《Friends with the Frat》11~ Project

"How was your weekend? I heard you went to Indiana. That's what Remi told me." Logan asked as we walked to psych class on Monday.
"Yeah, I went to see Will play football. I just got back yesterday."
"Oh?" He said as we turned the corner to Mr. Trody's classroom. "How did he do?"
We walked into the classroom and made our way to our regular seats. "He did good. We weren't sure if he was gonna play, but he went in halfway through the third quarter. He got three good passes and got us some touchdowns. They won"
"Oh that's great." He smiled at me.
Soon the bell rang and the class settled. Mr. Trody walked to the dont of the room ready to start the lesson today.
"Okay class. Today is the start of your first Psychology project. You may pick your partner, but if there's any issues, I will assign you partners."
Logan and I looked at each other and nodded. He was a the only one I really knew and it would be a lot easier. There were football players and cheerleaders in here that I know, but I'm closer with Logan.
He went on to explain the project and what it was about. After he was done, he gave us full range to discuss with our partners.
Logan and I turned to each other and started to discuss our project.
"So what kind of project are you thinking about?" I asked him.
"Well he said to choose something close to home" he started. "Peer pressure? Insomnia?"
"You have insomnia?" I asked him.
He nodded in answer. "Since I was a kid. It's just always been something I've had to deal with" she shrugged.
"Wait that's it!" I exclaimed. "The two types of insomnia. Short-term and long-term insomnia."
"Yeah sounds good to me. It's makes since and I can help fill in the gaps from the research" he said.
"Okay, we'll meet after school to get the basics done" I said.
We agreed for him to come to my house after practice and class ended. We normally went in separate directions for our classes, but he walked with me.
"What are you doing?" I asked with a half laugh.
"Walking you to class. What does it look like?" He said and threw his arm over my shoulder.
I pushed him off. "Go to class you're going to be late if you walk me."
He shook his head and threw his arm back over my shoulder. "Nah I'm good"
"Logan Bailey, get you ass to class before I remove your arm from you body" I stopped and threatened him.
He threw his hands up in surrender. "Okay I'll go, see you later?"
I nodded. "I'll be at practice" I told him.
He nodded and turned on the balls of his feet with a little wave before jogging in the opposite direction. I walked the rest of the way to my class.
Remi was smiling ear to ear. Which is not unnatural with Carter being in this class with us, but it's a different kind of smile.
"Guess what?" She said happily before I could even sit down.

"What?" I laughed and took my seat.
"Isaac is coming back home and he's a little freshman! Isn't he just so old?" She squealed.
I raised my eyebrow at her in confusion. "It's been a month since school started. Shouldn't he have already been here?" I asked.
I assumed he was here but he didn't care about Remi.
"He was at his mom's all summer. He left a week after you did, but she kept him longer than she was supposed to because of some family emergency. Anyway, I just got told he'll be back tonight and tomorrow he'll be coming to school" she explained.
"That's exciting. I'm glad you get to see him again."
She gasped like she remembered something all of a sudden. She looked between me and Carter frantically.
"What's wrong babe?" Carter asked and put a hand on her shoulder comfortingly.
"Y'all are okay if he sits with us at lunch, right?" She asked.
My worried expression vanished and a smile took over my face. Carter sighed in relief.
"Of course he can, Rem." I said.
It was her turn to sigh in relief. "Do you think the guys will be upset if he does?"
Carter shook his head. "No babe, the boys will welcome him with open arms."
"Class if I could direct your attention to the board" Mrs. Holt said and we stopped our conversation and paid attention to whatever she was about to say.

Football practice was almost over and I skipped over to my dad, who was watching the boys intently.
I didn't say anything to break his focus until after the play way over. He yelled orders at the boys and told them to do it again. When he was done, he turned to look at me.
"I was wondering if Logan could come over after practice to work on a project." I said.
"Yeah he can. What project?"
"AP Psych" I answered.
He nodded and went back to watching the boys.
I went back over to my seat in the stands where I just was. I decided to finish the homework I had so I don't have to do it when I got home.
Sooner rather than later football practice ended and I was ready to go home. Logan got out before Dad and Carter. He was spinning his keys around his finger and whistling.
"Logan!" I called out to him. He stopped and turned around. "Can I ride with you? Carter and Dad are taking forever and I really want to go home."
He nodded. "Yeah of course. I have to run by my house for a second though"
"Yeah that's fine."
"Okay" he said and we walked to his truck together. We got in a buckled our seatbelts.
"Where's Liam?" I asked.
"With a friend" he answered.
I nodded at the viable answer.
It wasn't a long drive to his house. We got there in under five minutes. He stopped when he went to pull the keys out of the slot.
"Um I need the keys, do you want to come in? It won't be long I promise." He looked over at me.

