memories,
too many bad memories associated with the house he is sitting right now.
to say they are just "bad" would be sugar coating it- this was a place that turned a quarter of his life into a living hell.
"pathetic as ever, i see" were the first words uttered, more like sneered by his father to him, seeing the tear that rolled down taehyungs face.
then there was a lot of screaming, kicking and someone pushing him into the car by the neck.
an hour and half past later, here he was in what was used to be his "home".
he had no tears in his eyes now; just standing in the office of his father- the man sipping alcohol and looking at his son with so much displeasure.
"for the years we have put up with you-" he started twirling the glass of whiskey in his hand,
"i think it has come time for you to- pay back your father-" kyungjae said with no hint of hesitance.
taehyung scoffed.
"You were never a father to me" he spitted out, disgusted and angered; every fiber of him wanting nothing but to run back to his apartment, away from it all.
a twitch worked its way up kyungjae's eyes.
"I had provided for you your whole life and even when You stole from me, i had let it go, you ungrateful--" the man had sucked in a breath, fingers going to his forehead and massaging between the eyebrows.
"you will do what i say" he finished, eyes now looking at his son and pinning him down.
"and what exactly is that you want from me?" taehyung retorted, swallowing down the anxiety, looking rebellious as ever.
"I am marrying you into the jeon jopok" the response came quick.
at this point taehyung is convinced that this is all just a very bad dream; a dream from which he is going to wake up shivering and sweating soon,
because what did he just heard again?

"...what?"
"the contract is already signed. you're marrying the younger jeon" his father said calmly.
"You must be sick in your head if-- if you thought i would ever agree to it" taehyung laughed humorously, fingers angrily carding through his own silverish hair.
"you have no choice in this. the wedding will happen this month itself" kyungjae said placing the finished glass down on the table and standing up, fixing his suit.
"i'd rather kill myself than let you do that to me-" taehyung said through gritted teeth, body shaking with all the anger,
"i wont let you ruin my life like you did to my mom" he added more like a whisper.
kyungjae's face darkened at that.
"your friend, what was his name again-- jimin?" he started with a smugness on his face and taehyung stiffened.
"i know everything about you, kim taehyung." he started with authority.
"and if you dare disobey me, i will make sure to destroy it all, every single person" the darkness in his eyes only increasing, the longer this extends.
taehyung was almost hyperventilating with anger, trying so hard to not cry infront of his monster of a father again.
"fuck you. y-you cant do that-" taehyung was shaking.
"you very well know i will" kyungjae smirked.
then the large door of the room was pushed opened by someone abruptly, the click of heels resounding with it.
there was that another figure taehyung wished to never see again-
"darling~" the womans red lips almost purred as she draped herself over kyungjae, her short black dress riding up her thighs in the process.
"its time for dinner. come on" she batted her eyes- the fake lashes fluttering against the heavily caked makeup that smoothed out her wrinkles and kyungjae smiled down at her.
taehyung wanted to puke.
"things are settled then." kyungjae straightened up.
"i hope you remember the way to your room upstairs." he said, but taehyung didn't even move to acknowledge it.

"i expect you to behave and try nothing foolish, taehyung" kyungjae said sternly, before that tall figure exited the room with his wife draped against him.

"hows everything at the company, kook-ah?" seokjin asked, from were he was wiping his lips after dinner.
"we got the partership with the exporting company today. things are good" his brother sitting opposite to him on the table genuinely replied.
seokjin nodded his head in acknowledgement.
the bond between jeon brothers was always strong- them together through it all, then and now.
ever since their father, the founder of this empire dissappeared, the brothers took over- seokjin taking care of all the dirty mafia business meanwhile the younger, jungkook, the ceo of starlight enterprises, one of the richest companies of south korea- all the mafia foundation hidden from public eyes with that seemingly unharmful exterior.
but all the brothers brought to people were terror- despite their young age, no one dares to disrespect them, considering the amount of blood in both jeons hands and the huge jopok they grew.
"i know you want to tell me something, hyung" jungkook broke the silence.
despite being an alpha, the younger had so much respect for his hyung, whom who had took care of him through the absence of their parents and always protected him.
"you know--- as things with the lower tier has been shaky, we are working with kims" seokjin said, voice calm and jungkook nodded his head.
eventhough not fully, jungkook was still involved in the mafia side of his family, and he did knew about the uprisings that were a constant headache.
then seokjin had told about the contract, the marriage- jungkook was silent through it all.
"i know i shouldn't have agreed without asking you--"
"i will do it, hyung" jungkook said without any hesitance.
thats how it has always has been.
the alpha knows how beneficial the contract is and eventhough this contract is tricky, its worth the hassle.
"was that him? that omega that ran out of your room?" jungkook asked curious and seokjin nodded his head, eyes assessing jungkook.
"the kims were always a pain in the ass. this could be fun" jungkook smirked and his brother rolled his eyes.
the kims and jeons were rivals for years. thats one of the reasons seokjin is loving this.
especially today, when he saw kyungjae right at his den, with his poor weeping son- it was quite satisfying to see.
then seokjin had gave a smile, those rare ones that only jungkook get to see.
and just like that after the very filling dinner, both brothers headed to the basement floor to take care of some 'pending stuff', laughing and joking about daily life, looking as maniacal as ever to their subordinates.

taehyung cant remember the last time he felt so lonely.
the familiar room, neat and clean for his use, the bed cold as ever.
he feels like the last few years went by too quick. that he was dragged back into all this too quick.
he silently cried, the coat he got from the jeons somewhere abandoned on the floor and he curled up on the bed, ignoring the dulling pain on his left leg.
he missed his apartment.
he missed jimin and oreo.
will he ever get to graduate?
jimin must be worried sick.
a contract? a marriage?
jeons- they were ruthless.
will he survive?
a year more and he could have escaped somewhere far.
there was so much to think, too much to think.
it will take time to get used to all this again, to how his life used to be.
some time later, taehyung fell asleep into a fitful sleep filled with nightmares.
this was it.
this was taehyungs 𝐒𝐞𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐝 𝐓𝐫𝐢𝐚.
