《SECOND TRIAL | tk | ✓》5. HAUNTING

sometimes, even if you're in a room so bright and auspicious, all you see would be darkness,
be it the dark corners that seems to be closing in on you or be it the aura of the people occupying it.
at times, it can also be due to your anxiousness or the good old tricks of your minds.
and when all of these combines, its never pleasant,
as of taehyung is going through right now.
the fully booked hall on one of the most prestigious hotels of starlight, was illuminated by grandeur of chandeliers and lights, giving it a glow of gold that create a fake atmosphere of celebration.
but all taehyung could associate everything of it with was gloom.
the kims, including taehyung, his father, step mother and their advisor, who were fashionably late was escorted into the hall after a pat down for weapons; them then accompanied by the fully armed guards into the hall.
taehyung could see that there were also four from jeons, who were seated on the grand table with seokjin at one head.
after the seats were occupied, the conversation flowed between the occupants of the table- completed with that fake friendliness and witty remark.
it was all a show.
meanwhile taehyung, he didn't lift his head up nor did he open his mouth even after he felt the gaze of several on him.
and when food came along, the omega had another reason to distract himself, for he was an anxious eater.
while the others around barely touched their food, taehyung was loudly slurping down the noodles and taking big bites of whatever he could get.
fuck everything.
taehyung doesn't care about manners.
for all he care, the jeons can call off this and he'd be happy.
his stepmother kept on nudging him with her elbow- as if taehyung is going to stop.

and then someone had banged their hand on the table, causing even taehyung, who was so invested on his food to look up wide eyed.
it was the person sitting right opposite to him on the table- a jeon.
the person, an alpha, young and handsome, had his eyes right on him with a predatory glare and taehyungs body unconsciously shivered.
then a smile, almost sinister was on the other lips as he took a napkin from the table, leaned over the table, and wiped taehyung lips with it- where the sauce was almost about to drizzle down.
"eat carefully, pup" the alpha had said, before he sat down and taehyung had to forcefully swallow down the food in his mouth.
taehyung lost all his appetite after that, subsequently the conversations around the table died down.
once the food was cleared, so did the friendly smiles.
"there are speculations going around, kim" seokjin had said, his carefully crafted way.
"seems like we need more than a marriage for convincing them" he had leaned further into the chair.
"we have found a solution for it" kim kyungjae had then spoken up and seokjin raised his brows.
"a mix of jeon and kim bloods would solve it" kyungjae had smirked and seokjins eyes narrowed.
"i'm not a fan of riddles, kim" seokjin had said his voice low.
"a child, a common heir from the marriage. that will be more constant, thats enough to convince them" kyungjae shrugged and taehyung visibly tensed on the table.
seokjin had gritted his teeth, before whispering something to his advisor.
taehyung watched all of it with batted breath.
"please dont agree, please dont-" his eyes pleaded but no one even looked his way.
seokjin shared a look with his brother.
"whats your thought on that, jungkook-ssi" he had asked.

all the heads on the table turned to the person addressed; the alpha decked in all black and face neutral, poised and sharp and fit.
"i think that'll work" that person sitting opposite to taehyung had spoke and taehyungs brain almost shut down.
jungkook? the person who he was going to marry. this is him?
"great! now we can proceed with the ceremony" kyungjae had a satisfied look on his face.
then the alpha sitting on taehyungs other side met his gaze- the slight glint on his eye making taehyung squirm in his seat.
the alpha stood up, walking round the table with that same power and aura, stopped right next to the omegas chair.
over the thundering of taehyungs heartbeat and the weight of many gazes, the alpha lifted taehyungs hand resting on the table and slipped a ring on it, multiple camera flashes going on around them.
the warm hand enveloping his own contrasted strangely with the coldness of the giant diamond ring on his finger.
and taehyung was dizzy.
he just given off his life like that.
he is going to be married into a brutal mafia family, bear the child of this alpha and has to come out all of it alive.
taehyung pulled his hand away and took shuddering breaths.
"this contract end the day the heir is born" seokjin voice resonated and everyone around the table clapped, except for taehyung.
then, jungkook had spoke-
"i would like to have a word with my fiancé. alone."
no one had any objections, and everyone left one by one after formal handshakes.
"taehyung-ssi" the alpha called taehyungs attention, but taehyung didn't acknowledge it over glaring down at the obnoxious ring on his hand.
taehyung wasn't one bit expecting it when a hand forcefully grabbed his hair and pulled it back, the omega wincing and in shock, his face now mere inches away from jungkooks.
"you've got quite an attitude on you hm?" he had anger on his face, jaws locked and assessing every bit of taehyungs face.
"i expect you to leave it when you enter into our home" the alphas hold tightened causing taehyung to hiss, his neck muscles straining.
"i dont tolerate my bitch being disrespectful" he asserted.
"f-fuck you" taehyung spitted out.
jungkooks face flashed anger and for a second taehyung feared he was going to get punched in the face.
"i will be the one doing all the fucking here, taehyung-ssi" jungkook then said in mock sweetness.
"and i will make sure to fuck some manners into you"
then, when the staffs had came in to arrange the hall, jungkooks grip on taehyungs hair turned into a sweet caress,
and taking the chance, the omega abruptly stood up, nearly tripping as his legs protested, but hastily got out not even glancing back.
he straight up got into the car he arrived on, the driver starting it soon and it moved forward.
one look outside and he saw jungkook at the top of the steps; eyes right on him.
taehyung is sure those eyes will be haunting his dreams tonight.
