham was sitting on the couch with closed eyes; she had a sly wicked smile on her face. He was familiar with this gesture; after every big victory or kill, she always rested like this.

Jalal, with a very calm tone, said, "Badi Ammi."

Maham awoke with shock after hearing the sound of Jalal. He noticed a sudden change in her expression. She vainly tried to hide her happiness from him.

Jalal slyly grinned at her and pointed out, "Badi Ammi, after many days, your face is glowing and shining today; I am glad to see deep peace and satisfaction on your face."

Maham realized that Jalal read her face and hidden happiness. To hide her emotions from him, she continued in a fake sad tone, "When my child is in grief, how can I stay happy?"

Jalal responded with a genuine tone, "You are right, Badi Ammi; I have no one left in this palace other than you, who I can count on and trust. I have one request from you."

Maham with relief, "Yes, Jalal... tell me."

Although he could sense her fake sympathy, he curbed his anger and continued in an emotional tone, "Badi Ammi, Queen Jodha has left this letter for me. Can you please read it for me? I don't want anyone else to read this; other than you, I don't trust anyone."

An evil smirk smeared through her lips, she took the letter and began to read. Jalal pretended with different sentiments on every word. At the same time, reading, she stopped for a few seconds and looked at Jalal hesitantly; her expression changed when Jodha mentioned her plan, her face turned pale, and she seemed very nervous. Cleverly, she skipped the whole part about her conspiracy and ended the letter with Junglee Billi.

He instantly could read her face that she was the one who is the culprit. His broken heart shattered once again. Deep down, he had hope that she might be innocent. Now there was no doubt left; it was crystal clear, his heart and mind both accepted that she is a murderer of his unborn child and a killer of his dreams; because of her, he is separated from Jodha. His warrior blood was boiling inside. Still, on the contrary, he kept his mind balanced and downright calm. He wanted to prove Jodha's innocence and wanted to catch Maham with proof, red-handed.

Jalal curbed his anger and requested Maham to read that letter for him once again. This time she sounded much more nervous than before; while reading, she fumbled a few times. It was clearly showing from her actions that she was hiding something. She again skipped the part about her scheme which Jodha wrote.

While Maham read the letter, Jalal was thinking about the beautiful moments he spent with his Badi Ammi, How she was running behind him to feed. How she saved his life took a sword on her chest. How she taught him about politics, How she felt happy with his every victory, gradually his anger melted into pain. By the time Maham finished rereading the letter, his eyes were filled with immense sorrow and pain; he sensed millions of thorns stabbing on his heart. Badi Ammi's betrayal was unbearable for him. He trusted very few people in his life. Finally, his vulnerable eyes dripped from the corner. His eyes staring at Maham and screaming out loud while asking Why Badi ammi? Why?

Maham finished reading the letter and looked at Jalal's condition. Her heart was dancing, seeing him in pain. Jalal could see everything crystal clear; he could even sense her happiness in his pain. He grabbed the letter from her without saying a word, then briskly walked out of her chamber. Maham didn't even realize that Jalal knew everything; she thought Jalal was in pain hearing Jodha's letter.

As soon as Jalal came out of the Maham's chamber, he wanted to run to Rukaiya and tell her Jodha was innocent, and Maham is the one who killed her unborn child. She has murdered her kid, but Jalal recalled the court scene, how disgustingly she behaved with Jodha and how she punished her. He decided not to speak until he collected concrete proofs against Maham.

Immediately he called Abdul and told him everything. He also informed him about how Maham skipped that paragraph from the letter. Even Abdul couldn't grasp what he heard; he knew Maham was a player, but killing Jalal's child and blaming Jodha begum was extreme to digest.

Jalal and Abdul discussed many scenarios for hours then came up with a plan.

First, they decided to take away all support from Maham. Therefore, they planned to take Resham, Maham's personal maid, out of her life and replace her with their spy.

The second part was to find out about the Healer who helped Maham and gave that ark (Medicine) to her; since it was a sensitive matter, Jalal decided to talk to the palace healer himself.

The last part of the plan was to take all the power from Maham tactfully with the Healer and the spy's help by mixing medicine in her food, making her feel sick and weak day by day.

Abdul restlessly said, "Shahenshah, to execute this plan properly, it can take up to two-three months, and we are not even sure that we will find proof or not. Do you think we should wait for evidence, I think, when you are very confident that Badi Ammi has done all this, then why wait?"

Jalal replied composedly, "No, Abdul, Badi Ammi is in a very high position, and she controls many sections. This time the blame is on Queen Jodha, so I don't want common people to question me on what basis I have punished Maham when already Queen Jodha's been proven guilty. I want to be very cautious this time since it's a matter of my love. And, at any cost, I have to win this war."

