《Friends with the Frat》7~ Friday Night Lights

I started the day off screaming to the blasting music with Remi as we got ready for school. It was the first football game of senior year and we couldn't be happier. Dad let Remi spend the night for this special occasion.

"I kissed a girl and I liked it. The taste of her cherry chapstick." I screamed.

"I kissed a girl just to try it. I hope my boyfriend don't mind it" Remi added.

We fell into laughter as Remi almost fell over in the bathroom. Once we sobered up, we finished doing our hair and makeup while still singing along to Katy Perry and Taylor swift songs.

"Girls, it's almost time to go!" Carter called from downstairs. He was very impatient this morning. Probably due to the fact he couldn't wait for tonight's game.

We put on our red lipstick and went back to my room to grab our backpacks and phones.

"You look beautiful" Carter told Remi as we walked down the stairs together.

"Thanks bro" I smirked and hit his shoulder as I walked by him. He rolled his eyes at me and wrapped Remi in his arms.

Last year all the guys were over at this time. They woke me up and we ate breakfast together. I'm surprised it didn't happen this year. Especially since it's Carter's senior year.

"Okay let's go, girls" Carter said as he swung his keys around his finger.

"By the way Car, you have a little bit of red there" I gestured to his lips.

He rubbed his lips with the back of his hand immediately. Only a little of the red came off.

Remi and I high-fived and wrapped our arms around each other's shoulders, laughing. We walked out of the house and to Carter's car.

He came out with a wet paper towel and wiped away all the lipstick he got on his lips. We laughed and hopped in the car. The ride to school was the same as always. We were laughing and talking the whole five minutes.

Once we got to school we all went to our meet up spot. It was in the middle of all of our lockers.

"Hey everyone" I said as we walked up.

A various string of heys were heard from the small group.

"Looking good in that uniform Cor" I heard Logan say.

I smiled and kicked my foot up. "Thanks" I laughed.

The warning bell rang and we all went our separate directions. Carter Remi and I going to our first class and the others going to theirs.

Everyone was buzzing with excitement for the game tonight, even the teachers. The day went by quickly and I was so excited for the game.

By the time lunch came around, I could hardly stand to eat I was so excited. The boys worked hard over the summer and Logan's here to prove himself as quarterback.

Speaking of Logan, it was fifteen minutes into lunch and he still wasn't at the table. It was really unusual.

He came in almost thirty minutes into lunch. He only had fifteen more minutes to eat.

"Sorry guys, Liam got into a fight and I had to do damage control with the principal" He explained.

The boys groaned. They knew what this meant. Liam was on the team. He was a freshman. If one player got in trouble, then they all got in trouble. It's one of Dad's rules.

"What?" Logan asked.

"Listen here, Newbie. Our Dad is strict when it comes to his players following the rules." Carter started.

"One player gets in trouble, we all get in trouble." Tommy filled in.

"So whatever coach deems a good punishment for Liam, we all have to do it, no questions asked." Nick said.

Logan looked at the three of them and groaned.

"You mean to tell me, my stupid ass brother just got the whole team in trouble?" He asked unbelievingly.

The three of them nodded. Logan threw his head back and laughed humorlessly. "I knew that stupid mouth of his would get him in trouble. He's gonna get hell for this, isn't he?"

Carter shrugged. "Dad never tells who got in trouble, but more than likely everyone's going to know. So yeah he just raised more hell than he intended." He answered honestly.

"Shit, he's gonna have to worry about me before he worries about anyone else" Logan laughed lightly.

Previous conversations restarted and I noticed Logan wasn't eating. He had a game tonight it wasn't smart not to eat.

"Why aren't you eating?" I asked.

He shrugged. "Not hungry. Plus I don't have much time."

"You have a game tonight, you need to eat, Logan" I reprimanded. "Here take mine." I shoved my food in front of him.

"Cor, you have to eat" he started to protest.

I cut him off with my hand. "No I already ate half of it you haven't eaten. Besides my dad has some granola bars if I get hungry" I argued.

"Give it up man, you're not gonna win this argument" Nick said so casually.

