《Friends with the Frat》28~ Saving Cora

"We're making Christmas cookies!" Sky squealed and ran into my room. She jumped on top of me causing Bandit to jump too.

I groaned as a foot landed on my stomach. "I'm up I'm up."

"Mommy said we're making Christmas cookies today! She said we could go to the store and get icing."

I blinked the sleep out of my eyes as I processed what she was saying.

"That sounds exciting." I said.

I looked over at the clock. It was nine in morning. Meaning that Carter was asleep and Mom and Dad were either still asleep or sitting in the kitchen waiting for everyone else to get up.

"Let's go to the kitchen and get some breakfast, how does that sound?"

She nodded and ran out of my room. Bandit followed her downstairs. I heard her giggle and it made me smile.

I got up and trudged down the kitchen. Mom was cooking something and it smelled delicious.

"Mhm what's for breakfast?" I asked.

"Eggnog French toast, an Ellis family special. We always had it during the Christmas season."

"It smells amazing." I told her.

"Thank you."

I grabbed a cup and a jug of punch from last night. I put it on the opposite side of Mom.

"Sissy, can I have some too?" Sky asked me.

I smiled and grabbed a cup from the cabinet.

"Can I help?" She asked.

"Well of course" I picked her up and placed her on the counter. I opened the lid of the jug. I held the cups as she poured the punch in the cups. She spilled quite a bit on the table, but for a five year old it wasn't terrible.

"Aw I spilled it" she frowned, her eyes looked like she might cry.

"Hey don't worry. It's just a little bit of punch. We can clean it up." I told her.

I grabbed some paper towels and wiped down the counter and the sides of the cups. I threw away the paper towel and walked back over to Sky.

"See nugget all better now" I said.

She smiled and wrapped her arms around me. "Thank you sissy" she said.

"You're welcome" I laughed. I helped her off of the counter and she ran to go play or something.

"You're such a good big sister. You're going to be a great mother one day." Mom said as she smiled at me.

"If I'm even half as good as you, my kid will turn out just fine." I admitted. It's true. Not everyone can go from mothering one toddler to mothering a toddler, a teenage bogy and a teenage girl.

She walked around the counter and hugged me. "I love you Cora. I really hope you know that. I hope that I show you and tell you enough for you to know that."

"I know it Mom and I love you too."

We hugged for a few more seconds until she had to go back to cooking breakfast. She called Sky and Dad in and we all ate together.

After breakfast, we took Sky to the store to pick out some icing and decorations for her cookies. She picked a bunch of different colors and almost all the sprinkles you could think of.

As she was picking out some candy, I got a call from Chantel.

"Hey girl" I answers as normal.

"I just got called into work. I'm covering for Heidi. I don't have anyone to take care of Beckham. Do you mind if you're not too busy today?" She asked frantically.

"Yeah today's good. Sky is decorating Christmas cookies today. Beckham is more than welcome to hang out until your shift is over." I assured her.

"Thank you so so much. Can you come pick him up at Riley's?" She asked.

"Of course, I'll be there in a few."

"Okay bye" she bid and hung up the phone.

"We are picking up Beck for the day. Chantel is covering a shift." I told Mom.

She nodded. "Okay Sky pick one out and let's go." Mom said.

She picked out some M&Ms and we went on our way. Mom drove us to Riley's. I got out and went inside to get Beck.

"Thank you again for this. It means a lot to me." Chantel hugged me.

"Chan, it's not a big deal alright? Sky and Beck are friends. We don't mind the extra noise." I told her.

She told me a few things and said goodbye to Beck. He was happy to see Sky again, even though they last saw each other last night.

We went back home and got out all of the stuff to make the cookies. While they were in the oven, Beck and Sky made snow angels and a snowman outside.

We called them in once they were done. The smiles on their faces were almost unreal. They were so excited to make messes and they even had a contest on who could make the best cookie. Mom and I were of course the judges.

"I'm gonna make an angel" Sky told Beck.

"I'm gonna make a Christmas tree" he told her.

They're little imaginations were on fire as they spent so long on one cookie. Mom started the hot chocolate a little ways through.

They handed us the finished product. It honestly looked like a Christmas unicorn threw up all over both of the cookies. We both judged them very hard. Mom went first.

"I don't know they're both very good. I think I'm going to go with Beck's cookie."

I looked the the two cookies again. "I agree with Mom they are both very very good. It's hard to choose which one I like more. I think I'm going to pick Sky's cookie." I said.

They both groaned. "It's a tie." They said together in anguish.

"Who wants hot chocolate, and How the Grinch Stole Christmas?" Mom asked.

They both squealed and looked at each other before jumped off the chairs and to the living room.

"I'm gonna go get ready for Nick's party" I told Mom and made my way upstairs.

I put on my makeup first because I planned to wear white. I didn't go all out but I definitely did more than normal. I even put on some red lipstick.

