《SECOND TRIAL | tk | ✓》28. MIRAGE

taehyung decided to go with linen today.
though he isn't a big fan of the dirty white color, sadly thats the only trousers he has left that would fit his seemingly widening hips and thighs.
"maybe i should have ordered the clothes a size or two ahead" he was internally lamenting at the way the majority of the clothes he purchased online doesn't fit him anymore.
the omega still had his head pocked inside his small part of the walk in closet, trying to find any top to go by the flowy bottom.
thankfully he managed to salvage a similar beige crop top amidst the pile of sweaters he now owns.
heaving out a deep sigh, he turned around only to come to face with a very broad muscular back.
now, taehyung had barely ever got the pleasure to see jungkook with lack of clothing; like when he walks out of shower with a towel wrapped around his hips after he forgets to take his clothes with him.
even when the alpha used to fuck him, jungkook preferred his clothes to be on most of the times.
so its kind of like a clash for taehyungs brain everytime he sees jungkooks bare skin.
jungkook was busy choosing the shade of black he would be wearing today to work, while the omegas eyes briefly flitted on the eagle wings tattoo that draped from the others shoulder down to the top of his spine, before taehyung shimmied out of the narrow closet.
he shook his head to get rid of the alphas musky scent that seems to cloud him, courtesy of the pregnant omega senses that constantly weep for his alpha, taehyung bounds to the bathroom to get ready before jungkook decides to leave without him.
he took a quick shower, then working himself into the clothes, a hurried combing through the hair and securing few strands with a bobby pin- he was ready for the day.
he waits by the door and shuffles after the alpha who doesn't even glance after him, too busy talking on his phone to care about anything else.
the drive to starlight felt too short considering how hazardously jungkook drives; its as if he is trying to save every second to work more.
the alpha who had steadily ignored his presence as of till now had a hand on the small of taehyungs back as he steered him into the building.
every single person they pass by would bow a ninety towards jungkook and then will take a surprised glance at taehyung. the omega would inturn offer a wry smile and sometimes a small " 'morning" or "hi" squeaked out at the multiple heads curiously peeking out of the cabins.

much unsurprisingly, there wasn't anything interesting about being in jungkooks office.
it was a mix of blands, greys and whites, too much files, cupboards, charts and couches facing the glass wall that had a view of the city.
the couches were his favorite spot so far.
taehyung had dragged one spongy cushion to the floor, closer to the window; occasionally taking glances back to see if jungkook is displeased. but turns out the alpha was far too busy to care.
so taehyung sat his bum on the cushion and stared out at the street where tiny humans were going about with their life, then the sky and the numerous immobile buildings.
occasionally he glances back at the alpha; jungkook had taken his coat off, it neatly drapped on the chair now as he read files or attended online meetings.
sometimes employees or his assistant would come inside with files to be verified, only to get harshly screamed at the face.
taehyung pitied them; they must be in that much need of money to be working under jeons like this.
when the omega got bored of the view outside, he stood up and paddled around the room.
his nesting instincts were over the roof, possibly because his omega is now anticipating for two pups; everything misplaced would irk him.
so he went about correcting the alignment of different things; the vase, the misaligned chair, a slightly bent chart, a few files.
seeing it all now perfect made him fuzzy, content in a sorts and before he knew, he himself was trying to drag away the couch to be perfectly parallel to the wall.
"what are you doing?"
the sudden voice had taehyung standing upright, innocently meeting jungkooks inquisitive gaze.
" i just-- it wasn't right-" taehyung started, quite not knowing how to explain his own behavior.
"dont dare start making one of your annoying nests in my office too"
that was jungkooks final verdict and taehyung sulked by the couch for it.
by noon, jungkook was in the process of screaming out his frustration at an intern; the poor omega girl shaking on her knees so much that taehyung felt sorry for her.
besides taehyung was very much hungry too, it having being past the time for his lunch.
" 'm hungry" taehyung had mumbled as he padded towards jungkooks table, then stopping short only to play with the end of his top out of nervousness.
the omega knew jungkook wouldn't probably deny him food, considerate of the pups. but still no one can never predict the alphas mood swings.