"Or any argument you have with my sister" Carter scoffed.

Logan laughed and Remi wrapped her arms around me. "That's why we love her" she smiled and kissed my cheek. I giggled and leaned into her.

We laughed for the rest of the lunch period. Logan ate my lunch and threw it away for me. He walked with me to our psychology class.

"Will!" I squealed as he answered the phone.

"Hey Snowflake. I can't talk long. I have practice soon." His voice sounded like music to my ears. I sure did miss him.

"That's okay, I just wanted to hear your voice before the game. I promise to update you"

He chuckled. "I can't wait to hear all about it. Call you tonight?" He asked.

A smile spread across my face. "Of course. Talk to you later, I love you"

"Love you too, Cora. I really have to go before I have to run. Bye" he rushed out and hung up on me.

My face fell from its smile as the his voice stopped and I didn't get to hear his laugh. Remi came up beside me and knocked on the window.

I jumped from the initial scare. A smile found it's way back to my face. I grabbed my cheer bag and everything I needed. I hopped out of the car and locked arms with Rem.

"You okay? You looked a little sad before I scared you."

I nodded. "Yeah I'm fine I just for off the phone with Will. I miss him so much. I miss his voice, his hair, his perfect smile, his amber eyes, and his perfectly pink lips, that I'm super jealous of." I laughed tearfully. "I just miss him"

She stopped us and hugged me tight. "I know it's sucks. I couldn't imagine being so far away from Carter."

I chuckled lightly. It only took them forever to confess to each other and now they're inseparable.

"Will misses you just as much as you do him. He misses everyone. You, his friends, his family. I can't tell you how upset Carter is about him being gone, but he's used to it. He had a whole summer to adjust. You adjusted to him being close. It'll come with time, Cor. Promise"

I hugged her again. "Thanks Rem. I needed that." I laughed lightly. She pulled away and wiped the tears from my face.

"Now let's go get that pretty face of yours all cleaned up" she said and we laughed on our way to the bathroom.

We got back to the field and everyone was pretty much here. The game would start in ten minutes. Which means we need to get stretched.

They did all the pregame activities and the opposite team got the ball. We cheered the whole game and had a blast with our new stunt groups. I still flew and Remi was still my base.

"Throw it Bailey, Carter's wide open" Dad yelled at him from the sideline.

He listened and threw the ball to Carter. Carter went to run the ball the rest of the way to the end zone and got tackled about ten yards away.

We cheered for the first down and the players wants for their next play. This play is the one where Logan run the ball to the end zone and since we're ten yards away it should work out in their favor.

The ball was snapped and faked to the running back. When Logan had a break he ran for the end zone and scored. The crowd erupted in cheers. The band played the fight song and we danced to it.

The game had two minutes left. The opposite team was only one touchdown away from tying with us. We got the 2-point conversion giving us a eight point lead.

Our crowd went half silent as we waited for the ball to snap and the other team to score. Our team put up a hell of a fight but the quarterback threw it into the end zone and their wide receiver caught it in the end zone.

There were ten seconds left in the game and the 2-point conversion would make us tie. Our stands were quiet as their extra point attempt started. The ball was snapped and their 2-point conversion was no good.

Our stands cheered as the boys ran to the field with the rest of the team. I laughed as Remi hugged me.

The boys went through the line telling the other team good game. Then they prayed in the center of the field as one big group. The fans poured on to the field for the time being. Sky found me pretty quickly.

"Cora!" Sky squealed as she ran up to me. When she was at me feet, I picked her up and put her on my hip.

"Hey nugget, did you watch the game?" I asked with a smile.

She nodded with a big smile on her face. "I saw you cheer. I want to be just like you when I grow up" she said cutely.

My heart melted at her statement. "Thanks nugget" I tickled her tummy.

"Skylar Paige Ellis! I told you to stay close to me." Harper scolded as she walked up to us.

"Sorry mommy" she hung her head a little bit.

"It's okay you just scared me." She said. "Hey sweetie, you did great out there tonight." Harper turned to me and hugged me.

