Chapter 33: Date is Final!

The night was bright. Every person present at the backyard of the mansion at Denarau were laughing and chattering in happiness. With the fast approaching wedding of Aaiyla and Ehaan, and the news of Kayan and Amyrah (Which is yet to be announced), every family member was excited.

Kayan was at one corner, being tortured with questions by the siblings. He had successfully dodged everything about his time in Canada and he was hoping to keep it up.

"Boys, come over!!" called over Jazbah, and the boys nodded before standing up and walking towards them.

"Where is Kayan?"

And everyone then looked about, realizing the main boy was missing.

That was fast.

"He is on an important Dubai call" said Yazdan and Sahl nodded. Karmaan raised an eye brow and Sahl nodded at them.

"Oh yeah, he told me to inform you all that he will be a little late" added Safwah, smiling sheepishly. He winked at the siblings who grinned.

Qaidah shook her head and began talking to Noor about something.

Amyrah was walking down the steps when she saw Kayan walking towards her.

Suddenly, out of no where, she felt like she wanted to hide. Something different. It was not out of embarrassment. Was she shy?

"Ooooffff!!!" she whispered to herself before taking cautious steps back up the stairs to the safety of the dark halls.

Holding her breath, she waited for him to pass.

What is he doing here anyway? she thought with distraught. She had to give herself too much prep talk n order to gather the courage to face the entire family!

"Where is this girl!?" she heard him mutter and a slow smile made its way on her face. Despite her heart beating so ferociously in her rib cage, she still smiled.

"I will just wait at the terrace, she might be there" he said to himself and Amyrah heard his footsteps fading away.

She wondered what he wanted to be there waiting for her.

Sighing she got out of her hiding place and took a right turn, walking towards the terrace.

Upon entering, she stood at the gates, admiring the back view of the man who had her heart.

"You can come over, you know"

Amyrah's heart picked up the rate when he spoke about it.

He turned around, and in slow motion, Amyrah saw how handsome he looked in the night lights. Dressed in navy blue and white, he looked devilishly handsome. His hair was pushed back and the sides were faded. And he had a well maintained, short beard!

How could Amyrah not fall in love with him?!?!

He shot her a charming smile and motioned her towards the railings. She walked towards him and stood beside him, causing him to turn his head to look at her. He had to crane his head to look down at her because even though Amyrah was 5'7, she still felt short infront of him.

"As salamu alaikum" he said, smiling down at her.

She peered at him from under her lashes.

"Wa alaikum mus salaam" she whispered back, pink tints appearing on her face.

"I wanted to ask you something" he said, getting into serious mode all over again.

"What is it?" questioned Amyrah, looking over at him with concern.

"I know you always wanted someone with perfection, and I am no where near that. So did you think it thoroughly before giving your answer?" questioned Kayan.

Amyrah peered at him in silence.

The silence of Amyrah sent shivers down Kayan's spine. Silence always was an intimidating weapon.

"I guess you need time" he said, taking a step back. He looked down at the well lit backyard and then back up to the sky, avoiding her eye contact.

After a prolonged silence, she spoke.

"-I did Istikharah and then decided my answer." she replied, smiling at him.

His eyes met hers and they held each other's gaze for a few moments before she tore it away.

"What was your answer?" he questioned and when he saw faint patches of pink on her cheeks, he knew she might have witnessed something like he did. And he took that as an advantage.

"Oh come on! What was it?" he questioned her, causing her to look away.

"No"

"Why not?" he questioned her, inching closer.

"Don't!" she whined, walking away.

Kayan laughed, leaning on the railing looking over at her retreating.

Just then his cell phone rang, indicating a call from Yazdan.

"Hurry up dude. We can't handle them any longer" he spoke and Kayan laughed.

"I am coming"

A crowd formed around Amyrah when she entered the backyard. It was decorated with fairy lights and tables set all across. The men were at the barbecue stand, making dinner and the youths were playing board games with the kids.

The girls had crowded over her first and then the older ladies did too. Everyone congratulated them and questioned and teased her.

Finally after several minutes of what seemed hours, everyone calmed down and left Amyrah alone with the other girls to have fun.

"Okay so- the grandparents have arranged the functions in this manner" said Urwa, sitting down in between Kulthum and Aaiyla, closing the circle that they formed on the grass.

"Okay"

"-Thursday is dua, Friday is meant to be the henna night for Aaiyla, Saturday is the wedding!" she said excitedly.

"Are you all ready with your clothes?" questioned Aaiyla to the girls and they replied affirmative.

"Okay so- I am hoping one of us would be lawfully married by then?" teased Aaiyla and Amyrah blushed.

It was true. Soon after everyone had left her, Qaidah and Grandma Zaeef had talked to her about the nikah and she had replied with a shy smile and 'Up to you all'

And that was it. It was up to them to decide. Which was what they were currently doing.

"No, this Friday is too early! Its just four days away!"

"This Friday is perfect! Next Friday would be busy with shopping as the following Friday is the wedding!"

"I know but its still early!!"

"I know that but we can make it work!"

And soon everyone was in a heated discussion about the date.

Kayan tilted his head and hit Yazdan's before resting it on the side of his head, looking at his family and Amyrah's argue on the date.

"No one bothers to ask the groom" he muttered sadly, causing his siblings to laugh.

"And what would be your idea?" questioned Karmaan.

"Tomorrow? An hour from now? As soon as possible?"

"I knew it!!" laughed Ehaan and Aaiyla's creepy smiling face popped infront of them.

"I knew it too!!!!!!!" with that she began her drama.

"OOOOOO aammmiiii!!!!!"

Before Kayan could fathom what was going on, Aaiyla was gone and everyone was crowded around her.

"Kayan bhai wants the nikah as soon as possible! So this Friday!" she grinned and everyone turned to the blushing Kayan.

"Is it true?"

"Oh how stupid of us! We should have asked them first!"

"Okay this Friday agreed!" said grandfather Zaeef and everyone cheered.

And Friday would be the day, two people's unique and totally different life would become one.
