Daisy felt as if her inners were gonna explode from anger. This was the first time someone have ever spoken to her in that tone since she started working.

If not for him being her Ethan, she would have lashed out. Then again who told her to love him. She sighed at the irony of the situation, she felt as if the gods are punishing her for her sins.

She who had always treated people as nothing was getting the same treatment for the first time in her life, and she would have sworn that this was the worst feeling ever.

Taking a deep breathe she took a seat at one of the chairs right beside where Ethan stood leaning against his des," I'm here to discuss about the California project. " she smiled blinking her eyes.

Looking at Ethan's, as he stood staring at her without blinking as if in daze, she inwardly smirked.

She was positive that she would surely take him down, if not, then she would die as a single virgin woman owning a large empire.

" I_ are you here just to discuss about the deal?" he gazed at her intently, for a moment there Daisy felt as if she could see the same emotions playing in his eyes like that of her dream, the same adoration, longing and desire.

Then again, it can't be true, maybe she was seeing things. Maybe she had turned paranoid, love is a dangerous thing indeed.

" What else could it be?" she asked back, controlling all her emotions. Ethan nodded and walked to his desk and took a seat opposite to her.

We can fake our emotions all the time, but it gets hard to control them in front the people we love, all the defenses we have built to protect ourselves from the outside world comes shattering down in front of the person we love.

All the time they worked for, Daisy absentmindedly stared at him as he spoke about the project, he looked a lot more matured and charming. If his younger self was considered as handsome then the matured Ethan would be called as mouth watering.

She stared at him as he clenched his jaw from time to time, and fisted his hands, it was as if he was holding something back. Perhaps he was irritated by her gaze and was wishing to throw her out of his office ASAP.

Daisy chuckled at her own imagination , it was unbelievable to even think of it.

" Are you okay?" Ethan asked, looking at her as if she was mentally retarded," And can you quit it?"

" Uh-huh?" the corner of her mouth twitched at his obvious gaze," Quit what?"

" Quit staring at me, it's annoying." he explained with a bitter face.

" It's your fault, I can't help it." Daisy shrugged feigning defeat.

" My fault?"

" Yes, it's entirely your fault. Who told you to be so handsome and trap me into your beauty trap?" she smiled blinking her eyes.

Her smile widened at his stunned state, his stared wide eyed at her, as if he has heard something very unbelievable.

But the very next second his face turned cold and hard as a stone. It changed in a flash. There was obvious anger in his eyes.

Daisy watched stunned as he closed the file with a thud and said," We will discuss the rest of things in the next meeting, I have things to attend."

Wait, did he just tell her to get going?

Daisy gave a broad smile and gritted out, " Sure, you continue. I will leave."

" Okay" he nodded, looking through his files.

Daisy was so angry that she felt like smashing the same file into his head and cursing our loud.

Rather than anger she felt extremely disappointed and sad, all the confidence which she had before vanished leaving behind only despair.

She wished to go back to her dreams and live with the sweet and smiling Ethan who cared and loved her.

Daisy did not speak a single word as she walked out of the King's followed by Alice. She did not speak when Alice tried to talk to her.

The young woman who always radiated power and confidence felt like a doll who had lost all her hope in living. Alice tried to make a single sound, afraid that she would be implicated in the war between the both of them. She did not know what the reason was but Alice was sure that it was related to Mr. King.

By the look of the situation Alice was sure that her boss was behaving weird, more like a love sick girl. This thought gave her chills.

Alice felt that the people like Mr. King and Daisy were meant to be single forever, it is like that in the novels, right? These workaholic bosses would spend all their lives working their asses off having no time for love and family.

But it was good that her boss had started to finally turn into a human being. If not, then how was she going to make a family with a boss like Daisy always behind her.

She wished that Daisy and Ethan be together and give her a chance to explore the fishes in the sea. After all she had been single for a long time.

When they reached the Knight's headquarters , Daisy went to her former self and immersed herself into work. But she could not focus, her brain always drifter to him. She felt like she was going insane.

Daisy picked up the phone, it displayed Jenna," Hello?"

" Hey, Daisy are you up for drinks tonight. Everyone is gonna be there." Jenna's cheerful voice sounded through the cellphone.

" No, I'm tire..."

" And yes, I forgot to mention. Ethan is also going to be there and I heard he is going to bring a girl along with him." Jenna cut her off," Maybe he has a girlfriend for the first time in his life. It would be fun."

" Wait, what? Come again?" Daisy sat up straight in a lightning speed, all the despair from before vanished replaced by anger.

" I said we let's meet for drinks..."

" NO, what about Ethan bringing girlfriend?" Daisy cut her off mid sentence.

"Oh.. Ethan.. haha....he is going to be bring a girl along with him. Isn't it surprising?" Jenna laughed, there was tinge of gloating in her voice, as if she was saying it intentionally. But Daisy could not bring herself to pay attention on her, she was more concerned about Ethan.

" I'll be there. Send me the the location." Daisy hung up, walking out of her office in a fast pace, scaring the shit out of Alice who was scrolling through her new novel.

" I'm going out, you too pack up and get home." Daisy threw the sentence at Alice and walked into the elevator.

"Ethan, you bastard. How dare you have a girlfriend behind my back? Just you wait and see if I won't sort you out once you get into my hand?" Daisy gritted out with murderous glint in her eyes.

If Alice were to see her, she would have banged her head for thinking about changing her boss.