Abdul agreed with Jalal's perspective; he felt delighted and proud to see Jalal utterly balanced in this critical and emotional time.

Plan executed and started to work.

According to their plan, Resham, Maham's maid, received a fake message from his family urging that his father is very sick and therefore visits him at the village urgently. With Maham's permission, Resham left the palace, and on the way, they detained her until the entire matter was resolved. In replacement of Resham, a spy appointed as Maham's helper kept watching on her moves.

Jalal himself went to see the Royal Healer to her clinic to inquire about Rukaiya's miscarriage. He asked Healer many questions to judge her reaction to each question and find out if she was involved in this deception, the way she answered every question. Jalal's sharp observance and keen quality of judging people concluded that Healer was not involved in this setup. Disappointingly he got up to leave, but coincidentally he witnessed the Healer's assistant walking in wearing costly Jewelry and silk clothes, which surprised him, how she can afford to wear these types of expensive garments and Jewelry. Without saying a single word, he casually responded to her 'Aadab' and briskly walked out of the clinic. Immediately, he arranged further investigation on Healer's associate covertly.

To keep this scheme underground, Jalal got the medicine out of state Healers to implement the third step. The spy began to mix the medication in Maham's food. Slowly, she started to show an indication of weakness and dizziness in the night time. Due to medicine's effect, she could not wake up on time and complete her task on time. Then, gradually with the consent of Jalal, the agent increased the dose of the medicine; she started off showing more and more symptoms like weakness, vertigo, dizziness, vomiting. Many times she collapsed in the palace while walking in different instances. People started to notice her sickness. As per their plot, Few times, she lost her balance and fell in Diwan e khaas within two weeks. Day by day, she was getting weaker.

Three weeks passed after Jodha left; everything was the same in the palace. The Sun rises in the east with shades of orange glow. Birds were chirping with melodious songs. Flowers were blooming. Moon shined every night with his glory, but for Jalal, everything was lifeless. He lost all colors from his life; his routine became so mechanical. Nothing was giving him pleasure; soothing music made his heart restless, the glow of the peaceful Moon was giving him a burning sensation. With extreme anger, he stared at the Sun every day. As soon as he closed his eyes to pray, Jodha's innocent sobbing face came in front of his eyes; he was not even able to concentrate on prayer.

Although he learned how to gulp his tears and keep a fake smile on his face, there was not even a moment he hadn't thought about Jodha. The second he gets a break from work, his mind runs to capture him in Jodha's thoughts. Maham's treachery deeply wounded his heart, and the pain of separation from Jodha was eating him up inside ... His days were passing quickly, but many nights were too rough. It became his daily routine to sit by the divine temple Jyot (flame of a candle) for hours before going to bed. Only this flame was giving him peace and was assuring him of his Jodha's existence.

His hectic schedule and the mission to catch Maham kept him alive; day by day, his frustration increased. It was nearly three weeks; he failed to get any evidence against Maham. On the other hand, there was no clue or hint from anywhere about Jodha. Soldiers were searching for her in every temple, village, (orphanages) Ashrams. Still, no one got success. Jalal had no choice but to work with Maham with a fake smile every day until she got caught red-handed.

On the other side, Maham was shocked to see Jalal entirely in control. The way he was handling his work and controlling his emotion was upsetting her. Her plan worked but didn't influence Jalal. Jodha was out of his life, but still, he was in complete control and more involved in work.

Three weeks later, after Jodha left:

Diwan E Khaas was filled with many officials and administrators, including Maham Anga; there was a severe conversation about Abul Mali's betrayal. Maham got up to give her opinion about this matter, but she started to feel dizzy. She lost her balance once again in the current court. It was the fifth time that happened in front of many people. Jalal got up from his throne, gave her support, and made her sit on the chair; after a few minutes, she felt better.

With fake care and anger, Jalal scolded, "Badi Ammi, why are you not taking care of your health? You are working for the sultanate and court throughout the day; it's not your age anymore to work hard like this. It would be best if you rested; this is the age you need to give your time in Allah's worship. I am your child, and it is my responsibility to take care of you, Badi Ammi; I can't see you in this condition anymore. I am relieving you from the minister's position."

Hearing this, Maham got shocked and replied nervously, " No ... Jalal ... I am fine and healthy."

Jalal sarcastically said, "No, Badi ammi, you have done enough for this sultanate and me. Not anymore. I can't be this much self-centered."