After I was done with that I brushed out my hair. I decided to leave it naturally straight. I moved on to my outfit. I put on a pair of leggings under my jeans and a white sweater. I put on a red plaid scarf. Of course I put on my uggs and I was pretty much ready

I put some jewelry on and went to the bathroom. I checked on my makeup put on deodorant and perfume.

"Cora, are you almost ready? We're leaving soon." Carter called.

"Ready whenever you are." I called back. I went into my room and grabbed my phone and my wallet.

I hopped downstairs to see Beck and Sky asleep together in the couch as How the grinch stole Christmas neared an end.

I smiled at the two and took a picture then I sent it to Chantel. They'd make a cute couple.

"Okay, you ready?" Carter asked. "I'm the DD tonight."

"Bye Mom, bye Dad, we'll be back later." I called and Carter and I left the house.

We arrived at Nicks house and the party was already started. I could almost hear the music pumping when we turned down his street.

"You know Will's gonna be here, right?" Carter asked as he pulled up to the party.

"Yes I know. I just want to have some fun with my friends and have a little drink." I rolled my eyes at him. "I'll just ignore him."

We got our if the car and up to Nick's house. It was loud and I was doubtful that anyone could hear much.

"Hey guys" Nick screamed. He didn't seem as drunk as I thought he'd be by now. "Party time!" He screamed. Maybe I was wrong.

Carter and I walked inside. The music was pumping and people were "dancing" all around us. We pushed our way through. We found our group sitting at a table.

"Hey guys" I yelled over the music.

They turned around. Remi immediately got up and kissed Carter. Logan hugged me and I walked the rounds. I skipped Will. I doubt he would stay the whole time now that I'm here.

"Let me get you a drink" Logan said, before he walked off. I sat next to Remi where Logan was previously sitting.

Will was my opposite. He looked anywhere but at me. It was way more awkward than it needed to be.

At some point we all got up, to dance or find someone or something. Carter, Remi, Logan, and I stayed together.

Logan was on his third drink since I've been here. It's only been a couple hours. He was going to be wasted tonight. He holds his alcohol pretty well.

Carter and Remi went to dance together. As I was watching them, I saw Will dancing with another girl. Some pang of hurt and something I can't place filled my body.

"Let's dance" I told Logan. I ripped the drink out of his hands and put them on a nearby table.

I dragged him along as he stumbled to follow me. I had already had a drink and a half so I was feeling a little tipsy as well.

We danced together but we both stumbled different directions. It was a hot mess. The girls came over and we all started dancing together. It was a lot less awkward and more fun than dancing with Logan.

We danced for a while and I left the circle to grab a drink. Logan followed me. I drank what was left of my drink I left. I was shocked no one grabbed it.

"Shots!" Some girl said and handed me and Logan a shot glass.

We rolled with it and took a shot together. The liquid burned my throat. I don't know what that was.

"Oh that was strong" he said and put a hand to his chest.

"Yeah it was" I agreed with him.

A headache was starting to form in the base of my skull. That meant it was probably time to stop drinking tonight.

"Are you okay?" Logan asked. He slurred his words together a little bit. It wasn't that bad.

"Just a small headache. I'm fine." I assured him. I could still party for a few more hours at most. Whenever Carter wants to leave really.

"Let's get somewhere a little quieter then" he suggested in a slight slur. He seemed pretty sober right now, besides the slur. Surprising for how much alcohol consumed.

I nodded and he stumbled towards the other side of the house. All the bedrooms were back here. Nick likes to keep them pretty closed off.

We opened a door and the room was empty. He shut the door behind him to mute the sound.

We sat on the bed together. It was a lot quieter in here compared to the rest of the house. I laid down, because my head hurt. I shouldn't have taken that shot.

"You know you deserve a lot better than Will." Logan said as he propped himself in a laying position next to me. "You deserve someone who actually cares about you. Someone like me."

"Logan stop we're friends. Nothing more." I said seriously. He's not think straight. He's drunk.

"No Cor I'm serious." He sat up. "I'm so much better than Will." He flipped over me to where he basically straddled me and his hands were on either side of my head.

I used my hand to try to push him. He wouldn't budge. I hardly had any strength compared to him right now.

He leaned down to my ear and whispered, "I probably kiss better than him." He pressed his lips to the area just below my ear.

I tried to push him away but he was strong for being so drunk.

"Logan I'm serious get off of me." I said again. He heart was racing. Why wouldn't he listen.

"I'm serious too. You and I are such a great couple, don't you think? Everyone else thinks so."

The next thing I know the door busted open and someone came in. "I'm pretty sure she said to get off of her." Will's voice made an appearance.

Logan was ripped off of me and punched in the face. He was too drunk to fight back or care.

"Snowflake, are you okay?" Will rushed up to me. I sat up and he sat next to me. I immediately wrapped my arms around his neck.

"I'm here. It's okay. I'm here now" he whispered in my ear and rubbed my back.

Will was here and that's all that mattered to me right now.
