Of course, this would happen in a moment like this, at a moment where I felt a little relief that I could finally take a break with Mala.

Her mother and grandmother are here in my time when I saw Mala hugged them. Something hit me, this was her family, and she's been away from them for a very long time.

Mala has been with me for a while, and that time, Mala has been away from the era where she's come from has been long in her time.

I knew what her mother was trying to tell me when she said what she said.

I didn't blame her; she is Mala's mother after all, and from what Mala has told me.

She is her mother's only child.

I can't imagine what her mother went through with not knowing what happened to her daughter.

Mala has told me that she is close with her mother, so I know the mother was having a hard time when her daughter was taken from her the way she did.

It's not like her daughter was in another city or kingdom. Her daughter was in another era.

My era to Mala era is ancient; she calls her era the future to me.

I've listened to stories of what she's told me, and of course, my mind was blown when she would tell me those stories.

It was amazing how her time has advanced.

What could my era offer her?

Mala knows how I feel about her, and she knows how much I care about her.

She knows that I love her.

So whatever decision she makes, I will accept it.

I respect her; I respect her mindset and her way of thinking.

Mala is a gem.

Of course, such treasure is something that you will want to hold onto forever.

But, how can you hold on to something when it was never meant to be yours in the first place.

"Tut, hey, are you okay?" Mala asked me.

She was standing next to me, for how long? I have no idea.

"You went quiet, and I was calling your name out for a while now. Is it because of this? Talk to me." Mala said. I could hear the worried tone of her voice.

"Uh, I just don't know what to say," I said to her.

She tilted her head to the side and stared at me.

"There's something you want to say isn't there. You can say it, Tut." Mala said to me. Her tone was serious, and she was looking at me with understanding.

"Do I even have the rights to say anything? Do I have a say? This is your life." I said to her in a soft tone.

"Yes, it is my life, but you have every right to say anything. You're important to me just as I am important to you. Your feelings, thoughts, and everything else matters to me. So, yes. You do." Mala said to me.

The way my heartfelt overwhelmed from what she said, there was no way I couldn't say how I felt to her.

"I want to be with you," I said to her.

"And I want to be with you too, Tut, without a doubt," Mala said back to me.

"Nothing will change how I feel about you, don't ever doubt it or let anything interfere with that," Mala said.

"I know, Mala, but you had a whole life in your era, and I can't ask you to give up that for me," I said to her.

"I care about you a lot, and I care about your well-being, and if this is something that is best for you, then who am I to say no to it," I told her.

"Well, what if you two could both have it where you can spend time in this era and then also spend time in our era." Mala's grandmother spoke.

"Mom... what are you saying?" Mala's mother said, turning her attention to her mother.

"I'm just saying that it is something that I had thought about before I came here and thought of if it as well, to see if it will be able to work or not." Mala's grandmother said, causing her daughter's eyes to widen.

"I came here thinking of different outcomes; I like to see everyone's side in this, and yes, I saw your side as you're my daughter, but I also saw and wanted to see Amala and King Tut side when it came to this, which is what we are seeing." Mala's grandmother said.

"No one said they couldn't have it that way; I don't see why not. At the end of it, everyone will be happy instead of hurting each other or ruining something." Mala's grandmother said.

"How will this even work?!" Mala's mother said.

"I am not against the idea, but I also don't want to get their hopes up if it's something that won't work." Mala's mother said.

"Ah, you doubt my brain's ability, child, it's going to work. Amala left in 2017, and years have passed, which I already thought would be the case. So, we would just make it where Amala is only gone for a couple of months from our time and not years." She said, taking out something from a bag she was carrying.

"Which I have worked out here, so if Amala is gone for a couple of months from our time, it would just be a couple of weeks in Tut's time." Mala's grandmother said.

"Another thing is, I don't see the issue with Tut also doing the back and forth with Amala." She said.

"What? You mean there will be a way that Tut could come with me?" Mala asked.

"Yes, of course, I would recommend him to get a lot of tests done and vaccines as well when he comes to our time, but yes. I am sure he would be able to travel with you to your era just like you were able to do to his, this time willingly, of course." Mala's grandmother said.

"Do you think there's anything wrong with that?" Mala's grandmother asked Mala's mother, staring at her with an honest, concerned stare.

"Let me see what you worked out, mother." Mala's mother asked, and the grandmother handed it to her.