Jalal announced in a prevailing tone, "Badi ammi is retiring from Wazir E Aliya's position; due to her health condition, I have taken this tough decision. Until we announce a new Wazir for this position, Atgah sahib will take care of Badi Ammi's responsibility. Also, it is my strict order that from today onwards, no one will disturb Badi Ammi related to any official sultanate work. I appreciate her hard work and faithfulness towards the Mughal Empire. With gratitude, I am requesting Badi Ammi to take a rest and enjoy her retirement."

After hearing the announcement, Maham felt someone pulled the carpet under her legs. Her eyes widened in shock; her dreams, Her position, Her power, everything was taken away in just a fraction of a second. The way Jalal announced so slyly and in a very firm authoritative tone, she couldn't defy a single word.

Hamida, Rukaiya, and many others didn't understand why Jalal suddenly took this big decision. Jalal ordered one of the maids to take Badi ammi to her chamber carefully, then looked at Maham sadly and said, "Badi Ammi, you need to relax and take care of your health. It's a request from your son."

Every person in the court understood Jalal's concern for her and agreed with his decision.

While watching her walking out of Diwan, he silently murmured, 'Badi Ammi, this is just a beginning. You have given me bloody, took away my smile, my child, my Jodha, my happiness, so now it's your turn. Your most valuable things, your power, and position, I have snatched away from you. I have learned all these tactics from you only; you reap what you sow.' Jalal and Abdul looked at each other and cunningly grinned.

Maham was feeling too helpless; for her, this was a bigger shock than Adham's death.

After the court, Jalal instructed Atgah sahib that he needed to shift to Maham's chamber immediately. That chamber belongs to Wazir of this sultanate. Please arrange to give another chamber to Badi Ammi." He paused, seeing his shocking expression; a few moments later, Jalal continued in an insisting tone, "Make sure that happens before tonight."

Atgah got surprised by this sudden change in Jalal, but without any question, he replied, "As you wish, Shahenshah."

It was afternoon lunchtime; Maham was in her chamber sitting sadly while thinking... 'Adham died... Resham left... Now my power is also gone...' She never felt this helpless in her life.

Jalal came into her chamber to see her health with the maid holding a plate of food for Maham.

Jalal asked, "How are you feeling now, Badi Ammi?"

"Jalal, I never expected one day you would discharge me from my position like this without any discussion. You have shocked me." Maham replied in a hurtful tone.

Jalal responded with fake concern, "Badi Ammi, you don't care about your health at all, but it is my responsibility as a son to take care of you. So, I want you to understand why I had to take that harsh decision. Now don't take too much strain and eat the food."

The maid kept the food on the table and started to serve; as soon as Maham's eyes laid on the food, she shouted, "Why did you bring this tasteless khichdi?"

"Badi Ammi, don't scold her; I have ordered this food, especially for you. As per the Healer's instruction, this food is good for your health; for a few days, you need to eat bland food." Jalal replied calmly.

"Nothing has happened to me; I am healthy and fine." Maham tried to make him understand.

Jalal thought cleverly, 'I know very well you are healthy, and nothing has happened to you.'

Jalal firmly responded, "Badi ammi, no arguments; you are behaving like a little kid, you have to eat this food until you get cured completely." Then he instructed the maid in a stern tone, "Let me know if she doesn't finish this food, and don't give her any other food."

Jalal walked out from her chamber, he felt a little happy on his first victory, but his heart was still throbbing with pain, a pain of separation from Jodha.

In the evening, Atgah came to Maham's chamber and informed her that she needs to vacate her section. She has been allocated a different chamber.

Hearing this, Maham got another shock. Her eyes filled with extreme rage, she yelled, "How dare you? Have you forgotten who I am? I am Wazir e Aliya Maham Anga. Are you out of your mind, you are ordering me to vacate this chamber? I have spent many years here, and you are telling me to leave this chamber. I will make sure Jalal punishes you for your audacity."

"A.aa. gustakhi maaf... Maham Anga Ji." Atgah nervously replied.

For the first time, Maham heard her name without Wazir E Aliya from Atgah's mouth. She lost her temper and forgot she is not Wzire anymore; she again shouted, "What did you say? How dare you address me by my name?"

Atgah uneasily said, "I am just following Shahenshah's order, my lady, look at this royal declaration which was given by Shahenshah, and according to this decree, you have to vacate this chamber immediately. You have been allotted a new chamber."

Maham's eyes widened out of shock. She looked at the declaration letter blankly.

Atgah called the workers to help her with moving.

Maham's eyes filled with extreme rage and tears. She felt like someone was pounding on her head with a hammer. She wanted to scream. Her power, dignity, even her chamber was taken away from her, and she was left empty-handed. Finally, with tears, she moved out of the chamber.