I shrugged. "Sure. I don't care" I unbuckled and we got out of the car.
We walked up to his front door. He unlocked it and we walked in.
"Loggy!" A little voice screamed and I heard the scampering of feet.
"Hi Mace" he said as he squatted down. A little girl ran up to him and hugged him.
She looked up at me. She must've been three or four. "Who are you?" She asked in her small voice.
"I'm Cora, Logan's friend" I smiled and bent over to meet her face.
"I'm Macy and I'm free and a quarer" she said. She was a cute little brunette blue-eyed girl just like Logan.
"Wow you're so big" I said. She giggled and turned red.
"Mace, where's Tia and Sean?" He asked.
She shrugged. "Sean had a tinky daper" she waved her hand by her nose in disgust.
"Tia, I'm home!" He called into the house.
A young, dark-skinned woman walked down the stairs with a baby boy on her hip. He also had brunette hair, but unlike the other two he had light brown eyes.
"Okay, he just woke up from his nap and changed his diaper. I have something for your mom when she gets here." She handed him an envelope.
"I'll make sure it gets to her. Go pick your kids up from school" he pointed his thumb to the door.
She transferred Sean to Logan arms. Grabbed her phone and purse and was out the door.
"Sorry my mom should be home any second now then we can go" he said to me.
I shrugged him off. This wasn't bothering me. I really just didn't want to sit outside in the heat any longer.
Macy showed me her room and all her Barbies. Logan played with Sean on her bed while we played Barbies on the floor.
"Logan I'm home!" A woman's voice called from the other side of the house. Macy grabbed my hand and dragged me out of the room. Logan followed behind laughing as he carried Sean.
"Mommy mommy!" Macy squealed. She let go of my hand and jumped into the woman's arms.
"Hi baby" she said and kissed my head. She looked up and acknowledged me. "I'm sorry, who are you?"
"I'm Cora, Logan's friend." I introduced myself and reached my hand out to her. She wearily shook my hand.
"I'm sorry I took so long Mom" Logan said behind me and let Sean down. He crawled over to his mom and reached up for her. She bent down and picked him up.
"You're good. I hear this is your friend." She looked at her son.
"Yeah sorry about that. I was taking her home from practice and I had to stop by here before going to her house. Also we have a project to do so can I stay over there for a while?"
She sighed. "Yeah you can, but when you get home we're talking" she motioned between her and Logan.
"Yes ma'am" he bent over and kissed her cheek. "Love you, bye"
"Love you too, be safe" she called out to him as we walked back out to his car.
We got in the car and he backed out of his driveway silently. He turned off of his street and onto the main road.
"I'm sorry about that. We have a rule not to bring anyone the kids don't know when only one of us is there and the other one doesn't know."
"Oh I'm sorry. I had no idea"
He waved me off. "You're fine. I brought you there. It was my fault." We sat in silence for a little bit. "Shit I forgot to give the envelope to her"
He pulled out his phone and called her. He told her about the envelope and where it was. He said bye and hung up the phone.
By then we were at my house. He pulled up on the curb. Connor's car was sitting in the driveway. I haven't seen him since I left for Indiana.
I jumped out of the car and ran inside. I found him and jumped on his back.
"Hey!" He yelled and supported my weight.
"Guess I'm chopped liver then, huh?" Lena said sarcastically. I jumped off Con and ran into Lena's arms.
"Lens, I missed you so much." I squeezed her head off.
Logan walked in and shut the door that I left open. Logan and Connor bro hugged.
"Lena, this is Logan, he's the quarterback that filled Will's spot. Logan, this is Lena, one of my besties and Con's girlfriend" I introduced.
"Nice to meet you" he smiled and shook her hand.
"Okay we're going to work on our project."
"We're going to look at a few more apartments and eat dinner" Connor said.
I hugged Lena one more time and Con too. They left and we went upstairs at the same time. It was weird that Sky and Harp weren't here. They normally were. Dad and Carter weren't either.
I showed him my room. I sat on my bed and he took a spot at my desk-vanity thing.
We got on our computers and started the outline for the project on a shared document. It was almost an hour later and Sky came bursting into my room.
"Coco!" She squealed and jumped on my bed before tackling me in a hug.
"Hey nugget" I laughed and hugged her back. "How was school?"
"It was good. I learned about rainbows. All the colors and it's made of light." She ranted.
I definitely didn't learn that in kindergarten. "That's so fun" I said. "I'm glad you like it"
"Can you and Logan play with me?" She batted her eyelashes.
"Not now nugget we have a project that we have to work on" I said and tan my hand through her hair.
She jutted her lip out in a pout and opened her big eyes. Logan looked over at me before looking at Sky and back to me.
"Come on Cor, we've been working on the outline for an hour and we have two weeks to work on this project"
I sighed. He was right but I wanted to get a little bit more done. "Alright, we'll play with you"
She squealed and jumped up. She grabbed Logan's hand and dragged him downstairs. I laughed and chased them.
