《SECOND TRIAL | tk | ✓》29. ASTOUND

"you should dress more expensive, joonie" seokjin assess the alpha at the door with a disapproving look.
"just let me buy you nice things" he adds while lounging on the plush chair by the window, abandoning his laptop in favor of focusing on namjoon.
"there is no need for that, hyungnim" namjoon says solemnly, albeit feeling self conscious under the mafia leaders scrutinizing gaze.
"you sure? i can get you anything" seokjin adds, tempting, a bit sultry while standing up from his place, the peach blush of his long robe gliding along with him.
he sees the way namjoons eyes waver.
"what is it, joonie. tell hyungnim" the beta beckons as he rounds up closer enough to get a whiff of the alphas scent.
"i- i want-" namjoon hesitates and seokjin takes much joy in the meekness in the others face; namjoon is like an overgrown puppy sometimes.
"i want my job back" it came out of namjoon so strained, as if he is ashamed of himself for asking it.
seokjin laughs then- elegant neck thrown back and eyes sparkling.
"out of all the things-" the beta shakes his head,
"whats so special about your job hm? i can get you a new apartment, more money? anything-- isn't that all much better, alpha?" seokjin beckons.
"i dont want any of that. just my job-" the alpha strains, almost painfully.
"and you think i'm capable of getting your job back?" the mafia leader prodes.
"you're powerful enough for that" namjoon states as a matter of fact, trying so hard to not flinch everytime the others elegant fingers glide up his torso.
"poweful? hm i like that" seokjin smirks.
"what else do you think of me?" the betas eyes twinkles.
cruel? heartless? feared? a little lost? craves for love? seokjin was both extremes, funnily like Odin; one can be the god of inspiration and wisdom as well as betrayal and death.
namjoon could add all of it, but he couldn't voice that all out. instead he hesitates, sweat already building up in his forehead.
"do you think i'm beautiful, joonie?" seokjin leans his weight on the other.
there it is again; that one face seokjin only opens infront of namjoon; a little bit of vulnerability, an yearning thats instinctual- to be coddled, to be praised, to be cared for.
maybe thats all the things seokjin sacrificed for this life; the life he lives ruling over everyone.
"you know you are" namjoon said a bit breathless, his eyes lingering on the others face.
seokjin seemed pleased with that, a smirk tugging at the ends of his lips as he giggles,

and just like the little window of vulnerability closes again.
seokjins walks back to his laptop then.
"get ready to catch the bad boys from next week" seokjin then says and namjoon visibly sags in relief.
"afterall its hot to see you in a police uniform" seokjin adds as he takes a seat, the robe slipping away to the side as he crosses his leg enough to expose milky white legs.
namjoon goes a little red in the face then.
"--you the good cop and me the bad mafia guy. so cliché" seokjin shakes his head at his own thoughts over a laugh, as he points his fingers at the door, namjoon scurrying away with a relieved sigh later.

jungkooks hands were unforgiving on taehyung; the rough terrain of others palm like lava on the omegas wrist.
taehyung knew he is going to regret everything about the day, when jungkook had dragged him into a different corridor rather than the elevator up to their floor they usually take.
his protests and pleas were fruitless,
and his feets dragged along the steps down to the basement along with jungkooks pace.
it was considerably dim lit in the dark spacious room; unpainted walls, grime smells, and so much eerie darkness that taehyungs protective instincts cowered at the signs of danger.
the room had two other people; a man tied on a chair and there on the side was hoseok, his hands bearing a wooden bat on which taehyung belatedly realized were blood splatters.
the ends of the omegas linen trousers dragged along the dirty floors until jungkooks hand eased the grip on his wrist.
alongwith the hammering of his heart, taehyungs frantic eyes scuttled across the room until it again struck on the man tied on the chair.
a gasp fell from his lips when he realized the strangers condition; there were blood dripping from his lips, fingers twisted in odd directions, the rope painfully digging into the flesh and barely consious eyes delirious.
taehyung wanted nothing more than to run away from there and bury himself in his nest.
"the kims" hoseok had then said, his icy voice a knife through the silence when his eyes met jungkooks and he had swinged his bat again, it landing on the strangers knee with a sickening crunch followed by pained gurgles and more blood oozing out of the mans lips.
taehyung momentarily screws his eyes shut, hands circling his own middle, disgusted and scared; the sights were enough to haunt his sleep for days.
"hear that, pup?" jungkook then calls back mockingly as he walks further to circle around the chair,

