"...our ancestors co-existed in a pack system ruled by the head alpha and luna. as we all know, unlike the current generation they could shift into their strong wolf forms..." the professor went on explaining to the class full of students- half of them hastily scribbling down notes and the other half listening attentively.
"...by the 1917 act of equality, no secondary gender is considered higher over the other..." the projector on the wall flashed to show the features of the said act.
"...as per biology, 75 % of the females and 10 % of the males are carriers, that is they can give rise to progeny, but the natality rate is low compared to our ancestors..." with another click from the projector, the screen flashed to show drawings of wolves displayed in museums.
"...characters like heat cycle and mating bonds got lost in evolution, whereas the slight scents and sexual characters still pertains..."
and when the bell rang with its shrill sound indicating the hour long lecture to end, the students cluttered out of the class, some thanking the professor on their way and the others pushing notes into their bags in the run.
soon the professor packed her stuff, switched off the projector and exited the class, probably to another lecture or to enjoy her break.
now in the lonesome room, only one student was left.
he was in no hurry; neatly putting the notes and pen inside his bag, took his time to get up and put the chair back in its place as he slowly made his way to the door.
the boy put the hood of his hoodie over his head, his bag secure on his shoulders as he took slow steps from the silent classroom to the busy corridors.

he had his head down, a few ash grey stands astray from its hiding place under the hoodie.
when he turns around a particularly dim lit corridors, those strands turn darker in the lighting, just swaying back and forth in front of those long lashes.
the smooth path was soon obstructed by a short stretch of stairs that lead to the mess hall in his front.
the protagonist gripped his hands onto the railing on the side, as one by one he got down the steps, then pushing the door and entering into the mess.
the walls of the hall were yellow, a color that symbolizes happiness- something what everyone hopes their college days will be.
even through the excited noises and laughs that prevailed in that densely packed room, the boy kept his head low until he found his usual spot- a table on the farther corner which no one usually opts.
he took his water bottle and one of those giant books on museum studies from his bag and deposited it onto the empty table.
"what a nerd" someone said from the adjacent table followed by snickers.
"....heard he fell on his face again last day" the laughs multiplied this time, but the boy didn't heed them any mind as he took a chug from the bottle and opened his book.
"In 1985, the journal of the international council of museums editoralized about a new museology in france, a movement..." the boy started reading from the page he left off last day; his pink lips silently moving with every syllable, tuning out rest of the sounds around him.
soon the people near his table diverted their interest from him, when a pretty girl joined their table- them going all gentlemanly and soft spoken in hopes to have her attention.

the food came at the counters and everyone clambered to get theirs, but the boy in the corner was still immersed in his book or atleast that was what he is trying to do.
when the loud chatterings died down, the voice of the news reporter from an led screen on the left wall penetrated through the thinly veiled silence.
"six dead in a possible mafia attack. police still investigating to find the perpetrators." the professional voice of the lady on the screen glided to the boy.
his hand which was about to turn a page halted mid way and the boy took in a shaky breath before going back to his reading.
but this time, he couldn't concentrate on a single word.
" uff tae, sorry i'm late" suddenly a form crashed onto the chair on opposite side of the table and the boy visibly jolted.
"had to meet professor choi regarding my project" the newcomer snatched the bottle on the table and took a large gulp.
"he went all 'mr. park i expect more from you' on me" the person whined as he put the bottle down with a thud, and wiped the sweat off his forehead.
"you will figure it out chim" the boy talked for the first time in hours, sympathetic for his friends lament, now letting the hood fall back from his head.
when the other only pouted in response, the boy closed his book and stood up with a- "lets eat, i'm hungry".
the response was immediate; the other joined the boy, hands looping together as they made their way to the counter.
the boy dared to take a look at the screen on the wall on his way.
"-Six dead in a mafia attack-" the headline line scrolled by in bold red letters.
his footing jerked on its next step, his left angle twisting slightly inside the worn out black shoes.
"careful, tae" his friend gripped on his biceps, when the boy swayed slightly.
that caused the boy to forcefully avert his gaze from the screen, and gave a reassuring smile to the orange mop of hair in his front, before resuming his steps.
at that moment, the boy wished forgetting was as simple as how people romanticized it to be.
nevertheless, he put on a smile and walked with his friend to the counter- the smell of kimchi and bacon was much more inviting than the stench of his forgotten past.

A-Live AI
The year is 2247. For almost two hundred years Sentient AI research has been banned. Everyone knew this, and yet no one has ever given up on finding the perfect setup for it. Restricted AI are rare, but possible to get ahold of if you have the money and the clout to get through the law for it. Especially when it deals with the military. Alfred Homis is an engineer and has spent the last three years working for the United Terran Military's Research and Exploration Department. Specifically to help build a 'shackled' AI who's prime directive was to explore potentially habitable worlds. Worlds that are far cheaper to colonize and add to the United Terran Directorate's fold than terraforming. During the AI's maiden voyage things go horribly wrong, taking Alfred Homis along for the ride. Thrown into a parallel universe where the laws of physics are just a little messed up, Alfred finds himself trapped inside the very machine he'd helped to build. Add magic, hostile fantasy creatures, and two different pantheons of 'Gods' to the mix and things get even more complicated. Oh, and an invasion between universes to boot. But that's just all in a days work though for Alfred, the AI Lord. Authors Note: Hi guys! Long time no see. And yes, I know that's all on me. But I blame life for that. Anyway, this is my new work, and I hope you guys enjoy it! The chapters are a little shorter than I'd previously posted in my other stories, but I cannot say that I have the same amount of time or energy to write them like that anymore. Sorry about that. Still, some warnings: There is cursing in this story. I am not going to edit it out. There will be sexual content later. Blood, gore and cruel depictions are all planned. If that isn't your thing, I'd suggest you turn back now. There is also my dry, and often not-so-funny sense of humor. And oh, it's all in first person gain. Haha. I just tend to write better that way. If none of that bothers you, then enjoy the read! Feel free to comment, point out mistakes, or make suggestions! Reviews are nice too, but please lay off the criticism until the story gets good and going. Thank you. Note 1: Some edits to the synopsis.
