that day taehyung woke up to an acrid taste on his tongue and a splitting headache, more or less disoriented and smelling like dried up sweat.
over the wonderfully unpleasant ache all over, he just layed in the bed, breathing through his nose and waiting for his vision to stop spinning.
somewhere at the back of his mind, there is this nagging thought that he is forgetting something important.
just heaving himself off the bed felt like a laborious task, and somehow taehyung managed to drag himself to the bathroom sink and splashed cold water all over his face.
and then he remembered it.
its his wedding day.
how wonderful! taehyung wanted to bury himself.
on reaching back in his room, the wall clock had read 4:03 am.
he's got six hours more now.
the bud of the swirling anxiety in him started to show up and taehyung closed his eyes.
he is too tired to go through that again.
just the last night, it hit him like a truck- the fucked up reality of his life- the past, the future.
and it had ended with one of his anxiety episodes- him ending up throwing up in the bathroom and rest of the night shaking, shivering and heaving for breaths in between tears.
now laying eyes closed, sleep nowhere near eventhough he has been awake for 32 hours, taehyung thinks of happiness.
happiness was that time he ran through the sand in the beach- not running away- but laughing.
he remember his mother's smile, her telling him to be careful,
and his little feet, making dents in the sand had ran back and forth with the waves hitting the shore, happiness filling his heart to the brim.
this was nice to think about,
the happiness.
"you must survive, taehyung-ah"
right at 7 am, people started filling in- them fussing over taehyungs dark circles and horrible appearance- pushing him to the shower- scrubbing, shaving and washing him up to resemble a living being again.

now fresh and cold, he sat still as they applied cosmetics and what not all over his face.
taehyung wishfully remembers that it was his usual time for breakfast with jimin before college. today no one gave him breakfast and taehyung didn't bother to ask.
he stayed still like a doll when they pulled on the designer white suit and accessories on him.
by 9 am he was ready,
looking beautifully so.
taehyung thinks this is the most beautiful he has ever looked- he looked so innocent, so fragile.
funny how he used to dream about his wedding day- that he will one day marry someone who'll love and cherish him and build a family, a happy family.
he shouldn't have dreamed so much.
the things that happened next weren't any worth remembering too.
there was no one to tell him how beautiful he looks, no one to support him, no one who'll miss him.
when he walked down the aisle along side his father, flashes of cameras blinding him, taehyung didn't even looked straight.
along the wedding vows that he automatically uttered, the only phrase that he registered was,
"till death do us part"
how ironic.
taehyung wanted to laugh, hysterically so, at all the people gathered for his wedding, to gave their blessings for their beautiful future ahead, taehyung wanted to laugh at their faces.
but the omega just looked dead as ever.
"you may kiss your husband" the minister had said.
and taehyung felt a cold hand on his face, gently tilting it up.
taehyung saw his husband's face- hair slicked back and truthfully handsome,
jungkook had leaned down placing a kiss on top of his lips, and taehyung let him.
he heard cheers going on about and more camera flashes.
he is married now.
he is a jeon now.
he is jeon taehyung now.
the third surname he has got in his short life, the third role he is going to play, just another miserable chapter of his life.

with the hold of his husband's hand on his waist, the rest of the ceremony went on.
they cut the cake together,
jungkook feeding taehyung a piece with a tender smile.
for an instance taehyung wished to forget everything and imagine this to be normal,
that jungkook is the love of his life and this is his dream wedding,
that their life would be so happy ahead.
how nice would that be?!
they shared a dance together, short and slow, just to please the people around, just to make them believe this is real.
"atleast give a fake smile" jungkook had whispered into taehyungs ear over a twirl.
"no" taehyung replied as he slowly twirled into jungkooks arms.
"then get rid of that poker face" the husky voice whispered as his hand snaked around taehyungs waist.
"no" taehyung again replied in a monotone.
then the hand on his waist had gone down dangerously low under the long white coat on taehyung.
"that attitude of yours doesn't really suit with such a pretty face" jungkook had said close to his ear, before the alphas hand groped his ass.
taehyung jumped slightly in jungkooks hold, mouth parting slightly and eyes going wide, looking suddenly more aware of everything.
"thats better" jungkook smirked down and the music came to an end, so did the dance.
after the food, which taehyung took a few bites of, just because he was getting dizzy, kyungjae came to visit the couples.
"honestly, we all want this contract to come to an end sooner right?" the man had said.
"so i'm sure we will get the happy news soon" kyungjae shamelessly said.
"sure mr. kim" jungkook had said, the boredom in his voice not even hidden and kyungjae gave a tight lipped smile.
the ceremony was fairly over now and jungkook escorted taehyung to a car, the door closing behind once taehyung got in, taehyung the only occupant except for the driver.
taehyung saw jungkook get in a car infront along with seokjin.
as the two cars moved forward, taehyung leaned his head onto the tinted window, listening to the fast moving city around him.
the omega could feel the exhaustion of him to the bones and somewhere along the ride he dozzed off into a light slumber.
he did jerk awake when the car stopped infront of the jeon mansion, it not very unfamiliar to him now.
today it seems rather empty.
jungkook just signalled him to follow after them and taehyung trotted behind.
"wait by the 3rd floor" the alpha had said, as he lightly pushed taehyung into the elevator.
taehyung saw him go back to his talk with seokjin as the elevator door closed.
when it opened again at the 3rd floor, it was an empty hallway.
there were several rooms, almost like a fully furnished apartment and taehyung felt lost there.
taehyung didn't have to wait for long, before jungkook came, the alpha unbottoning his suit jacket as he came in, eyes already on taehyung.
he took a once over of taehyung and the omega felt as if he was stripped down by those eyes.
"hm our first night" he had husked, almost predatory and taehyung shivered.
he unconsciously took steps back until his back hit the wall as the alpha closed in.
he can't do this today. he just cant.
when jungkooks strong hands on either side of him trapped the omega against the wall, taehyung felt fear- as if like a prey in its predators den.
and the plead fell from his lips on its own-
"i cant. just not today p-please"

Points of Light - An Oral History of the Collapse
Humanity endures. The phrase is not only an informal slogan of the reformed United Nations, but a rallying cry the world over. Even in the face of extermination, we struggled, we fought, and we endured. But just how close did we actually come? In our darkest hour, how many steps separated our species from oblivion? And are we even safe now? Were the mistakes made by earlier generations really so obvious? Or are they only so blatent when we look back with the advantage of hindsight? If so, what horrors might be staring us in the face even now that no one has the foresight to prevent? Drawn from thousands of interviews, as well as uncorrupted contemporary recordings and source documentation dating back to the early 2000s; Points of Light is a definative look at the last half century of upheaval, prosperity and carnage. It tells the tale of what happened, how it happened, who was responsible and most importantly, what we might be able to do to prevent it from happening again.
