i spent my christmas with jinwoo. and now it was new year's eve. we were at a party thrown by minhyuk, jinwoo claimed that he needed to see everyone again to show he was still alive.
the tv was playing the new year's party in new york. everyone was partying and dancing and drinking, waiting for the ball to drop. i refused to drink any alcohol because i knew jinwoo would drink, and i would need to drive him home.
"myungie, you should try this. it's really good~" jinwoo slurred. his breath didn't reak of alcohol though. it smelled of mint, which was weird. i then saw the gum sticking out of his pocket, and knew that even though he was drunk, he still remembered how much i hated the smell of alcohol.
"i'm sorry, jinwoo, but i won't drink tonight. i need to drive you home after this," i replied back, sweetly. he just grunted, and then grabbed my hand and proceeded to drag me into the main room. everyone was intently watching the screen, and counting down the last minute.
jinwoo turned to me and there was a look in his eye. of longing. i didn't understand though, until he started talking.
"myungie, what would you do if i kissed you right now?"
before i could process what he said, i heard everyone count from 5, and he leaned closer. he looked at my lips and i looked at his.

and his lips crashed into mine. this was it. this is the moment i've been wanting since freshman year. sure, i pictured it to be romantic, and not in a crowd of drunk teens, but it was good enough for me. it wasn't as sloppy as i thought it would be. jinwoo's lips fit perfectly with mine. we moved in sync.

we parted to catch our breath. jinwoo looked elated.
"myungie, baby, let's go home." he told me.

i looked over to the clock. it read 3:47 a.m.
i looked back at myungjun. he looked so peaceful. thought back to the events after the party.
myungjun was driving me home. i can't think of what else happened. and then i realized. i just kissed him. i looked over at him and he was smiling and humming to the song on the radio. he looked so happy. did i do that? does he actually like me?
"jinwoo, it's not nice to stare. what's wrong?" myungjun interrupted my thoughts.
"o-oh, uuhhh nothing...actually, something. did you like when i kissed you?" i replied unsteadily. myungjun was already in my driveway, and he parked the car to look me in the eye.
"i should probably go ahead and say this now. jinwoo, you are the most amazing person i've ever met. you're brilliant, funny, creative, talented, and ever so kind to me. i can't get enough of you. honestly, that kiss was the most amazing thing to ever happen to me. if i could always have that with you, and be able to say i'm yours, and to be able to hug you and kiss you when i want, i would be satisfied with life."
"well then, myungie, you're in luck, because i was thinking the same thing. so, will you be my boyfriend?" i asked. he looked like he was about to cry. he was quick to nod his head yes, and i leaned over to kiss him again before getting out my keys to go unlock the front door.
god, he was perfect. finally, it seems like my life is starting to turn for the better. and i know he'll be there for it. forever and always.
because i knew, we were two people, destined for each other,

Demons Don't Lie
Algier, average human and recent convict, has committed the gravest sin of all: demon slaying. His fate? To participate in the Culling, a battle-royale style tournament that’s televised live to the world, where all the worst criminals go to die. As with all tournaments, a prize is on the line. If Algier survives, he can have any wish granted by the Marquises, the new rulers of Earth following the demons’ invasion. However, there’s little hope for survival in a tournament designed to have demons do the work of the executioner, especially for a human. Demons are stronger, faster, wiser, and more talented than the average human, and, despite his crime, Algier is no demon hunter. Mentally defeated before the tournament even begins, Algier is torn between becoming another demon’s points and fighting on in his dead mother’s legacy. But should he choose to fight, there is one advantage that Algier has that can tip the odds in his favour: Demons don’t lie, but humans can. How to read this story Demons Don't Lie is written from the perspective of an unreliable (lying) narrator. There are many inconsistencies within the story which are placed there intentionally. It's up to the reader to decide what is the truth and what is the lie. Promotion Full quality cover image

The infernal plane… an endless expanse of scorched land inhabited by countless monsters. Many controversies surround these strange creatures; however, one thing is clear. They are evil. Follow Allen, as he fights against all odds to escape a place never meant to be touched by humans. This is my first original story, and I’d greatly appreciate any constructive feedback.