jungkook momentarily stopped his firing at the intern to glance at him, then took the telephone on the table and punched in numbers before pushing it towards taehyung.
"hello mr.jeon, what would you like to order?" jungkook had put it on speaker.
the alphas hand then came up to taehyungs waist, mindlessly playing with the empty belt loops and occasional gliding over the skin of his waist as he scrutinized him.
taehyung took one glance at jungkook, fidgeting, before mumbling out orders for black bean noodles and corn dogs.
after a filling meal, taehyung curled up on the couch, taking a much needed nap until jungkook not so gently woke him up, declaring a- "get up, we're leaving".
it was not yet the closing time, so employees were still littered around the floor as taehyung padded after jungkook, eyes still droopy from sleep, lips pouty and the bobby pin awkwardly sticking out of his mess of a hair.
he hurried with his steps until his nose picked up the fresh smells of baked good and strawberries.
now, taehyungs been craving for strawberries quite a few days now, but he never really got desserts with his meals.
so, it was as if in autopilot as his now awakened senses made him move to an adjacent bakery.
by the time jungkook noticed the absence of the omega behind him, taehyung had already crossed the road.
"taehyung!" the alpha growled away and heads of multiple people walking around turned at the alphas tone.
in public jeon jungkook as the ceo of 'starlight' has an image to maintain and dragging his husband into the car by hair wont suit it very well.
so willing his scent to level up, jungkook followed after taehyung.
inside the bakery, taehyung already had his face plastered against the glass shelf as he looked at the desserts with sparkling eyes.
"can i have a strawberry souffle, please" the omega had asked excitedly.
"of course, sweetheart. aren't you such a cutie!" the women behind the counter cooed as he motioned taehyung to take a seat.
eventhough taehyung felt jungkooks presence, he didn't dare face the other. he will take the beatings or whatever after he subdued his strawberry crave.
"have it packed" jungkook interrupted and the women nodded, but with a wry smile at the alphas demeanor.
taehyung fidgeted the whole time he got the parcel and jungkook paid. later the alpha had steered him out, now with a firm hand on taehyungs waist.
"...now you think you can go around and get things on your own? without my permission?.." jungkooks hand kept on tightening around taehyungs waist as they crossed the road with the alpha muttering under his breath the whole time.
as they reached the car, now both of them perfectly shielded from the outside world, jungkook had not so delicately pushed taehyung into the front seat.
"you are only supposed to obey me like a good bitch" jungkook gritted as his hands gripped taehyungs delicate jaw.
"what you eat, where you go, the pups growing inside you- its all my decision" jungkook asserted as his grip tightened and taehyung winced.
"was it really your decision?" taehyungs voice was muffled from the hand on his jaw, nevertheless it was spiteful.
"the pups, the contract- was that all your decisions?" taehyungs teary eyes were fearce with anger; be it hormones or his own frustration, he kept on speaking.
jungkooks eyebrows pinched.
was that all really jungkooks decision?
"you're the one who is doing all the 'obeying' here. you're just an obedient little alpha for your hyung-"
taehyung was interrupted by jungkooks feral growl.
the hand on taehyungs jaw withdrawed only to wrap around the slender neck until taehyung cant speak instead only wheeze for breath.
"Stop talking" jungkook spitted out, eyes red in anger.
taehyung knew he hit a nerve then; he knew it was a beautiful mirage of jungkook that he believed he is the one who rules here.
but the truth was that he was always never equal, but below the jeon seokjin- always the obedient little brother to serve his hyung.
"you really think so, pup? i will show you what i'm capable of" jungkook sneared out over a smirk as he fully pushed taehyung in and closed the car door.
even when jungkook got in on the drivers seat and the car started moving, taehyung was still wheezing, panting against the car window, heaving to fill his lungs.
at that moment, the omega didn't knew if he should be proud of himself or fear for whats to come.

Teddy Bear
As it would stand, the truth of the matter was that aliens had visited Earth before. Roswell was neither a hoax nor unique. It was simply a consequence of a world growing smaller as communication systems became more and more advanced, partly a result of said visitations. For the most part, past interactions between one of the planet Earth's more intelligent species of lifeform and the alien visitors were along the lines of obscure scientific surveys and tests disturbingly similar to attempts by some human scientists to estimate the intelligence of simians. For any species capable of travelling the stars. Visiting planet Earth made about as much sense as backpacking through the Ural Mountains of Siberia with nothing but a flint and a compass. That is to say, most people would prefer to stay close to someplace within walking distance of a mall or a population density slightly higher than four sapient beings per parsec. Still, statistically speaking, there are bound to be some weirdos who find joy rides though a nowhere solar system fun. Just buzzing a frantic farmer or two and playing chicken with an F-16 for the heck of it. Maybe even bring home a bovine to show off to the guys at the office.