I watch as the mother looked over it and let out a sigh.

"This could work, mother, and I don't even know how you were able to work this out, but we will be changing stuff with history if we do this." Mala's mother said.

"No, no one else will know, but whoever Tut and Amala let's know, of course, we would just have it where Tut is only seen from time to time. Amala as well, and also where they are seen as private people. Also, honey, changing stuff with history? Amala has caused that to happen ever since she came to this era. From the moment she was brought here, history wasn't the same." Mala's grandmother said.

"Mom, Tut is supposed to die soon. Which is why we came to get Amala." Mala's mother said.

My eyes widened to that; I already knew of this because Mala had told me before that I ended up dying.

"So how would you like to do it then, because if King Tut were to live, it would change the balance of history," Mala said.

"What if we still had him die," Mala said softly, but it caught all three of us attention as we stared at her to continue.

"Continue," I said to her.

"This is crazy, but what if we have him still end up dying, but he doesn't die. We fake his death, but only some people know the truth of what happened to King Tut. Also, we will only have his loyal servants and family members come in whenever or stay in his palace—no one else. So we could avoid any surprises." Mala said.

"But that would mean after Tut's fake death; he would have to stay with me longer. Are you okay with that, Tut? Are you okay with any of this?" Mala asked me as she stared at me.

I thought about everything through. I thought about my feelings, everything I have gone through while growing up, and everything that has happened from the minute I met Mala.

"Yes," I said

"I am okay with all of this. I am, but I want to take my mother along as well; I've been apart from her too long not to have her with me and not having her to see me continue to grow older." I said.

"I agree with you, Tut, and I would love for your mother to come along as well," Mala said.

I smiled at her.

Her mother let out a sigh, and we turned our attention to her.

"Mom, I want this," Mala said.

Her mother looked up at her and nodded her head.

"Okay, I understand, but what about King Tut's death because I am sure you realize that how history remembers King Tut is not how he is now. So, how did he die? Was it murder? because if it was plan murder which caused King Tut to die, that means there is someone or group of people who will be planning on killing King Tut." Mala's mother said.

"Then we have his fake death happen before so they could think someone else got to King Tut before they did." Mala's grandmother said.

"Then where would we get the fake body?" Mala's mom asked.

"From someone who has already died and someone who's already sick." Mala's grandmother said.

"Not too sad horrible, but I am sure there is a lot of people in this era dying from a disease or sickness who happen to have a weak body as well." Mala's grandmother said.

"You thought this through all the way I see mother." Mala's mother said to her mother.

"Yes, I have. Amala gets that from me after all; making great plans is something I am good at." She said, causing me to smile at that.

I could tell that for sure.

"Okay, well. It's made up then; we will go with that plan." Mala's mom said, and for some reason, I didn't even know I was holding my breath until I let out in relief.

"Thank you," I said to both Mala's mother and grandmother.

Mala's mother smiled at me.

"I wasn't trying to give you two a hard time; I was just making sure that you two knew about the different outcomes and if it was a rational choice. I had a feeling my mother would come up with a plan for this because she comes up with plans for everything." Mala's mother said.

"I see what my daughter feelings for you, and I could tell that separation between you two would have hurt her, so I am glad my mother came up with a plan that I see would work. Especially for all parties." Mala's mother said.

"Thank you, grandma," Mala said to her grandmother.

"Of course, darling, so who are you two planning on letting know? I'm sure you two have some close people and family members you two want to let know this." Mala's grandmother said.

Mala turned her head to look at me, and I turned to look at her.

"Who should we tell first?" She asked me, smiling.

I smiled at her back, the feeling of love overtaking me and knowing that I will be able to be with Mala.

I was scared that I wouldn't be able to be with her and dread the time that I would have to say goodbye to her, but now knowing that I don't have to do that makes me genuinely happy.

"Let's tell them all at once. Together, I'm so happy we don't have to separate." I said to her softly.

Her smile widened; she walked closer to me and wrapped her arms around me.

"I'm so happy as well." She said.

"I was prepared to tell them I would stay with you." She whispered so only we both could hear.

I whispered back to her, "I was prepared to let you go if that was what you wanted. I just want you to be happy." I whispered to her.

"Well, now we can both be happy together." She said to me softly, pulling herself back and kissing my cheek.
