"You don't understand Amy, Mason is nothing like his stuck up sister."
I gritted my teeth hearing Cassandra read my texts to Amy out loud and I was seeing red.
"You're so gross you weird ass stalker bitch," her words were gritted out between clenched teeth, "I almost feel sorry for how desperate you are."
"Give me my phone," I ordered between clenched teeth but she only scoffed, taking a few steps toward me as she dropped her hand that once held up my phone for her to read.
"Did you really think you had even a chance with Mason? My brother doesn't date losers like you. All he'd do is use you."
That didn't sound like Mason at all.
I then remembered the way he grabbed my ass in the dark.
Maybe Cassandra was right.
"Just give me my phone!" I made a grab for it but she pulled her hand away and before I knew it, she struck me across the face with her free hand.
The sound of the slap echoed off the walls and I turned my head to look at her, blood boiling.
Who does this girl think she is?
"You're pathetic," she scoffed before dropping my phone to the floor and stepping over it to go by me, but I wasn't going to let her get away with that.
I was never a violent person and had gotten into very few fights throughout my life but I was no pushover either and this time, I was so upset I could barely register what was happening.
It felt like a reflex, the way my body moved all on its own. One moment I was glaring at her back and the next I'd grabbed a handful of her hair and shoved her forward, slamming her head into the wall.
She lashed out, her long acrylic nails scratching my face, but I barely felt the pain, that's how enraged I was.
She elbowed me in my side which caused me to lose my grip but only for a moment as I regained the upper hand and wrapped both hands around her neck, squeezing tightly until her face went purple. Her nails continued to dig into my arms trying to pry them away as she gasped for air but I never stopped, blood seeped out of the cuts on her neck caused by my own nails and her eyes began to look red.

Still, I didn't stop squeezing until we ended up on the floor, her writhing slowly getting weaker and her eyes bulging.
I thought of all the years of torment I'd endured from this queen bee and squeezed tighter, her eyes now bloodshot and her mouth frothing.
I didn't stop even then, pounding her head into the ground until blood pooled under her and I felt her body go slack. A few seconds later I could no longer feel her pulse. I let go, her head hitting the floor with a dull thud, her lifeless eyes glazed over as a tear escaped, sliding down her pale cheek.
My heart was practically leaping out of my throat and the panic was starting to set in when I came to my senses before I heard screams from downstairs followed by a gunshot.
What the hell is happening right now?

†
The window I found earlier led into a bathroom, I could tell from the moonlight that reflected off the white tiles, and a bit of movement to my left as I advanced to the door turned out to be my reflection in the mirror over the bathroom sink.
Pulling the door open silently I saw the girl I'd been watching earlier enter a room closing the door behind her.
I'd save her for last.
A smirk played on my lips and I headed down the hallway and to the stairs. It was still dark but hardly any problem for me.
Hearing a creak I stopped in my tracks, gripping my crowbar tightly. Someone was coming up. I could hardly resist a chuckle and I timed their footsteps, waiting, back against the wall until they were in sight.
My arm swung out and a loud "thwack" was heard, like a baseball bat coming into contact with a ball as the split end of the crowbar pierced her skull, blood spewing and she made a garbled sound of distress before teetering backwards and fallingp down the steps.
"Oh my gosh, May!"
"May?!"
As her body came to rest on the ground floor two others quickly rushed over to assist. Too bad she was past helping.
I felt so good. Euphoric even, I hadn't felt this good in years. The voices were in a constant state if upheaval, chanting for more.