"Thanks Harper. Let's go find the boys" I said and we made our way out to the field. Harper saw Dad first and she ran up and hugged him. They shared a kiss and Sky covered her eyes.

He hugged me and Sky and kissed us on the head. I gave Sky to her mama and made my way to find Carter and the boys.

Carter was busy kissing Remi when I found them so I hugged the Nick and Tommy.

"Good job out there tonight boys" I said. "And to you Mr. quarterback. I thought my dad was about to wring your neck if you didn't throw that ball" I laughed and hugged him.

"What about me sis? Wasn't that the best catch you've ever seen?" Carter said practically tackling me in a hug.

I shrugged. "It was okay. You could've made a touchdown" I said nonchalantly.

"Oh really?" He tickled me and I squealed trying to push him off. "Say I'm the best. Say it" he teased as he tickled me.

"I'm the best" I teased. He tickled me even more. "Okay okay. You're the best."

"Who is?"

"Carter Maverick Barnes" I squealed. He stopped tickling me and allowed me to catch my breath.

Our friends were all laughing at the exchange that just happened.

"So victory party at my house, who's down?" Nick said.

We all agreed with a cheer.

"Let me just go tell Dad. I'll be right back" I walked over to Dad and made sure it was okay. He reminded me of the rules and this time I was going to keep to them.

I walked back over to the group. "Let's go" I squealed.

They spread the word of the party as I got back and everyone said they were gonna come. I kind of feel bad because Nick's house was about to get trashed. We were probably all gonna come back tomorrow or spend the night to help clean up.

We drove to Nick's house and decided to all spend the night so we could drink in victory without a care in the world. The boys changed out of their gross game clothes at the locker rooms but Remi and I were in our cheer uniforms.

"Carter, you're the DJ, you have the best playlist. Logan, Tommy, move furniture out of the way. Girls, help me with drinks in the kitchen."

We all did our jobs and by the time everyone showed up the music was playing and we were already drinking. Lots of people brought their own drinks.

The party was fun I've had more drinks than I usually would. I felt happy in the moment.

"Hiii Tommy!!!" I giggled when I saw him with a random girl.

"Whoa Coco, are you good?" He laughed as I almost fell into him.

I giggled. "I'm fine silly" I shoved his shoulder lightly. "Just having a little bit of fun."

"Okay, be careful Cora" he walked away with the girl.

I walked to the kitchen for another drink. I ran into someone. A smile spread across my face as I saw Logan.

"Loggy" I giggled.

"Hi Cora" he laughed.

Suddenly I felt a buzzing from somewhere. "Wow, I'm buzzing. That's so cool"

"That's your phone Cora" he grabbed my phone from my pocket and handed it to me.

"Oh look it's my boyfriend!" I squealed and answered the call. Logan walked away. "Hi baby" I giggled.

"Cora?" He asked. "Cora, I can't hear you. Where are you?"

"I'm at a party" I yelled and burst into a fit of giggles.

"Are you drunk?"

"Probably" I giggled.

He sighed. "Where's Carter? You need to find Carter."

"Okay I'll find Carter. He's probably on the dance floor. Oh I wanna dance. Dancing sounds fun" I squealed.

"No! No dancing Cora. You need to find some crackers to eat or something. Stay where you are, I'll call Carter." I did as I was told and stayed exactly where I was. I didn't move a muscle.

Carter walked into the kitchen a few minutes later. "Cora, are you okay? Will called me."

"He told me to stay here so I did." I giggled. He began to search through the cabinets.

"Here eat some of these and drink this." He tried to hand me crackers and Gatorade.

"No Will told me not to move. I can't move." I giggled.

He threw his head back. "God Cora, how much did you drink?"

"A lot"

"Will told me you could move. Come on we have to get you somewhere safe."

"Okay" I giggled.

He took me to a room and I ate the crackers and drank the Gatorade I started to feel a little bit better.

"Cora, why don't you stay here for tonight? I'll come check on you later okay?" He said.

I nodded. Suddenly the effect of the alcohol began wearing off and I felt very tired. He kissed my head and left the room.

I finished my crackers and Gatorade and felt my eyes get heavy and before I knew it I was asleep.