"-your belowed scum of a father send him as a mole" the alpha elaborates and taehyung shudders at the viciousness in the voice.
"what should we do with him hm? you decide" jungkook rounds around the chair until he is close to taehyung again, voice sickly sweet and hands delicate on taehyungs chin.
the omega refused to even look up from the floor, let alone answer the alpha.
"hmm-- i will give you options then-- lets either kill him or his family. both will hurt the same" jungkook recites it with so much easiness as if he is asking taehyung to choose between two candies.
the man tied on the chair makes pathetic gargled noises then,
"d-dont touch my kids-- n-not them-- pl-please dont--" he sobs out even as his head lolled with the effort,
and taehyung, he shudders, a whimper lodged in his throat and hands clammy were they're around his tummy.
but jungkook just laughs.
"come on, pup. its your choice"
taehyung remains silent.
"Choose or I will have him and his family cut into shreds right infront of your eyes" jungkooks voice booms across the four walls of the basement and taehyungs knees shivers.
he is not a stranger to this.
back in the kim household, when taehyung was still a wobbling teenager just out his crutches, kyungjae used to make his three sons watch him question and torture his betrayers.
those faceless people still intrude his sleep.
"-not the family" taehyung had whispered out then.
"good pup. so obedient for me" jungkook praises as his hand soothes over the omegas hair.
then when jungkook had turned back, the stranger on the chair was shaking and sobbing.
"--let me talk to 'em one l-last time-- please just once-" the man heaves as jungkook takes a gun from hoseoks holster.
the man continues with his pleads and blabberings even as jungkook cocks the gun.
but before he can point it, there were two arms hugging him at the middle.
"let him have a call, alpha"
taehyungs eyes were wide, lips wobbling, looking so vulnerable as he pleaded. he willed his scent to clear enough to push up the pregnancy scents; jungkooks nostrils had twitched clearly affected.
taehyung wanted no one else to go away like his mother did. they had never gave her a chance...
"please, alpha" his one hand had left jungkook to splay over his own tummy and taehyung cant even bring himself to feel remorse for using his unborn pups to waver jungkook.
a few more hiccups from taehyung, later with jungkooks permission hoseok made the call.
the man had spitted out all the blood by the time the phone was picked; the voice of an elegant lady greeted him as "yeobo" and complained on how he didn't come home last night, followed by little sounds in the background calling for the "appa".
taehyungs whole body shook as tears rolled down his face and he tuned out the conversation, hands ironically still clutched onto jungkook for support.
when the call had ended and a gun shot resonated across the room, taehyungs legs had given out under him.
but jungkooks hand held him up and scooped him in the arms as the alpha walked out of the basement,
"its okay. you did good for alpha" jungkook murmured,
"dont stress now. it wont be good for the pups--" taehyung heard but was too incoherent to respond.
taehyungs panic seized a bit by the time he was lowered into the familiar texture and scents of his nest.
he breathed in lungful of calming scents- his own and jungkooks- to calm down his shivering body.
jungkooks fingers had came up to wipe away the tears that rolled down pale pink cheeks and out of instinct, he leaned down and placed a kiss on taehyungs forehead.
even if he himself is the reason of distress, his alpha wouldn't stop clawing at him until his pregnant omega is calm.
"were you scared, pup?" jungkook asks just as taehyung opened his eyes, while the alphas hands were still soothingly rubbing at his sides.
the omega had shook his head, no.
jungkook laughed then.
"i just killed someone infront of you" jungkook reminded the other again.
was he proud? not really.
but, thats all he knows.
unlike others or taehyung, 'hurting' is the only thing he was ever taught and he learned diligently.
but, there is hurting oneself and that is self destruction,
like when jungkooks insides quiver in rhythm to his husbands distress.
still jungkook cant help it, because darkness is all he knows.
taehyungs face was blank for a second, eyes void and scent souring back several notches,
" 's ok. i have killed people too"
he had responded with an eerie calmness.
and for the first time taehyung saw the smugness wiped off jungkooks face, it replaced by astound.

8 112All Stats Random
Un-reality, the greatest game in the century just launched and Chris starts to play it. He wants to change his circumstances, which are through no fault of his own. But fate doesn't let it be that simple. He gets a hidden unique class, but that class has a special ability, one that randomizes all his stats whenever it wants? What? The world truly can't be fair to him. Not even in a game. Now he has to figure out a way to make this odd quirk of his class work. When he smiles, the world loves him. When he laughs, the world fears him. (and that was my stab at trying to imitate those chinese synopses) Regular chapters, once or twice per week. On the weekends usually. I will finish this novel, be it takes 1 year or 2. It will get a proper ending. Afterall, the ending is paramount. Also, the readers might feel rewarded if they look closely while reading. I try to be quite mindful and put in interesting details or things that would come into play later. And, personally i think that reviews on this site might as well be pointless. Unless you know the reviewer and think that you share his views. Your thoughts on a particular thing (like a novel) can differ from others. So, do give it a try before arbitrarily deciding. This is my try to perfect the 'master of all/everything' type of MC, inside a proper, realistic VR world, from a game design perspective and immersion and no convenient 'convert gold to irl currency' button. It is going to be a game first of all. Not a fantasy world overloaden with status screens and skills you can't possibly keep track of. A game with all of the real world aspects to it. Not a cheap fantasy world with shoehorned in stats.
