Having Janhae around with him really did ease his worries if not pushing it away. Spending a week with Jan made him feel so alive and happy. They spend almost everyday talking and catching up with their lives starting from the day they parted ways. By now, Janhae probably knows everything that happened to Singto during the days she was away—from how his milk spilled all over his shirt the day after Janhae left because he wasn't in his right mind till how he was supposedly be taking a break from the team. He, though, didn't have the courage to tell her about Krist—what has been bothering him, what he was thinking and what happened to him during and after the press conference. Janhae, however, could sense that something was off with her bestfriend but she didn't want to squeeze it out from him. She decided to let him take his time and tell her when he's ready. That was all, until she caught Singto staring at the basketball in his hands for a good 20 minutes, barely blinking, then she decided to take the subject into discussion.
It was a dark night, the moon was barely on sight and Singto was on his bed looking at his phone—scrolling whatever it is that was interesting. Janhae had just finished helping Singto's mother in the kitchen so she went to call Singto for dinner. She went in finding Singto on his back on the bed, staring at the ceiling writing invisible words in the air. Leaning at the door frame with her arms crossing over her chest, Janhae observed silently what he was doing.
"You sure you don't have anything to talk to me about?" she voiced out a few minutes later. Singto, who surprisingly still did not realise she was there until she speaks up, jolted up from his bed. Janhae cocks her eyebrow before stepping into the room, gesturing Singto to move so that she could sit on the edge of the bed in front of him. Singto sat up properly and looked at her. He was having a mental war by himself as he stare at her, contemplating whether or not he should talk about it with her.

"I don't really want to push you but you seemed really off lately. I wanted to let you tell me by yourself but you didn't seem to know what is bothering you either." she started when she saw a slight hesitant in Singto's eyes. Singto sighed as he shifted to sit comfortably-grabbing his pillow, putting it on his lap hugging for comfort.
"If I tell you, can you promise me you won't judge me?" Singto's question made Janhae looked at him like he has three heads.
"Have I ever judge you in any situation ever?" she asked as she quirked her brow again. Singto thought for a second before shaking his head.
"No, but this time it might be different.." his words came out soft as he was still not sure if this was a good idea.
"Try me." Janhae replied as she get on the bed properly and sat infront of Singto signing that she was serious about hearing his problems. Singto on the other hand was still fighting with himself. Its not that he couldn't trust Janhae...She is trustworthy, a person Singto could rely on—she's incredible, amazing, perfect and everything good in the world and Singto is more than lucky to have her by his side. He wouldn't trade her for anything in the world. But this is a whole different case. Its something that not everyone can accept and he didn't want Janhae and be grossed out. He didnt think it was wrong, of course, but somebody else would. Its against the nature, he knows that but he too wasn't sure of himself. What more to explain to Janhae about his complicated feelings he was having in his heart and mind right at the time.
"I've been thinking about someone.." he started, then he eyes for Janhae's reaction which was something he expected to received from her.

"That's greatt!! Who is she? Do I know her? Is she cool?" she asked excitedly. Her face brights up until she saw the look on Singto's face. She frowns. "But.....?"
"You see.... that's the problem. the thing is, its not a 'she'....." he said and paused again. This time he didn't eyes for her reaction since he knows she was in a complete shock so he just looked at his pillow, fiddling with the edge of the case.
"Oh.. Alright..And?"
Her words caught Singto by surprise. He looked up to see her calm face. That wasn't what he expected to see.
"You're not surprised?" he asked, not sure of what she was thinking in that little head of hers.
"I am. A little bit. But what is the problem then? I don't get it." she looked at him. Singto wasn't sure what he was supposed to say next because he wasn't expecting this reaction. Few seconds of battle inside his head, he finally finds the words to reply.
"Jan, this is us talking about the possibilities of me liking a guy here. How can you not see THAT as a problem?" his words made Janhae laugh. She was amused and that sure make Singto even more confused than he was already.
"Sing, to be honest, I don't really care. If that makes you happy, I'll support you however I can. Yeah sure, I'm a bit sad because another guy is gonna be taken and there's lesser chance for me to have a cute boyfriend and all but if that makes you happy, you should just follow your heart." she replied making Singto hit his own forehead at her funny remarks. Janhae always makes him feel at ease and he was indeed wrong about her being judgemental in this matter. Janhae again proves herself to be the bestest friend Singto could ever have in his life. They were interrupted by Singto's mother shouting from downstairs calling them to have their dinner. And that night, they spent the whole night again talking about 'the unlucky guy' - which what Janhae prefers to call Krist - and Singto told her everything that happened, not leaving anything behind.

Vast Asleep
The story of Kingard the Binder in the aftermath of Broken This short story is the epilogue of Broken, the second book of the Chronicles of Mother's Gate series. It’s a great follow-up to the novel, a bonus story that adds extra layers but is set apart from the full-length narrative. Vast Asleep follows the story of Kingard, who finds himself caught in a world called Mother's realm, bathed in glowing light but strangely stuck in place. He encounters his greatson Varyan there, and learns that his experiences are likely dreams. As he grows more accustomed to the loving realm around him, Kingard remembers fear and trepidation about the face of the world, and he loses contact with his companion. This story answers the question, Is Kingard really dead? with a tentative no, and new mysteries brewing. It also raises the question, What's happening while he's awake? and includes an excerpt from the sister story Ride Awake, about Kingard's situation with the Colkh'rak. Praise for Tales of the Known World Bookends: Loved it. The difference between the two stories is great! The difference between the epilogue and prologue is astounding. So much light and love in the first story. You feel safe reading it. Healing. The second, so much darkness, pain and despair. The choice of vocabulary is awesome and makes an impact. And this set of short stories ties the two books together so well. -- Dana V. of Texas ★★★★★

PS: This is my first fiction, so I would really appreciate some feedback, since I don't know if it is any good at all. Also, the creator of the cover is winRoot. If you want a good cover or something illustrated, he is a very good artist and will take commisions. I highly recommend him.