I was looking forward to the begging my final victim would be doing later. The though of it was already making me even more excited and my blood lust was growing.
I gave the balcony a few taps with the crowbar to get the two people's attention, as I noticed Hoodie making his way toward them from the side, he must've entered from the back of the house.
"Good evening."
"What the fuck? Who the fuck are you?" The lanky teen asked, voice shaking as he got to his feet and took a few steps back.
The girl seemed too shocked to move and only let out a sob followed by, "oh God."
It sickened me.
I tilted my head at the guy who'd asked before letting out a harsh laugh, "Your reckoning."
Before he could run, Hoodie grabbed him by the throat, lifting his flailing body in the air and the girl let out a blood curdling scream that was like music to my ears.
I advanced down the stairs and she scooted backwards on her ass, shaking and sobbing uncontrollably.
"P-please don't kill me!"
A smirk made it's way unto my lips. Oh this was turning out to be an amazing night.
I let my arm hang, the crowbar coming to rest on the ground, the blood of her friend leaving a trail on the wooden floor as I dragged it on my way over, taking slow and torturous steps, watching her eyes grow bigger and bigger as she looked up at me with such fear.
I'd never felt so powerful.
"Keep. Begging."
She quickly tried getting to her feet but wasn't fast enough, I'd already gripped my weapon with both hands and swung it with all my might at her head.
A loud crack erupted as the iron came into contact with her head and she fell flat on her stomach, her body jerking and bucking as she clawed at the floor, perfectly manicured nails now splattered with blood.
"Should have begged some more," I tsked before bringing the crowbar down again and again and again until her features were but an unrecognizable mass of blood and bone.
Too easy, but still fun.
"Four" I said loud enough for Hoodie to hear over the gasping and thrashing of the guy he was choking out, his other hand pulled out a 9mm, pressing it to the guy's stomach.
"Five," Was all he had to say before he pulled the trigger.
He was a man of little words but he did such good work.
"I have some business to take care of upstairs." I dropped the crowbar and cracked my knuckles.
I couldn't tell what Hoodie was thinking but judging from his body language I guessed he was wondering about the others.
"You take care of the other two," I said turning my back, "this last one's gotta be special."
I heard him chuckle as I made my way up and I flashed my hands a bit. I was excited, my body was buzzing with electricity and I was pretty sure my bloodlust was at it's peak.
I couldn't wait to see the look on her pretty little face.
Which room was it again?
Spotting the door I curled my fingers around the knob and pulled it open.
There she was.
She spun around quickly, her eyes wide and her hair wild. Though she was all the way across the dark room, I could tell she was breathing heavily. I could even sense her fear. Had she known all along? Or had she heard the screams— the gunshot?
I took a step forward but before I could speak the closet door behind her creaked open and a body almost fell out but she caught it in time, grunting as she shoved it back in and slammed the closet door shut once again.
I stopped in my tracks, stunned and she turned swiftly, pressing her back against the closet door and let out a nervous laugh.
"HAHA mannequins right?! Th-they can look so life-like sometimes it's kinda crazy."

Rogue Dungeon: A LitRPG Adventure
From James A. Hunter, author of Viridian Gate Online and War God's Mantle! Check out my first attempt at a Dungeon litRPG Novel! Roark von Graf—hedge mage and lesser noble of Traisbin—is one of only a handful of Freedom fighters left, and he knows the Resistance’s days are numbered. Unless they do something drastic … But when a daring plan to unseat the Tyrant King goes awry, Roark finds himself on the run through an interdimensional portal, which strands him in a very unexpected location: an ultra-immersive, fantasy video game called Hearthworld. He can’t log out, his magic is on the fritz, and worst of all, he’s not even human. Now, he’s a low-class, run-of-the-mil Dungeon monster. Some disgusting, blue-skinned creature called a Troll. At least there’s one small silver lining—Roark managed the grab a powerful magic artifact on his way through the portal, and with it he might just be able to save the world after all. Unless, of course, the Tyrant King gets to him first …Hey everyone, so as most of you know, I write books for a living, and I just put this title up on Amazon (and enrolled it in KU). Because KU requires exclusivity as part of their terms of service, I have had to pull the majority of the content from this site. I left the full novel up for as long as possible, so I hope everyone got a chance to read it. If you haven't had a chance to read it in its entirety (sorry!) you can pick it up on Amazon. Thanks again for coming on this journey with me, and I so hope you enjoyed it. The book will be out on Tuesday July 24th. Best, James Hunter
