He woke up with a very hard pang in his head. His forehead scrunched and he tried to get up with all the forces left in his body. It came. Again. And it was harder than it used to be. He knew better than to let it get to him. He got up, forcing himself to walk to the bathroom in little steps when he collided right in front of the bathroom door. The last thing he heard was his cellphone ringing before everything turns pitch black.
*****
He opened his eyes, to see himself in a white room. A familiar wire was stuck in his arms and he was wearing a familiar looking gown. He looked around the room until he saw a familiar face sleeping on the couch beside his bed. He sighed.
He called slowly as he saw his mother opens her eyes. He didn't want to be a bother but somehow he did.
"I fainted again, did I?" he asked.
His mother gave him a comfort smile. She nodded but at the same time grabbing his hand, to calm him down.
"Yes. But its nothing serious. You just fainted because you were not resting properly." his mother said and he nodded. He knew better than that but he knows that his mother doesn't want to worry him or anything. He knows the reason wasn't just about 'not-resting-properly' . He knows it better but he choose not to drag the matter further.
"I'm sorry." he grabbed his mother hands and looked into her eyes. His mother shake her head and told him that its fine. Everything was fine. He saw a hint of worry in her eyes that made him feel bad and that she was trying her hardest not to show him that.
"You don't have to be, Sing. Come on. You need a good rest. Sleep." she said and adjust the blanket on his body which he complied without any words. Not even 2 minutes later, Singto was off to dreamland accompanied by his mother's soft singing voice in his ears.

Singto Prachaya was admitted to the hospital.
Is this the reason why Singto Prachaya decided to take a long break?

Singto Prachaya fainted in his parents house in Thailand after a few weeks of coming back.
He stopped scrolling the news feeds and put the phone down with a heavy sigh. It wasn't even a big deal. Why do they have to make it seems like he was going to die? It was just simple faint at home. People with brain concusion always have that. He will never understand how the media thinks. Its just too complicated for his simple mind. He decided not to let the thing bothers his mind so Singto leaned his head to the soft pillow of the hospital's VIP room and started to get lost in his thoughts before going to dreamland.
******
It was 3 days later when Singto went back home. He was expecting to stay longer but apparently his father just wants him to stay home before the situation at the hospital got any worse. After the news got out, some of the reporters started to camp outside the hospital and some of them even got inside to talk to him. They could put him in the VVIP room but it would still disturb the peace of the other patients if the reporters kept on camping outside, waiting for the news. Its not that he minds all of the atttention. Its something he kind of a thing he got used to while living as a star. The thing is that, he did not want the issue to get any worse. He did not want any of the medias to make a story that's not the truth. So he had to stay low and try not to talk to the reporters.
******
Few days later, after staying in bed for a solid 2 days, Singto decided to take a walk and start seeing the world again. He woke up from bed with a hope that his days will get better today.
"Goodmorning!" he sings to both of his parents when he saw them in the kitchen. He has this huge toothy smile that plastered on his face. His parents greeted him the same way as they were happy to see him out the bed again.

"How are you today?" his father asked as Singto took a seat next to him.
"I'm good.. I've been better but I'm ready to start the day." he said happily and mouthed a sweet 'thank you' to his mother when she handed him his honey pancakes.
"Want to come with me to practice? You can help the boys too." his father offered. Singto thought about it for a moment before nodding in agreement. They talk throughout breakfast about random things until they decided to go to school.
**
He heard the shrieking floor when he enters the gym.. Some of the boys were shooting baskets and some were still doing their warm ups. Singto followed suit behind his father and watched the boys gather around them.
"Boys, this is my son, Singto Prachaya. He'll be here watching the practice today and I hope he can help you with a thing or two." the boys stared at Singto in awe, not believing their eyes that the national player was in their smelly gym. It was a dream come true for all the boys. They all welcomed Singto with a big smile and a warm waii.
"Nice to meet you.. I guess you'll be seeing me often here since I don't have anything to do during my break so I hope you don't mind." he said, smiling. The boys was shaking their heads in signs to show that they was even more happy about his presence.
As crazy as it sounds, during the 3 hours practice, none of the boys asked him about the rumour and the news and he really was thankful for that. It wasn't easy to dodge the questions when the principal was asking about it earlier when his father brought him to the office. So it was a relief that he didn't have to encounter one of those moments again for now.
He sat on one of the bleachers, taking bottle of water into his hands. He watched the others playing as the assistant coach giving instructions. He realised is has been a month since he had played basketball. Since he got back, he didn't really go to the mini court they had in the backyard of the house, let alone going to a gym to play. This is actually the first time he got back on his feet and play after what had happened. His doctor still advised him to take it slow, that he's still healing, but at least playing a little won't hurt much, right?
"Sing!" Singto was startled by the voice calling him. He looked up to see his father waving at him asking him to go to them as they were already in a big circle. He quickly put the cap on the bottle back before running towards the big circle.
"We have a big day coming and I really need all of you to stay focus. I don't want any of you to get sick, well at least try not to. If you have any problems, talk to me or coach Guy. Don't just bottle it up and then burst out of nowhere. This is not a place for you to express your anger. Its a place for you to have fun. Take care of your body and health." the coach said and received nods from the boys. Singto stood beside his father with hands on his waist as he was listening carefully. "You wanna say anything?" his father's question came out of the blue and he was a bit surprised. He looked at his father for a few seconds to receive an approval nod before turning to the boys.
"I don't know if I'm in the place to give advice since I hurt myself very badly but I guess I need to say something." he paused and looked at his father. "All I can say is that whatever you do, just have fun. Don't be too focus on the winning part. Have fun in the game and the winning part will come to you like the wind." His eyes went through all the boys' nod of agreement and he felt so proud. He smiled.

Ghostified City
‘Ghostified City’ is a post-dystopian sci-fi tale, set in a fading world that might be a future version of ours, running out on autopilot into oblivion. Adaman Yimmand is a simple robofactory operator in The City who's working with robots and machines every day. He doesn’t even realise that he might not have met another actual human being in years. Everything begins when he breaks his routine for once and enters a bar where he meets Evelith. This pesky other person does not let him go after he has had his -rather terrible- beer, because according to her actual humans are much rarer than he’s aware of. And from then on ‘the genie is out of the bottle and won’t get back in’, to use her words: Adaman meets more people, and gradually he has no choice but to accept that the reality of The City is not what he always thought it was, and to face the darkness of a fading humanity on the brink of self-inflicted extinction. Is there any hope left for him, and for his species? I have selected 'sexual content' and 'traumatising content' to be on the safe side, because there is a stripclub-like venue in the background of the story, and an almost-extinct humanity that has institutionalised suicide which might be disturbing to some. Apart from that it's not really a heavy 'adult' story.('Ghostified City' is my first long story in English as opposed to my native language Dutch, and an earlier version was published on my fiction blog 'Oranderra' until I stopped updating. This is a slightly altered version of the first series.)
