《Sent To The Past (Interracial Romance)》CH. 36 Why can't we speak?

The room fell silent, I could feel Tut staring at me but I didn't move my stare from Kronos.

"You want to speak to my mother?" Kronos asked with a stunned expression, it was obvious that he wasn't expecting that.

I'm sure no one was expecting that I would want to talk to the main woman who wants me dead, especially if they knew she was the main reason why I was here.

Why my life has completely changed, why I am no longer home or even in my era living my life.

She was the reason why I was stuck in the past, but I still wanted to talk to her.

I still wanted to know the reason why? Why she became that way, why did this woman turned into a Villian?

"Mala, I don't want you speaking to her." I heard Tut say, I turned my head to look at him.

To see if he was actually serious, his facial expression and the look in his eyes were proving to me that he was.

I understood that he might be worried but there was no way I was going to let him stop me from talking to her, if he was scared that she would do something to me, well then that is why he assigned guards to me.

I also would be fine if he was in the room with me, I wouldn't mind having him by my side as I talk to her but I don't want her stopping me from speaking to her also.

"Well with all due respect your highness, I believe that I am allowed to use my mouth and tongue for whatever thing I please to do with it and if I want to speak to her, then I shall speak to her," I said.

Tut eyes widened as he stared at me.

"Oh? Is that so?" He asked, narrowing his eyes at me.

I didn't know what exactly he was getting at, part of me wondered why he was narrowing his eyes at me in such a way.

Tut really doesn't want me talking to her.

"Yes, if it makes you uncomfortable, the guards that you have assigned to me can be station a couple of feet away from where I'll be talking to her and if I need them. I will either give a gesture or just flat out yell to them. You can also be right next to me when I am talking to her." I said softly.

"Why exactly do you want to talk to her?" He asked me, not changing his posture.

"I want to know," I said.

"Want to know what?" He asked me, his eyes no longer narrowed.

I watched as he ran his fingers through his hair.

"I want to know why she is the way that she is now. Like I've said before." I said to Tut, wondering why he was asking me so many questions.

Especially questions that I have answered before.

What was his reason?

What is he trying to get at?

"Oh, okay and what do you think that is going to accomplish when you ask her these questions, fine let's say she answers them and tells you why she is doing what she is doing, why she is hurting the people she is hurting and why she is the way that she is. What will that accomplish?" Tut asked me in a serious tone.

"It would give us better insight, it will show us why she is doing all she is doing and it would help us understand how to stop her, to show her that this isn't what should be done, that this isn't what she should be doing," I said.

"Oh, you think that she's going to listen to you and agree? This is a woman who took you away from your home. To use you for a sacrifice that we still don't know how or what she was exactly planning to use you for, but she got you here for a reason and she worked hard on that. This is a woman who came up with a plan to take children from parents, knowing that it would destroy the parents because she is a parent herself and you think that you will be able to get through her? You think that she's going to listen to you and agree?" Tut said.

I was feeling angry, I didn't know if I was feeling angry at Tut himself or how he made my idea sound bizarre. Doesn't he know getting a better understanding of someone who sees you as an enemy could become handy later on?

"Why are you saying all of this, I told you that the guards will be nearby and that you can also stand next to me when I talk to her. You're making it seem like I am throwing myself at her and just letting her take me away to do whatever she pleased to do with me. Tut I am not handing myself to her, I just want to talk. Why can't I talk to her?" I asked him, wondering why he was objecting to this.

"It is not safe, it's not a safe idea either." He said.

I shook my head.

"Well, hello there. None of the ideas I've come up with have been safe, including the idea of getting the children back. That wasn't safe either, the idea of finding out who planned the poison snake in the room wasn't safe either. None of my ideas have been safe Tut, but you know what. I still went through with them because it doesn't matter if the idea is safe or not. It matters on getting through them and getting an outcome. It's all about getting answers, keeping others safe and justice." I said to him.

"Even if it means losing yourself?! Or getting yourself killed?! Or throwing yourself to the enemy!?" Tut said, raising his voice.

I halted.

This was the first time Tut has ever start to raise his voice at me while knowing him.

"Why are you saying all of this!?" I raised my voice back at him, this is something that can get me killed or punish in his era but at this point, it was something I wasn't even worried about.

I realize that I was in an argument with Tut.

This is our very first argument.

"It's because I care about you! It's because I worry about you and it because you're the most important person to me right now and I am not going to let anyone or anything take you away from me!" He yelled in a loud voice, it felt like the room shook.

Silence fell over us.

I even forgot that the children were in the room until I heard a gasp coming from one of them.

I stared at Tut and found him looking away from me.

What do I say to that? I didn't even want to continue this little argument we were having.

I let out a sigh, I walked towards him which had him looking back towards me.

When I was standing in front of him, I grabbed his face with both hands and stared directly at his eyes. Making eye contact with him I smiled softly.

"I know you're worried about me, but I also get worried about you too. That is another thing we have in common when it comes to each other. I want you to see me as your partner, your equal and someone you can rely on. I get it that you're scared that you're unable to keep me safe, you didn't have to say it but I just got it just now. I don't want you to be scared about that, you will be able to keep me safe and I will be able to keep you safe okay? Please believe in that." I said, rubbing my thumb on his cheek.

Tut stared down at me, I know he was letting my words settle in.

"Okay." He said.

Relief overfilled my body.

I honestly was ready to say something else if he was going to say no.

He took one of my hands, from his cheek and kissed it.

"I'll be near you when you do." He said looking at me as he kissed my hand again.

My heart was pounding against my chest and I found myself wanting to kiss him.

"I'll also be near you when you do also, I have a feeling my mother would be more on answering the questions vibe if I ask her to," Kronos said causing me to turn around, remembering that they were in the chambers with us.

"Yes, of course. Okay. Well, Ramo and Leo, you two have a room in this wing. Kronos can sleep with you, is that fine?" I asked them. They looked at me shocked, I don't know about which part, the part that I had Tut get them a room in this wing, where they will be staying in and living in, or the fact that I said Kronos would be staying with them until his mother comes for him.

"Okay." All three said getting up.

"Excuse us then," Kronos said and they walked towards the doors of the chambers, leaving.

I let out a sigh, hoping that somehow that the Queen wouldn't be an evil bitch.

I felt a kiss against my neck and arms were suddenly wrapped around me.

"I'm sorry I yelled at you," Tut whispered.
