Chapter 45: Returning Home.

The following night was the wedding reception of Aaiyla and Ehaan. The entire event was organised outside under the moonlight at the wooden pavements, surrounded by waters.

The large block of pavement that connected to the main resort was more of a deck of the resort, with the waters surrounding it. There were railings around the deck, and candles lit on the water lillies alongside the path. The place was well lit by bamboo lights and the decorations consisted mainly of fresh flowers.

The night was bright as people chatted and mingled, greeted the bride and the groom and had food. Food was the major part of the celebration for it was well, food.

There was entertainment for the guests, provided by the resort as a congratulatory gift to the wedded couple. Fire dances danced around on the Traditional music made by the beating of Laali, a log that is hollow in the middle and is beat by two wooden sticks. Meke, traditional Fijian dance was also provided and there were a number of other Fiji style entertainment.

Amyrah and Kayan were together the entire evening for it was sorta like a free time for them. Since Aaiyla's mother-in-law opted to stay with her and Ehaan at the stage, Amyrah was free to leave and stay with Kayan and his family. Her family had come too but since she was now married to Kayan, she had to make the best of both families.

By the time it was midnight, things were cleared up, the reception was done and everyone had retired to bed.

Everyone, save for Amyrah and Kayan, who set outside their small rented place, feet in the water and watching the night stars. The duo were aimlessly talking when Amyrah's phone rang. She picked it up to realize it was Esha from Canada.

"Hello"

"hello Amyrah. I hope I did not disturb your slumber" she said, her voice almost in panick.

"No, its alright. What is it, Esha?" she questioned, sitting up straight.

"Amyrah, Is there anyway you can fly back to Canada tomorrow? I think we might have a lot more to deal with than just aggressive customers" she stated and Amyrah felt her heart leap.

"What happened?"

"I am emailing you the email I received and they want an answer by tomorrow. I don't know what to do! It has never happened before. I mean we always met our deadlines and everything. Plus the teams wish to know what is going on with you right now. I can't handle them any longer, Amyrah. You need to get back in business" she said hastily and Amyrah rubbed her temples.

"Alright, Alright. I will be there as soon as I can" with that and a final salutation, Amyrah hung up. She felt Kayan's head on her shoulders and turned to face him.

"What is it?" he asked, raising his eyebrows.

"I think my agency needs me back" she replied and Kayan smiled.

"I know that. You wish to leave first thing in the morning?" he questioned and Amyrah nodded.

"I will book a ticket back home" she replied and Kayan stopped her hands from moving.

"What?"

"I will do it since I am coming with you"

Amyrah smiled silently at him. Kayan knew she would need him there with her to face many things for a business was never easy to handle.

Being home felt great, dealing with aggressive high-society clients did not.

"Sir, you need to understand that our contract stated until July 23rd, 2017. We simply cannot keep doing your work after that." Amyrah tried for the nth time but her client, Mr. Tiddleton was not ready to listen. The 50 something man set with his nose stuck high, adamant that The Rain Advertising do his billboards without a contract.

"Miss. Saleh, I hope you understand that we have been part of your success uptil now. We have contributed enough to make you stand where you are today" he said, his voice sharp and Amyrah felt aggitated. So did Apple. Inc, Samsung, Pentane, Celvin Klein and others. But they do things within the contract!

"I understand Sir, and we appreciate it. But surely you must know that without a contract, we do not work. Its simple really, either sign the contract or find another agency" she stated firmly, crossing her right leg over the left and leaning in to smile at the client.

The act gave Amyrah an upper hand when she saw a flicker of desperation in his eyes and she smiled even widely.

"So?" she questioned, pushing the contract infront of her. The client sighed in defeat and tilted his head to the man dressed in black suit, standing by his chair. The man bent down and the client spoke to him in hushed whispers. He then turned to Amyrah and nodded, picking up the contract.

"Let my lawyer talk to you and we can come to an agreement by this week Friday?" said the client and Amyrah nodded, leaning back.

"Now, that was not so hard, was it?" she said, and the client nodded hastily.

"Good day, sir. If you will excuse me" with that she got up and gave him a small smile before walking out of the conference halls towards her office.

Once she entered, she saw her husband seated on one of the Sofa, trying hard sleep without falling.

She smiled and walked towards him. She knelt down by his chair and smiled at his almost sleeping form. She knew he was asleep for he did not notice her there at all. Kayan's head moved from his sitting form towards the sofa edge and she instinctively held out her hand to catch the fall. He must really be tired.

"What did I ever do that I got you?" she whispered, pushing a few strands of hair out of his face. It was noon in Vancouver and they were lucky to have made it on time for Kayan, the rich heir, had a private jet. Huh.

Her phone rang and she looked over to her desk and then back at Kayan. They should really get some rest.

She finally decided to wake up Kayan and when he did, she got up and walked over to her desk and answered the call of her mother. After a few minutes of yes and no's, she finally hung up and since she had sent a message to Kulthum to inform the family that they had safely landed in Canada boundaries.

"Lets go home" she told Kayan, picking up her coat and walking towards the door. Kayan followed suit and soon the duo were out of the Rain Building, and into Amyrah's Mercedes. Since Kayan was sleepy, Amyrah opted to drive.

"I want food" whined Kayan for the nth time while Amyrah put her clothes back in her closet. Since she was away for quite a lot of months, she simply had groceries in the kitchen and thus, they opted to order dinner from the Halal diner down the street.

"Jeez. Calm down. It will be here soon" she replied, putting her hijab in its holders along with many others.

She heard the bedroom door open and turned to see Kayan entering it.

"What is it?" she asked him, putting the golden hijab that was in her hands on the counter in her walk in closet.

"I am hungry. Like really hungry" he whined, making a cute face with a pout. She smiled and walked to him. She placed her arms around his neck and he placed his on her hips.

"I know baby. A few more minutes and it will be here" she said, placing a small peck on his lips and he smiled.

"Sure. You said that 10 minutes ago too" he retorted and she laughed.

"I know that too. But you ordered for dinner too. So there was a long list. What was I to do?" she remarked and he gave her a sheepish smile.

"i could not simply settle for pizza you know" he muttered and she laughed, placing another kiss on his pink cheeks.

"You are so cute"

"I am cute and you are ugly" he stated and Amyrah faked a gasp.

"You dare call me ugly!" she said, placing a hand on her chest.

"Oh I did"

"Huh. You have to live with This face for the rest of your life!" she stated, making a circle gesture over her face and smirking at him.

"My bad" he jested, trying his best to stop his laughter. She glared at him, before huffed and walked out of the room. Just then, the doorbell rang and Amyrah walked towards the main door to receive the food.

"Thank you" she said, taking the food and signing her name. She locked the door and walked back to the kitchen. She put out the dishes while Kayan took out the water from the fridge. The duo placed everyone on the counter before sitting down to eat.

Lunch went uneventful. After lunch, the two were too tired to even walk to their room. So they prayed Zuhr before crashing the living room.

Amyrah took the large couch, her back hitting the back of the couch. Kayan lay infront of her, wrapping his arms around her waist and tangling his legs with hers. He lay in such a way that his body protected Amyrah from falling on the floor.

By the time the two woke up, the sun was almost down and they had managed to miss Asr, much their dismay. But nonetheless, they prayed Magrib together.

After magrib, the two settled infront of the TV with remotes to watch movies. The starting of the movie went alright, until it started to get boring and since Kayan gets bored easily, he began playfully doing things to Amyrah. He would lean in and bite on her ears, he would tickle her and when she glared at him, he would laugh and peck her lips to make it up. Soon, it turned into somewhat a heated series of kisses and in the end, the duo ended up on the bed with the TV still playing in the living room.

"TV" muttered Amyrah, trying to process what was actually happening.

"Leave it" was Kayan's short reply before he began kissing her over and over again.

That night, Amyrah found out what it felt to be his wife. He made her feel like a complete woman, something she would have never agreed to if she was told before.

"From dusk till dawn" He whispered in her hair before kissing her once again.
